Atharva's honor killing track did not kill the love story, that was the basic concept of the show and how Vividha over comes her battle to get Atharva back. This phase was beautiful in every sense.
What killed the show was the forced marriage of Ravish and Vividha, and how her character was made into a football who had to keep the V-clan happy just because their spineless son had tied up a mangalsutra around her neck. In that process of keeping that stupid marriage alive writers killed the show. they only wanted to redeem the show when they understood that repeated marriage of Ravidha has been outright rejected and even panned by the few audience left.
The show got a lot of things wrong.. The basic concept of the show was Love and empowerment, but sadly CVs forgot that for empowerment in love and fulfilling duties one does not need to marry. There is a say that a woman's love is as strong as God's will, and when she commits then nothing can stop her, and writers wanted to to make a mashup of this ideology with the regular nonsense saas bahu crap ideology of TV which mocked everything there after.
Great love stories are made when people fall in love and forget the world for each other and not when people get forced into marriages and are called names if they decide to quit. We know what happened in Titanic, Rose married after jack but Jack was the last man she has loved, we know what happened in Jerry maguire where Jerry falls in love with a single mother and that was his first and last love.
Moral of the story is that you mess with the ideology you wanted to deliver, the you lose the logic.
I will still say the show is great, it had its good and bad moments because no, yes not a single indian show or movie is perfect, JNDSD delivers a good message, I am happy show has a dignified ending.
