The retention of the sutra is both deliberate and clever.

The CVs are trying to make a point here.

Yes, there is the dramatic effect bit and yes, it needs to be witnessed by Atharv etc.

Besides that..

The writers are trying to emphasize the contrast between Vivi's societal husband and husband of the heart.

They are showing by example what marriage REALLY means.

For example, if Ravish had died (and not Atharv), society would expect Vivi to dress like a widow, and perhaps she would. She would even mourn him cuz she respected/carex for him as a friend and person.

However, the key difference would be that although she looked like a widow, she wouldn't FEEL like one.

Consider, today's episode.. Such a contrast. This Vivi FEELS like a widow, whose partner/spouse/lover/other half is lost. She feels the incompleteness. The LOOK part came way later. As an afterthought. A byproduct of her state of mind. She feels no need to dress up anymore. As simple as that.

The MS is not a factor at all. It's presence doesn't make her feel less widowed, does it? It doesn't comfort her at all.

THAT is the point the CVs are trying to make.

There are other significances to their names actually.

Their rarity struck me enough to do some research.
