Looks like the this plot was adapted from amitabh and shashi kapoor's movie trishul. Where Amitabh and shashi were step bothers, the father loved waheeda rehman, and ended up marrying someone else because she was rich. But the only difference waheeeda died and Amitabh comes to the city to take revenge with the father.
