Kailash - Page 2

Kailash behaves in a way that seems like he believes that what he is doing is truly right. That how he treats his daughters and his wife is completely justified. What he fails to realize is that he is a man, and tomorrow when he wants to wed his daughters, it is possible they might end up marrying men just like him. I don't think he's ever even thought of the possibility that his daughters might end up marrying men like him. Men who hurt and degrade and dehumanize. I don't know what wake up call it will take for him to realize he's screwing everything up, or maybe he'll just stay evil forever.

I was actually going to make a reverse post. I don't like Kailash as a person or as a husband. However, I find his behavior acceptable as a father.

- He is a loving father and does not abuse his kids.

- He has given them adequate freedom within bounds.

- He thinks he knows the best for them -- which parent doesn't

- He wants to chose their life partner -- this may be unbelievable to many on the forum from large cities and other countries but it is a fact of life of a large majority in India.

- He emotionally blackmails them - almost all parents do because that is most effective way to get what you want from your kids. Kids do the same.

- Finally - the biggest point -- He hates Atharv - Why would a father/family accept a guy with

-- no family name (it is very important in most part of India)

-- no money, deep in debt

-- maligns his daughter's name in public by claiming he will marry her by hook or crook

-- OTT confident attitude that keeps rubbing him the wrong way

His methods to keep Atharv away from Vividha are despicable, but he did start "gently" by threatening and scaring the mother-son duo. Things escalated only after the threats did not work and the mother-duo kept showing up at his door step to force the relationship down his throat.

A father could care less how sexy the guy was, if his current prospects are nil.

I know most people on the forum will disagree with me but this my POV

Every situation has two angles to it.. So i agree with majority of the points that u have made here.

Just that he is a little bit more than a mere blackmailer..cause he is keeping his intentions hidden from his daughter, even now when he is taking such huge steps in order to get Athrav out of Vivis life. Actions that will have lasting and devastating effects on someone else's life. Not everyone has the heart to stoop so low in order to get vengeance.

This is the part which is not normal and cant be compared with parents in general.

One thing i forgot to mention about kailash...

I think Kailash is just a hypocrite. Vividha is his favorite, becoz she hero worships him and sees only one side of him. He gives her freedom becoz she never questions his actions whatsoever, on the other hand he keeps abusing his wife all the time. She has no right to voice her opinion on anything unless she agrees with him all the time.
And coming to Atharv, why does he hate him so much ???? He has disliked Atharv from the start, why so ????
Becoz he's not rich ??? Becoz he has no fathers name ????
He is educated, he is hardworking and wants to achieve something in life, he has respect for elders, why is Kailash not willing to give him a chance??? Did he forget where he came from ???? Kailash had to work hard to achieve what he has now and no one knows what he had to do to come this far, then why not willing to give someone else a chance also.
And if he discovers that his daughter has fallen in love too with Atharv then what will he do ???

I don't think Kailash is good father.I agree that he wants his daughter to get married into a rich family.So he wanted to arrange meeting with rich man's son.But what about his other qualifications. It didn't seem he did any background check on that guy.What if,he started doubting Vividha and started to torture her. That rich man 's son was a good guy,as shown in the episode. But Kailash didn't even consider about the guy's character
