SidNi OS Best Friends Forever
"You know the guy dad has chosen for me is so handsome." Roshni said with a dreamy smile on her face.
"Acha ,so you think you love him?" asked Siddharth with a smile on his face poking his best-friend.
"Ya seems like love at first sight sid!" she exclaimed with a shy smile and hugged him.
'Why is all this so difficult? Why the possibility of her with someone else makes me so disappointed? Do I love her?' he thought hugging her tight.
'Why don't his eyes show any emotion for me? Do I feel wrong and he actually doesn't feel for me?' she thought with tears in her eyes still finding solace in the hug.
"So will you miss me?" he asked breaking the hug and suddenly showing his vulnerable side to her.
The emotions in his eyes clearly made it obvious that what he felt for his best friend was unconditional love ,Ishq wala love.
"Of course I won't." she tried being playful with him but her eyes spluttered tears of her own accord.
He didn't like tears in her eyes so he just stepped closer to her and cupped her face. She was suddenly scared of her emotions overpowering her.
He stared in her glittering eyes and leaned in to kiss her forehead slowly. She was taken into the moment feeling his touch on her ,they both stood there living the beautiful silence.
"Rosh ,let's go. Your mom must be waiting ,come!" he said giving his hand to her and she held it firmly.
As they strolled across the beach ,her face held a certain sense of peace. He didn't know if it was because he was holding her hands or else she was happy of her marriage.
He kept on stealing glances at her and saw she was looking at their hands and smiling wide.
Her smile seemed to be infectious as he was smiling at once. She kept her head on his shoulder while he gently pecked her!
'This is love ,I can't lose her now. I have to tell her ,maybe she doesn't love me but I do and that's what I need to tell her.' his heart thought and he looked above trying to get the strength.
'But it's too late ,she is getting married. I can't break my friendship before she starts a new life.' his brain countered and his inner turmoil exhausted him.
He made both of them sit on the sand beneath and looked at her happy face. He couldn't let her happiness fade but what was the way? He didn't know if his heart was right or his brain was wrong?
He dropped her till her house and started going away but his heart stopped him and said 'Sid if she turns around ,you will tell her everything.'
He nodded and prayed to God to make her turn around as he had finally made up his mind. She kept going towards the gate!
'No Roshni don't turn around ,seeing him now will just complicate things!' her brain told her but as always her heart hammered loudly.
'Don't you want to see him one last time? He is your best friend before the guy you love.' she cursed her heart for the emotional blackmail.
She was about to turn when she saw a figure hugging her ,it was her fiancee ,Rohan. She hugged him back unwillingly and saw Siddharth staring at them.
'I got my answer Roshni. I guess you will always remain my best friend. But that won't change the fact that I will love you till the end!' he thought and strolled away.
The wedding preparations started and he was helping always because afterall Roshni was his best friend.
There were many occasions when they came face to face but never talked ,they just communicated with their hearts.
On the wedding day ,Roshni sat in her room getting ready ,the past coming infront of her eyes ,tears clouding her vision.
"Roshni ,Siddharth kahan hai?" her mother came in sounding stressed as she considered Siddharth as her own son.
"Mom Siddharth must be somewhere around." Roshni said disinterested when her mom came to caress her face and wipe off her tears.
"Uh mom wo these tears. I don't know maybe I am sad going away from all of you." she tried to say as genuinely as possible but her mother gathered her in a hug.
"You are lying to your mother? Go and get your Siddharth." her mom told and Roshni was left wondering if this was a dream or reality.
"Woh bahut pyaar karta hai tujhse. You haven't seen it but it is in his eyes ,he can't live without you but can't say to you as well." she said making Roshni anxious.
"Mom it is my wedding today. What are you speaking?" Roshni asked suddenly getting up staring at a photo of them enjoying together.
"Puri zindagi tu uski photo dekh kar roti rahegi. Isse better hai aaj sach bol de apne aap se bhi aur Siddharth se bhi." her mom said and she hugged her at once.
"Ja beta ,Rohan ko aur dad ko main sambhal lungi." she consoled her while Roshni ran away with the help of her mother.
"I know ki ab tak tum kisi aur ki ho gayi ho Roshni but meri Roshni humesha meri rahegi." he said talking to her photo holding it close to his heart.
He hugged it and sunk on the floor crying when he saw the door opening and the most shocking part was Roshni standing at the doorstep.
"Main yahan kaise? Ghar mein kaise aayi? Shaadi ka kya? I will answer your unlimited questions one by one." she said suddenly feeling emotional.
He kept on gawking at her in a bid to make her start to talk but she didn't and just came closer to him.
She sat beside him and stole the photo from his hand. He was immediately reminded of 7th class when she had stolen his lollipop.
"Kya Roshni? You are still a thief." he said lighting up the situation while she hit him hard on his hand.
"Ab coming to the point ,Sid I came inside coz I have a spare key to your house." she spoke guiltily as she hasn't told him about this ever.
"I know Rosh ,you are a good thief no doubt but I always have your back." he whispered leaning closer to her making her blush.
He was surprised seeing her cheeks turning crimson ,she had a wedding today what about that?
She put her hands across his neck and he kept on seeing her in shock trying to believe it was his Roshni only or someone else.
"I am your Roshni only and I will be yours forever." she spoke huskily in his ears sending shivers in his whole body.
He lightly pushed her away and said holding her hands ,"Yes I'll always be your best friend Roshni."
She got irritated with this best friend rant and pulled him by his collar taking him in a passionate kiss.
He was stunned at first ,his life had changed so much in the previous days and the incident unravelling in front of him now was just too much to take in.
Her lips beckoned him to kiss her back and his brain cut off from his body as he gave into his heart and kissed her back with if not the same but much greater passion.
They kept on kissing and showering their love to each other for a couple of more time but stopped when they realized they needed to talk as well.
Sometimes actions do convey what you want but the right words can make the moment magical.
"Siddharth ,I love you and only you. Not as a best friend but in every possible way someone can love a person." she finally poured her heart out.
He was jumping listening to her confession but decided to play with her ,he knew they both had waited alot but now was the time to show her what she meant for him.
"But Roshni ,I love you only as a best friend. I always thought we were friends ,nothing else." he confessed looking in her eyes while her world stood still hearing him speak.
She wasn't one to be fooled easily so she pulled him closer hoping the proximity would effect him and he would say the truth.
"Then why did you kiss me? Will you take advantage of me as a friend?" she asked throwing a googly at him and he was surely clean-bowled.
She started to go away seeing him confused ,she didn't want to talk to him anymore,he had not acknowledged his feelings and hurt her.
"I said I love you as a best-friend." he said tugging at her hand and she was facing him now.
He started moving towards her as he further confessed his love to her.
"I will always be your bestfriend ,a friend who protects you like your dad ,a friend who cares for you like your mom ,a friend who loves you much more than what words can tell." he finished his eyes boring deep into hers.
She knew what he meant ,she knew he loved her too but now it was her turn to have fun.
"So what do I do?" she shouted angrily and he was taken aback by her stance. "You still don't love me as a lover na?" she asked making cute faces.
"What do I do of this girl god? First of all she doesn't understand my confession and second she is making such faces that I want to kiss her senseless." he said staring upwards.
"I heard that." she said grinning wide on what he said while he jerked her and now she was so close to him that no air could pass.
"It was meant to be heard my BFF!" he said and she again stomped her feet hearing him referring her as a best friend again.
He hugged her passionately and told ,"I love you Roshni ,my heart has only you in it and there is no space left for anyone else to fit in. You were my world and now you are my heartbeat too."
His confession made her numb for words but he continued ,"I know I am not perfect but when you are with me the moment seems perfect. I don't know if I'll be able to show you my love but I promise you that the bestfriend in me won't ever disappoint you."
The last line from him made her giggle. He broke the hug and looked at her confused while she said ,"So if my husband irritates me ,I can have my best friend to help me?"
Her question put up a contented smile on his face and he knew it was time. He bent down on his knees as her eyes teared up again.
"How much do you cry? Don't do it ,you are contributing in the water scarcity." he said jokingly while she laughed through her tears.
"Okay now let me concentrate ,don't distract with your laughter." he spoke and closed his eyes trying to get the perfect words.
"Roshni ,I have loved you from a long time ,just forget that I said that. Huh!! It's so difficult." he sighed trying to get a coherent proposal out.
He put a hand on his heart and said finally ,"My heart chants only your name because as you know you reside in it. I want you to live not only in my heart but in my house as well ,being my wife."
He paused a bit to look at her and the pride in her eyes made him speak further. "I want to call you mine ,to show the world that the best girl is mine because if you see from my eyes ,you are the best!"
"I know I am bad at expressing myself but I assure you that each day my love for you will keep on increasing. So will you marry me and give me a chance to love you forever?" he asked smiling at her petite figure.
She sat down in front of him and said ,"Who wouldn't want to marry you ,because if you see from my eyes you are perfect at expressing your love."
He made her wear the ring he had got for her and kissed her happily. She responded back with all the love she had for him.
"Arre but what about your parents ,Rohan and everyone?" he asked concerned ,he considered her parents his family and couldn't let them suffer.
"Mom will handle everything. Apparently she saw the love you had for me." Roshni explained to him while he pulled her close.
"Rosh ,to whom will you complain about your husband now? Because your husband and BFF are same?" he asked nuzzling his face in her neck.
She tried to pay attention to his talks but his sweet tortures couldn't let her do so. Finally gathering her self control back she started speaking.
"My Best friend is forever beside me. He will love me like my husband and protect me like a friend." she said lovingly and he just smiled.
They got married after a week and no one was as happy as the two best friends. Nothing in the world is better than falling for your own best friend!
