Actor Ravi Dubey is on cloud nine for being chosen as the male recipient of the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Awards this year. Bagging the trophy was the last thing Ravi could have expected but like as they say, good things happen when you least expect.
Begin chosen over and above so many deserving nominees has infused new joy and hope in Ravi's heart. He says, "I was extremely excited when they choose me for this award. The Dada Saheb Phalke foundation found me worthy. And the fact that Shah Rukh Khan was present there specially to give the award to me made me feel even better. He was one of the recipient's from the film fraternity and they choose me to receive the award from television fraternity is very encouraging for me and it's a great honour."
He also shares, "Sargun was the first person with whom I shared this information. She was also happy though she couldn't make it for the award function as she was busy with the shoot. She regrets not being present there. But despite having early morning schedule, she made sure that we celebrate this so we had small party last night. My parents and in-laws were super happy when they got this news. It's a great achievement for me. Last year, my friend Gautam Rode had won this award and he shared the same feeling then. He is really happy for me now."
Ravi's heart swells with joy seeing his daily show - Jamai Raja - doing well and getting good response from the viewers these days.
About how he wishes to plan his career after the overwhelming win, Ravi says, "I haven't really thought much about future. I never plan anything. I just go with flow, do good work and give to my nation and my family. And I am extremely happy for what I am doing now and making my family feel proud of me."
