Part 18

Siddharth makes Roshni sit in the car. He takes out the first-aid kit from the glove box. He wipes the blood off her ankle with cotton gently and nurses the wound. Roshni adoringly watches him. Finally when her ankle is bandaged safely, Siddharth opens the glove box to keep the first aid kit inside. Roshni stops him, takes the kit from his hands and says,

"Are you a vampire that you will heal by yourself?"

She takes out cotton and wipes the blood flowing down his nose and lips. Siddharth grins broadly.

"Baby, tumhe aaj pata chala? You know what, I am actually very thirsty, thirsty for..." he raises his eyebrows. Roshni looks at him ambiguously.

"You" he whispers and leans towards her. She rolls her eyes and pushes him back.

"Siddharth maar khaoge abh! Jab dekho mauke pe chauka maarne ka koshish karte rehte ho! Look at yourself! Even after getting up beaten akal thikane nahi aayi na?"

Siddharth pouts dishearteningly. Roshni raises his chin firmly and tells him not to move anymore. After tending his bruises she finally keeps the kit inside. Siddharth continued to stare at her with fondness. She snapped her fingers in front of his face. He comes out of his daze and fumbles. She giggles politely and grins. Siddharth starts the car; he was still in a trance mode.

"Siddharth?" she called out to him.

"Hmm?" he replied facing the front. Roshni leans forward and pecked him on his cheek. That made him smile cheerfully. He puts his hand on his cheek where she kissed him and looks at her. He was about to say something when his phone rings. It was from the police station. Roshni patiently waits for him to finish his call so that she could ask him what it was about. Siddharth cuts the phone and looks at her incredulously.

"RV has pulled a similar technique in U.S as well. He is a wanted fraudulent in U.S. Before he would have been caught he got married to Sam, to gain entry in this country. After coming here he must have realized that he could earn a lot of money by scamming us. His India's visa has expired a long time back and now he will be deported back to U.S. He won't be able to return to India anymore, all his future visits will get blocked due to his extension of stay here even after expiry. We have finally got rid of him, Roshni! Now my sister is free from his evilness. My lawyers will arrange their divorce papers by tomorrow!" he heaved a big sigh of relief.

Roshni was stunned. Siddharth caresses her cheeks and assures her that everything is fine now and she did not need to worry any further. He starts driving.

Pent House

Simran was serving tea to Mr. Khurana. Kritika comes and says worriedly,

"Mom, Rajveer's phone is switched off from a very long time now. Something is definitely wrong. He did not even say where he was going in the morning!"

"Kritika, why are you over-reacting? He must be busy in work and his phone must have discharged. Don't worry everything will be fine." she replied calmly.

Raj listened to their conversations silently. He had seen Siddharth leave in the morning too, and they had not spoken the entire day. Siddharth had not even shown up at office. Earlier he had thought that he must have been in the hospital with Roshni but now he was skeptical.

All of a sudden, DD enters with 2-3 policemen followed by an anxious Nani.

"Search the house, inspector! I am 100% sure that he must have brought her here."

"What are you doing in my house? What are police doing here?" asked Simran angrily.

Garage

Siddharth parks the car. They had reached the pent house.

"Why have we come here? My mom will be worried; you should have dropped me at my house."

"This is your house only, Roshni. And sasumom bhi yahi hongi!" he replied mildly.

"What? Why will my mom be here?" she was puzzled.

"Mera swagat karne aur kya!!" he said playfully.

"Huh? Mom maan gayi? But how? Kal tak toh mom was against you!!" she asked innocently.

"Uffo Meri pagal biwi!! Aarti ke thaali ke saath swagat nahi karne wali hai tumhari mom, police ke hathkariyo ke saath karengi! Abh chalo, already we are so late! Pura ghar uthake rakh diya hoga MWW ne!!"

"MWW?? What are you trying to say Siddharth I do not understand one bit of it! Saaf Saaf batao na!" she said in an annoyed tone.

"Mom's World War! You are missing since morning and abhi tak sasumom ko toh pata chal hi gaya hoga! Aur jaha tak I know her, unhe pakka laga hoga maine unki bechari si, bholi bhali bachi ko kidnap kar liya hai!" he said teasingly while pulling her cheeks.

Roshni was lost in deep thought and stared at him.

"Now, C'mon let's go!" he snapped his fingers and unfasten his seat belt.

Roshni grabbed him by his arms and said,

"Siddharth what will we do? Neither your mother nor my mom will believe a word we say against RV! We must call that inspector who arrested him. He can vouch for us then!"

"Arre, don't worry Roshni! Maine sab intezaam kar diya hai.. abh chalo bhi I have a surprise for you upstairs!"

Pent house

"Madam, we searched the entire place but your daughter is not here." said the inspector.

"How is this possible?" replied DD persistently.

"Mil gayi aapko shaanti? Abhi issi waqt aap bahar nikaliye! Pata nahi kaha kaha se muh uthake aa jate hai yeh log mere Sid ki zindagi ko barbaad karne!" screamed Simran. Kritika tries to calm her down.

"Simmi!! Please be quiet!!" said Raj angrily.

Few men enter the apartment with some boxes. They start setting up a home theatre system in the hall. Raj asks them who has ordered for this when Siddharth enters.

"I did" he said. Everyone is stunned to see his hands and forehead bandaged. Simran rushes towards him.

"What happened to you? How did you get hurt? Kahin Roshni ne - " she gets interrupted by Siddharth.

"What did you say? Roshni? Mom aapko seriously aisa lagta hai ki main ladkio se maar kha ke aunga!! Karate classes bekaar ke nahi liye the maine! Aur Sasumom!! Why are you getting angry? Jaldi aaye yaha just like how my mom came.." he said teasingly.

DD looks at him confusingly.

"Oh wait, let me bring the reason for which you will come running towards me!" he said and goes out and brings Roshni with him. She needed his support to walk. He was holding her by her shoulders, while her right hand was holding his arms. On seeing Roshni, DD finally rushes towards them. Siddharth smirks on seeing her reaction.

"Roshni beta! What happened?" she asked.

Roshni looks at Siddharth wondering what to tell her mom, where to begin and where to end. Siddharth rolls his eyes and says,

"We will tell you guys everything, First let us sit !! Itni chote lagi hai hume aur koi paani ke liye bhi nahi puch raha hai... yahi thi aap logo ki mamta?!"

DD holds Roshni from the other side and helps her to sit on the sofa while Simran goes and brings water for both of them. Meanwhile Raj Khurana tells the police officers that they are not needed anymore as their children have returned home safely. The police officers leave.

"What are you doing Siddharth?" Roshni whispered while drinking water.

"Just wait and watch, baby. Let me handle this." he replied softly and put his hands on top of hers to assure her.

"How long will you keep us waiting Sid? We are really tensed now! You were not even picking up my phone for a long time!" said Raj.

"Arre Dad, relax! Everyone please calm down. Both of us are fine and everything is good now. Just have patience. Bhaiyyaji kaam hogaya kya? Yaha logo ke paseene chut rahe hai intezaar karte karte.." he said to the men indicating towards DD.

DD makes a face at him and Roshni pinches his fingers. The men set up the system, give some instructions to Siddharth on how to operate it and leaves.

"Footage khaane ki aadat nahi gayi iss ladke ki! Pata nahi kya naya drama karega abh!" said DD inaudibly.

"Ok now guys, please take your seats. After such a long time all of us our together under one roof and guess what it is a happy day for all of us! Arre meri taraf taakna bandh kariye and please just sit down!! I have planned a full power action filled evening for us!" he said cheerfully.

"Sid beta, lekin yeh kya hai sab?" asked Nani.

"Arre Nani Ma.. today all of us will watch a movie together.. aap logo ko lag raha hoga ki main pagal ho gaya hu aur mujhe asylum chale jana chaiye par please just this last time trust me with this!" he said playfully.

Everyone sits down hesitantly. DD goes towards Roshni and tells her that they should leave now. Roshni pleads her to stay and listen to Siddharth once.

"Sasumom, baeth jaye na aapka hi ghar hai yeh!" he winked at her. Finally she agrees and sits down beside Simran as that was the only place left. Simran mocks at her while she rolls her eyes unbelievingly.

Siddharth puts a pen drive in the system. He switches off the light.

"Dil thaam ke baethiye, specially aap mom! Coz you will get the shock of your life today!" he said.

He plays the video.

It starts with a scenario of a construction site where a person gives a file and says,

"Sir, the man who set the fire in the house is a construction worker. He works for Malhotra Builder's. His name is Virendar. Right now he is working in this site and you can see him there."he points out to the man.

Siddharth paused the video.

"You may find it confusing and boring right now, but it has everything in it - be it action, comedy, drama, tragedy sab hai ! Please enjoy, till then I have something very important to discuss with my wife." he said and starts it again. He comes towards Roshni and takes her with him to their bedroom.

Before he could open the door, Roshni asks him,

"Siddharth yeh video kaha se mila? You had said RV destroyed all the videos?"

"Well, yes RV had destroyed all the videos, but he did not know that I was wearing a spying device too.. The pen which I had in my pocket, was a video device.. it can capture video and it gets automatically saved in the in-built pen drive. Hai na bada mazedaar?" he winked at her.

"Wow!! Siddharth!! This must have captured everything..now mom can really understand what kind of person RV was!!" she hugged him in excitement. He hugs her back and kisses her hair.

"C'mon let us go inside! You should lie down for some time. You have given a lot of stress to your legs for a day now."

He loosens the hug and opens the door. It was dark. They step inside and he asks her to wait while he goes to switch on the light. Roshni felt a little elevated as she had stepped into her own room after a really long time. She had missed her room a lot all these days.

As the lights shine, Roshni looks around her. She was expecting the room to be just like she had left it all those months back. Everything was same. The bed, the cupboards, the curtains, the colour! Everything except the millions of pictures that were pasted all around the room. Pictures of her, smiling and laughing, all of different sizes taken randomly. She was astounded and speechless.

"Chalo aao.." he comes near her and tries to take her to the bed. But she stood like a statue admiring the view. He finally looks at her face. Tears rolled down her cheeks.

I hope you guys liked the story so far.. since the cvs deprived us from Roshni's reactions to the photos.. I have made a scene regarding that! 😃
