Why did Shailendra marry Aradhana?

Even though Shailendra and Aradhana have been married for 10 years, why do I get the impression that Shailendra was never interested in his wife or her welfare? I wonder if he married her to please his family. He is a two faced man who can appear to be the most obedient and 'adarsh' son in front of the world but only we know the true inside story of this horrible man.

1. We all know about his affair with Nikita. I bet that is not his first or last affair. He has probably always been unfaithful to his wife

2. He does not want kids with her. Do they even have a physical relationship like a normal married couple?

3. He is always belittling her and wants to humiliate her at every juncture. His goal at the office is also the same. Which self respecting man would want his wife to fail in front of his clients and investors at work? After all, his wife is representing him in a broader sense and if she goofs up, it reflects badly on him and his company. Why is humiliating her more important than the success of his company?

A regular husband treats his wife like an extension of himself but here it seems that Shailendra is always irritated by her, does not want her around and even wants to get rid of her. Aradhana's biggest problem is her complete dedication to this jerk of a husband. I wish she was not that nice and could see through this two faced evil man she thinks is her 'swami'😡

Shailendra just needs women slaves around him, not a self respecting spouse. Jaago Aradhana jaago!

I agree Nitica but right now I am upset with Aradhana too. Why is she so nice and sweet? Why can't she see through her manipulative husband and her younger sister in law, Sanjana?😡 I am worried that Aradhana will soon get a big shock where she feels helpless and isolated. Even though she emerged victorious on her first day at work, Chaalu Shailu will make sure she fails miserably and gets humiliated in front of everyone.😭

i think they might actually have a physical relationship otherwise aradhana would really realize by now that he does infact hate her and not to mention there are times that hes taken her out to dinner to show that he cares for her but not really. and plus if he was doing this in front of her then dont you think he would tell her that he doesnt like her and she can do whatever she wants and would try to hide the fact that he's having an affair(s)
