Chapter 26

Nachiket noticed Ragini had left back everything that he had ever got her. She only took what she bought. There was a note on the dressing table. He hurriedly opened it.

"I knew this was to good to be true. Me being happily married to you. I still tried to push away all negativity but you made my worst nightmare true. I can't even hate you properly because i truly loved you but infidelity is something i can't live with. If you choose to move ahead after the contract i will always wish you well with Rupali or anyone else. But for me the idea of marriage is now ruined. I will just stick to my medical practice. Atleast i know i will be fine there. I have resigned from the hospital. Still in my probation period so there is no notice. I saved us any awkward encounter at work. Good luck with your life. I was the happiest these last 5 months. I wish it would have lasted a lifetime. Take care. Ragini."

Nachiket sat on the floor and held her letter close to his heart. He was so choked with emotions he could not cry. He tried calling her but her phone was switched off. All of a sudden his phone rang

M - beta kya hua. Why is Ragini back home?

N - maa. Its just a misunderstanding. I will make it go away.

M - omg. Ragini just collapsed in her room. Come fast Nachiket

Within no time Nachiket was home. He was too shaken to face her. He called a doctor as he didn't want ragini to get worse if she saw him treat her. The doctor asked for Ragini to be admitted immediately as tests needed to be performed.

This is so sad, but this was inevitable for this time ... Rupali played a dirty trick on them, I just hope NR comes out of this stronger and more emotionally bonded than ever.

Chapter 27

Ragini was unconscious in the hospital. Maa was with her in the room. Nachiket was with the doctors looking at her reports. Ragini was just too weak. Her blood count was very low. She needed to be nursed back to health. Nachiket decided to take care of her. He was determined to make the marriage work. He told maa to take care of Ragini and he went to meet Rupali.

Ru - hi

N - why are you lying?

Ru - neil. Why would i lie about something like this?

N - i know i am not lying for sure. So you are.

Ru - neil deep down you still love me...

N - shut up. I never loved you. I only love Ragini. She was right about you being a selfish gold digger.

Ru -your marriage is over. You have to return to me

N - that will never happen. I promise you

Nachiket left in anger. Rupali was dejected her plan didn't work.

In the hospital Ragini had woken up. Maa had given her some soup. Nachiket asked maa to leave them alone for sometime. He closed the door and sat besides her on the bed. Ragini looked away.

N - rupali is lying. You were right about her being a bad person

R - i don't know what to believe anymore

N - give me one last chance. Move back home. I will prove my innocence

R - i will move in with you if you prove your innocence

N - ok. Done. But you take your resignation back.

R - i will just go on sick leave till you prove your innocence. You have one week. Then i will start looking for a new job

N - you rest for a few days. Don't exert yourself

R - when can i go home?

N - tomorrow i will take you home. The doctor says you will be fine if you eat well and rest

R - maa will look after me. I don't need you.

N - i will take you to maas house only. But i will visit before and after work everyday.

R - just after work. Nachiket don't push me too much

Nachiket smiled at how he had to bargain with her. But he was happy she was giving him a chance

Chapter 28

Ragini was discharged by the doctor. Nachiket drove her to her mothers house. When she was getting out of the car she got dizzy. Nachiket quickly carried her in his arms. She was to weak to refuse his help.

In the room he laid her on the bed. It was very silent and awkward. Nachiket gave her medicines which she had and then asked to be left alone.

N - i will be outside if you need anything

R - you can go home. I will be fine.

N - its your first day home. I will stay

R - no need

M - there is a need. Nachiket get your clothes and stay here for a few days.

R - maa...

M - you dont say a word. Only if you stay together can you solve your problem

Maa left the room

N - what have you told maa?

R - just that we had a fight. I couldn't tell her the truth. It would break her. She is my only family now

N - i am always with you. I am not moving on with anyone even if you divorce me. I will be your shadow all your life if you don't want me to walk besides you.

Ragini was stunned by his words. Nachiket left the room. He went and got his clothes and essentials from his house. Ragini was annoyed to have him over. She kept thinking about rupali and him together. It would not let her sleep.

After dinner Nachiket got into bed but kept to his extreme end of the bed. Around 3am he found Ragini all curled up next to him. He gave up and pulled her in his embrace. She smiled and fell asleep. Nachiket kept staring at her. He had to make this right soon.

The next day after breakfast he went to meet rupali and tricked her into accepting her lie. Little did she know Nachiket had recorded her voice. He went home and made Ragini listen to it.

R - did you ask her to cover up for you?

N - how can you say that? After all this time together. You don't trust me

R - i don't trust anyone.

Nachiket stormed out of the house and spent the night in the hospital. Ragini felt she was wrong. But she was also doubting him at the same time. She called dadaji and spoke her heart out.

D - Nachiket is not lying beta

R - are you sure?

D - 200%

Ragini was still unsure. But she decided to trust dadajis opinion. She called Nachiket at work.

R - i want to go home

Nachiket smiled with tears in his eyes.

N - sure. I am coming to pick you just now

R - but its still not all good between us

N - sure. We can work on it
