She stepped into the bathroom, expecting an angry response from Nachiket, He was never the one who could control his anger and she was sure, her screaming response would have greatly enraged him.

Letting go of his spoon, Nachiket threw his hands up in the air, in frustration and murmured "unbelievable!!", in a low voice. Looking for something to help is infuriating mind, he picked up the remote and started fiddling with it. He was about to shout, "tum chahati kya ho Ragini?", when his fingers happen to press a button. A song started playing on TV

"Jab koi baat bigad jaaye jab koi mushkil pad jaaye

Tum dena saath mera o humnawaaz"

Nachiket stopped himself, didnt utter a word. He leaned back in his chair, while Ragini took a few steps towards the bathroom door and stood leaning on to the frame.

"Naa koi hai na koi tha zindage mein tumhaare siva

Tum dena saath mera o humnawaaz"

Nachiket turned to look at her. His brow slightly twisted, forehead delicately wrinkled, his lips barely parted and his eyes reflecting, every word playing in the background. All he wanted, was her happiness and every inch of his body begged her to forgive his past. Ragini stood still, leering deep into his eyes, her head resting on the frame and every inch of her body, trying to fight the brutal reality of his past.

"Ho chaandni jab tak raat deta hai har koi saath

Tum magar andheron mein na chhodna mera haath"

Tears trickled down her cheeks, as she stood eye locked. "Why, why did they have to face such difficulties again and again? why me? why us?" Her eyes tried to find answers in his. Nachiket yearned to stretch out his hand for her, but the guilt still ruled. His eyes pleaded again and again, "you are my life, come back to me".

"Wafadaari ki vo rasmein nibhayenge hum tum kasmein

Ek bhi saans zindagi ki jab tak ho apne bas mein"

Ragini, sank to her knees and started vigorously crying, burying her face in her palms..

He sat there as in a trance, looking at her sobbing, his heart breaking into a million pieces. He sighed deeply, he knew what this meant. He mustered his strength from within and got up. He slid down beside her once he reached the washroom. He pulled her to himself slowly, Ragini resisted initially but slowly her resistance weakened and she hid her face in his chest and sobbed.

Her petite frame wracked with the intensity of her sobs and his hands moved along her back, trying to calm her down.

'Ragini ...' he tried to shush her.

'Why Nachiket why?' she asked, in between sobs.

'Why is this so difficult for us?'

He nodded impercetibly and replied quietly

'Maybe because we love each other so much, and always will ...'
