Nachiket sighed as he took in the vision in front of him - Ragini sleeping peacefully in their bed, the gentle rise and fall of her chest, the small smile he hoped was there because she was thinking of him in her dreams.

He had never been immune to her beauty, not years ago and not now. He thought back to finding her in front of him tonight as if an answer to a prayer, umbrella in hand. The raindrops on her skin had beckoned and he found himself unable to look away as she tried to wipe them away.

In the midst of all these thoughts he found himself standing above her, close enough to reach out and touch her if he so desired..

His fingers reached out instinctively and had almost reached her temple before he pulled them back, careful not to wake her. Before he could do something he would later regret, Nachiket dragged himself to the bathroom, taking one last look at her sleeping figure before he closed the door behind him.

Ragini woke up to the sound of the bathroom latch clicking closed. She felt her hot cheeks; why was she feeling like this? Had Nachiket been near her? She chided herself for thinking about him that way; they may be married, but he was still someone else's fiancee. The mere thought of his being taken made her head heavy, the weight of the truth pulling her back into bed. She snuggled deeper into the pillow, closing her eyes...
