Hello dear readers! Look who is back 😊 First of all, sorry for the delay but we both were very busy hence we had very less time for updates. And as you all know, we want to give it our best shots! Secondly, our story is not going per the current track. The reason for this that we have our own ideas which does not always goes with the current track. However, we do include some elements of the actual show. Let me be a bit more clear:

- Suhaani has met with an accident but not in India, thus Ragini and she have never met.

- Engagement of Nachiket and Nivedita is still ''on''.

- My partner and I did not want to reveal the fake marriage thing but this Nachiket has had his doubts. However he still thinks that Dr. Aman is Ragini's husband.

If anything else is unclear then please let us know. This is just a piece of our ''creativity'' which we love to share with you all.

Enjoy! 😊

"Haa kiya tha Nachiket.. Pyaar kiya tha! Lekin itna kam bhi nahi ki tumhe bhula saku...aur itna zyaada bhi nahi ki tumhe maaf kar saku!" she said as tears rolled down her eyes.

Nachiket was speechless. He sighed and wiped off a tear that was about to reach his cheeks.

"Your turn!" She exclaimed wiping away her tear with smile.

*********************************************************************************************************

Chapter 25

''Saach suna chahti ho ya jooth?'' He asked looking into her eyes.

She gave it a thought for a second and answered then ''Saach...'' Not knowing what to expect.

Nachiket turned his head and stared right in front of him. ''Humare alag hone ke baad mein bhi kuch dino ke liye disturbed tha. Lekin itna bhi zyada nahin. Matlab, haan hota hai aise problems life mein, iska toh matlab nahin ke zindagi wahi ke wahi khatam ho jaati hai. Iss liye, mein ek hospital mein apply kiya aur join kiya. Uske baad I became a very good and well known cardiologist. Sab mujhe pasand karne lage, you know me Ragini. Woh saari nurses and all. Toh basically mein phir se life ko enjoy kar raha tha''

From the corner of his eye, he tried to take a glance at Ragini. He saw her somewhat shocked face and a very small smile appeared on his face.

''Kya hua Ragini?'' Nachiket asked as if he did not know what happened.

''What do you mean kya hua? I am fine'' She tried to hide the irritation and pain in her voice.

Mujhse kyun chupa rahi hoon. Tumhare chehre se saaf saaf nazar aati hai ke tumhe yeh sunke accha nahin lag raha hai.

''Nahin who tumhare expressions aur aankhen toh kuch aur hi bata rahe hain'' He pointed casually to her eyes.

Jab tum jaante ho toh phir aise sawal kyun karte ho.Tum jaante ho ke mujhe yeh sab suna pasand nahin hai.

''Okay fine, suna chahte ho toh sun lo... I don't care ke tum 15 saalon mein kya kar rahe the. I don't want to know''

Nachiket tried not to smile but the way Ragini reacted to his story was very amusing and he loved this side of hers, it made her look cute.

''Kahin tum jealous toh nahin ho rahi ho? Matlab, kya abhi bhi who purani Ragini tumhare andar mein hai joh mujhe doosri ladkyion ke saath baat karte huye nahin dekh sakti''

''Pehle toh woh 'baat'' nahin 'flirt'' kehte hain...aur...aur doosra...''

Nachiket looked at her waiting for her to finish what she wants to say.

''Woh Ragini ab nahin raha, mujhe kya ke tum doosri ladkiyon ke saath kya karte ho'' She looked away while she said, not wanting to face him because he would know that she was lying.

He sighed and moved to sit closer next to her. With his right hand he gently held her chin and made her turn around to look at him. ''Meri taraf dekho Ragini''

She met his eyes and saw a little smile playing on his face.

''Tumhe yeh sab accha lag raha hai? You think this is funny?'' She said unbelievably.

''Funny nahin toh aur kya hain? Ragini, tum apne aap se jooth bol sakti ho lekin mujhse nahin. Tumhara reaction se pata chala ke who purani Ragini abhi bhi zinda hai. You know the jealous wali types''

''Toh phir who kya tha?'' She asked quietly.

''Tumhe kya lagta hai ke woh kya tha...saach ya jooth?''

How she wished it would be a lie but then it could be true too. Maybe his love for her was not that great after all which is why he moved on so quickly and easily.

''Mein chahti hoon ke...mera matlab hai ke mujhe lagta hai ke woh sab jooth tha''

''Wow, kya baat hai. Agar tum mujhe itne acche se jaante ho toh phir kyun kehte ho ke woh purani Ragini ab nahin raha''

''Toh phir saach kya hai, Nachiket?'' She asked in anticipation.

Nachiket moved a bit closer. Their faces were just a few inches away. Nachiket being so close to her was not making things easy for both of them. Ragini tried to control her breathing. This was the closest he had been ever since he has come back into her life...as the father of their kids and perhaps even more...

''Saach toh yeh ke mein zinda tha lekin jee nahin raha tha...'' He replied in a soft whisper.

She wanted to throw her arms around his neck and hold him for the longest time but she couldn't, she just couldn't...

He let go and leaned his back against the arm of the couch, but still sitting close enough to feel each other's warmth.

''Tumhe bhulani ke koshish ki thi mein lekin bahot jald mujhe pata chala ke humare zindagi mein kuch aise log aate hain joh humare zindagi mein hamesha ke liye aate hai. Chahe woh saath mein ho ya na ho lekin dil mein hamesha rehte hai. Tum un logo mein se ek hoon Ragini...''

Ragini could have said something but she saw that Nachiket wanted to say so much more which is why she remained quiet. Not wanting to interrupt him.

Nachiket hesitated for a minute whether to continue or not but he had to do this. Who knows if he might get this chance another time or not? It was now or never, he had to pour his heart out... no matter what...

''Yeh saach hai ke soon I was one of the well-known doctors of New York. Ghar, paisa, status, cars sab kuch tha humare paas. Everything was going good aur bacche bhi khush teh...Lekin har muskarahat ke peeche aakhein ke naami bhi hote hain''

''Toh kya bacchein khush nahin teh?'' Call it a mother's instinct, care or love but that was the first thing Ragini could think off when Nachiket mentioned the sad part of his story.

''Tumhe kaise pata chala ke mein bacchon ke baat kar raha hoon?'' He looked to his side.

'Maa hoon Nachiket, bas pata chalta hain..''

Nachiket continued. 'Yes, mein bacchon ke baat kar raha hoon. Mujhe aisa laga tha ke woh khush hai, matlab kya nahin tha unke paas. Freedom, paise, zindagi ki har aish or aram. Lekin...''

Ragini became worried now. All kinds of scary thoughts were running through her mind. 'Lekin kya Nachiket?''

''Lekin zindagi mein woh saab kuch nahin hota nah...Matlab, they were missing something...or rather someone'' He looked at her and she instantly knew what he meant.

''Pam toh thi wahan...''

''Of course Pam thi, in fact she gave 15 years of her life and sacrificed a lot for them. Pam kya nahin kiya bacchon ke liye. Pyaar, affection, care, everything''

Ragini felt suddenly a rush of guilt and jealousy. She felt guilty because she was not there for her kids when they needed her the most and jealousy because she was the one who had wanted to do all those things.

''Toh phir woh khush kyun nahin teh?''

'Maa ka affection, maa ka care aur maa ka pyaar sabse alag hota hai Ragini. Woh ek aise kamhi yeh joh ek baap ya phir doosri aurat kabhi poori nahin kar sakti hain. Aur phir tum toh Pam ko jaanti ho''

''Tum bhi toh waha teh Nachiket...''

That hit him hard. She was so right, yes he was there yet he wasn't.

''Haan mein waha tha. Aur mujhe saach mein laga ke mein ek acche baap ho lekin pechle dinho se joh bhi kuch hua tha...''

''What happened in these days Nachiket?'' Ragini asked him not sure what he meant.

He looked at her and quickly looked away. It was only then when he realized that she did not know about Suhaani staying with him and her accident.

''Matlab, yahi ke Aagham ko dekho ke woh yahan kitne khush hai. Tumhare saath time spend karna usse bahot accha lagta hai. Yeh sab mujhe realize kar diya ke baap ho ya na ho lekin jab maa ka pyaar na ho toh bacchon ke zindagi affect hota hai''

Ragini felt helpless. She had never seen this vulnerable side of Nachiket. He usually was the kind of man who would prefer not to talk about his feelings so openly. Even with her, most of the time, he would just behave as if nothing was bothering him but Ragini knew that with a bit of pushing she could pull it out of him and make him talk. But today, she did not have to do any of that. These years of loneliness had surely affected him too...

''What had we done Ragini? Yes, we had our differences, issues and problem aur issliye humare divorce hua tha lekin bacchon ka badwara?! Uss waqt shayad humein yeh sab theek lag raha tha lekin yeh tum bhi jaanti ho aur mein bhi ke humare zindagi ki sabse ghalat faisla tha...''

Nachiket was not the kind of man who would cry very easily but somehow this moment, sitting right here next to her in the darkness, made his eyes become moist.

Ragini had a lump in her throat. She just wanted to cry and let it all out but she did not want to become so weak in front of him especially not now when she needed to be strong...for him.

''Yeh saach nahin hai Nachiket ke bacchon ke zindagi se baap na hone ke koi farq nahin padta. In fact, farq padta hai. Bahot farq padta hain. Ek baap ka saaya hona bahot zaroori hota hai. Kyunki kabhie kabhie ek maa ladte ladte kamzor padh jaati hai aur jab bacchon ko sambhal lene ki liye koi nahin hai toh phir kami mehsoos hoti hai...Bahot mehsoos hoti hai...''

A tear dropped down from the corner of her left eye. Without hesitating, Nachiket moved his hand towards her face and wiped away the tear. Gently he cupped her face with his right hand and let it there for a few seconds. He was feeling the moment, the touch that he had longed for those years. Thank you God for letting me be here...for her.

After many long years, Ragini felt the warmth of his touch. Even though it had been a long time, she could never forget his touch. Thank you God for letting me be here...for him.

Both were enjoying the moment, their moment. It was still dark but the presence of each other made them forgot about the darkness because of this moment the light in their lives had lit once again...

Ragini broke the silence. ''I am a bit thirsty. Tumhe paani chahiye?''

Nachiket let go and composed himself. ''Yes please. Mein lekar aata hoon''

''Nahin tum rehne do, I will go and get it'' Ragini was about to stand up but was being stopped by Nachiket.

''No you sit, tumhara pher abhi theek nahin hua hain'' He made her sit back and went to the kitchen to get some water.

Nachiket ke baaton ko sunte sunte mein apni pher ka dard bhool hi gayi thi. Shayad iss liye kyunki joh dard Nachiket ke baaton mein tha woh mere liye kahi zyada matter karti hai...

After a few minutes Nachiket came back with a tray in his hands with two glasses of water on it. He positioned himself next to her, not moving an inch away from her.

''Yeh lo madam, aapka paani'' He handed over the glass of water.

''Thanks'' She replied with a soft small smile.

Nachiket looked around the house and tried to see what time it was but the darkness of the room made it impossible.

''Kya doondh rahe ho?'' Ragini tried to follow his gaze.

''What time could it be?''

''Kyun tumhe neend aa rahi hain?''

''Nahin mujhe nahin, in fact tum toh mere aadat jaante hoon. I can stay awake till very late'' He leaned back and took a sip of water.

''Haan jaanti hoon, aur kabhi kabhi mujhe bhi sone nahi dete tum''

He looked at her to see whether she even knew what she had said or not. Clearly she had no clue.

''Agar tumhe sone deta toh phir aaj humare 4 bacche nahin hote'' He give her a smile and winked at her.

It was only then that she realized what she had said and what he meant. Luckily, the redness on her cheeks couldn't be seen otherwise Nachiket would have made fun of her. But of course, Nachiket knew that she was blushing like crazy...yes, he still had that effect on her.

Ever since this conversation had started she wanted to ask him something. The only problem was she was not sure to ask him or not for two reasons; she did not know how to ask him and most importantly, she was afraid of his answer. She was in this deep thought and frowned. He saw this and he knew that something must be worrying her.

''Hmm, kya baat hai Ragini? Koi pareshaani?''

She came out of her thoughts and looked at him. Just ask Ragini, he had asked you the same so go for it. Nachiket waited for her to say something.

''Tum...tum aur...kya tum...'' Ragini hesitated.

''Ab bolo bhi Ragini. You can ask me anything'' He tried to relax her.

She took a deep breath and went for it. ''Tum aur Nivedita kabse ek doosre ke saath hai?''

Oh God, mujhe yeh bhi nahin pata ke mein yeh sab sun paoogi ya nahin. I should have never asked him.

Nachiket was not surprised, at all. Yes, he knew that Ragini was not particularly fond of Nivedita but he also knows her too well. If he can ask about Dr. Aman then even she can ask about Nivedita and there it was...

''Bas itna sa?''

''Itna sa matlab? Mein tumhare tarah nahin hoon joh apni ex-wife ko directly uske pati ke baare mein pooch teh ho'' She said in her own defense.

Nachiket chuckled a bit. ''Well, you know me Ragini. Mein aisa hi hoon'' He replied very casually.

''Haan haan jaanti hoon. Ab bolo'' She said with a bit too much of eagerness in her voice.

''Kya baat hai Ragini, tum toh bahot uchal rahi ho mere aur Nivedita ke baare mein jaane ke liye'' He acted surprised.

He was right. Why was she so eager to know about that Nivedita and him? Her and Dr. Aman's story was fake but knowing Nachiket he actually might have moved on...

Nachiket started to talk. ''Mein Nivedita ke saath contact mein nahin tha. In fact, I met Nivedita here in Mumbai again after so many years. She stayed with us aur iss liye mein phir se uske saath baat karne laga. As simple as that''

Ragini was listening very sharply. ''Aur woh engangement ki announcement?'' She asked carefully.

Nachiket looked at her. ''Some of us have already moved on so why not me...''

Ouch, that hurt Ragini.

''Do you love her? Pyaar karte ho usse?'' Before she knew it, Ragini had already asked him.

''Agar yeh sawal mein tumse poochoon?'' He looked deep into her eyes and deliberately put his hand on top of hers.

Not wanting to answer his question, Ragini got up and walked to the bedroom. ''Bahot raat ho chuki hain, I am going to sleep. Tum bhi so jao Nachiket''.

''Meri sawal ke jawab dene bina tum so nahin sakti, Ragini'' He said determinedly.

She stood still at the entrance of her own bedroom and turned around. She could see glimpses of his handsome face through the ray of candle light. She knew him too well, he wouldn't let her go so easily.

''Humare zindagi mein bahot log aate jaate hain. Kuch log dost ban kar, kuch log dushman ban kar aur kuch log humsafar ban kar. Ab tum apne aap ki liye decide kar lo ke kaunse log, apne dil mein, kis tarah ke jaaga dena chahte ho. Mein decide kar chuki hoon...'' And with that she turned around the doorknob and went inside the bedroom, closing the door very carefully behind her. But not before she took one last glance at him.

Miss Ragini Patel, jawab dene ke liye bahot shukriya. Mein nahin jaanta ke Dr. Aman tumhare zindagi mein kya maine rakta hain. Woh zaroor ek acche doctor, ek acche caretaker aur shayad ek acche dost bhi honge, lekin woh tumhara humsafar toh kabhi nahin ban sakta hain. Shuru se hi mere mann mein ek doubt tha lekin aaj tum ne woh bhi clear kar diya. Mein nahin jaanta ke tum Dr. Aman se shaadi kyun ki, lekin mere liye jaana itna kaafi hai ke pyaar tum usse kabhi nahin kar paooge. Aur karoge bhi kaise...tum aaj bhi mujhse pyaar karti ho Ragin Patel. The one and only Nachiket Khanna...

He got up, lied down on the couch and closed his eyes.

Nachiket was relieved. He knew from the beginning that love could not have been the reason for Ragini's marriage to Dr. Aman. He was a good man and Nachiket could see that Dr. Aman cared for her; in fact love could be clearly seen in his eyes. But that was not his main concern. The thing that kept him worried was that he never saw the same love in her eyes for Dr. Aman and today even that worry was gone...

This thought and whatever Ragini had just said, gave Nachiket a new hope; a determination to win her over again, a wish to get back together, a hope to work everything out, a desire to make her his...again.

Wowww!!! Narges! This was awesome yaar!! How do you manage handling their emotions in such a perfect way every time!

Nachiket moved a bit closer. Their faces were just a
few inches away. Nachiket being so close to her was
not making things easy for both of them. Ragini tried to
control her breathing. This was the closest he had been

''Saach toh yeh ke mein zinda tha lekin jee nahin raha

She wanted to throw her arms around his neck and hold
him for the longest time but she couldn't, she just
couldn't...

Now what to say about these beautiful lines..I was literally holding my breath like kya karne jaa raha hai ye😆

Nachiket's reaction worked out really well 👏
Their Dil ki baatein were not left unheard..they were listening to each other.. feeling their feelings...EPIC!

And those last lines...ray of hopes! Just wow! Kudos to you!

first and foremost...👏👏👏 for a brilliant work

and secondly .👏👏👏 for getting inspired from a plot and show that offers no inspiration whatsoever in terms of story or character ...

i took out time and read the whole series in one go..and it was worth it...this is the mature love story we want to see ,this is the neil and ragini you hope to see...this is the love you wish to see...words,emotions are the vehicle that carry your feelings ...it is like that sweet love letter you dream of...so overwhelming and heart touching

love creeps in it never explains its presence...but every small gesture symbolizes that love story you weave...and this is exactly what your story has so subtly delivered

i just wish someone would take this ,with your permission and make a story onscreen with it...only if NB would shed that arrogance and do it ..we would be eternally obliged...

thank you so much for such a wonderful read...God bless you girls 🤗

I am actually lost for words...this means so much to my partner and myself. How do we thank you for such an encouraging and lovely comment! Sorry that it took some time to read all of it, we are planning to make an index so it gets easier to read all the chapters. But thank you for taking out the time and effort to do so 😊 Really, it is because of your and other's support and love that keeps us going. We try our very best and it has paid off till now! 😳

Keep reading and enjoying! 😊

Narges, that's such an excellent update.
As somebody mentioned, this is how a mature plot needs to be handled - I could almost visualize the scene in front of my eyes.

This was so poignant and beautiful. NR needs this interaction, this heart-to-heart discussion about how life has been for them and the kids in these 15 years. They should also acknowledge how some MUs and miscalculations have squandered away the family- how it has been a collective failure.

Really appreciate your efforts, knowing how de-motivating things are at present.

Now, it is upto Ragini.
