It topped TRP charts for a long while nevertheless lol. The story+the idea needs to connect with the actual television audiences finally, otherwise online janta would have been able to sink Saath Nibhana, Sasural Simar Ka etc long time back lol. If the story doesn't connect with people, it doesn't. Simple as that. Iss Pyaar Ko wasn't that popular or new in India that they will remember the first heroine or the chemistry. If the story works, it will work. Simple as that. Only the absence of Amar Upadhyay as Mihir Virani and his comeback had ever made a major, trackable difference to a television show in the history of Indian Television. Actors are not and will never be bigger than the story, its connection on Indian television, despite this talk of chemistry and what-not. People will watch if the story is solid, couples and all don't mean shit to people lol.
