And they were thinking that they had the heaven of romance waiting for them post-marriage. Khushi pouted in irritation at her own reflection in the mirror as she began undoing the elaborate hair style of her wedding ensemble.
" I was thinking that in this bridal dress, with stars as the witness to our union, we would become of each other forever just as the last vow of marriage states but who knew that there was a ritual where husband and wife cannot even consummate their marriage till the fourth day of their marriage. Arre, even that is uncertain. It can be the fourth day, the fifth day or the sixth day and who knows, another rituals of sorts can pop up like this!" Khushi banged the pin keeping her hair in place after taking it out on the sink's slab in sheer frustration that all their wait for their epic consummation has been burnt by this so-called ritual.
"And Khushi thinks our ancestors were romantic. The person who can makeup this stupid ritual can never ever be romantic. We got married, legally and ritualistically but still we cannot even touch each other forget romancing. And to make sure we are completing the ritual, we have people guarding us. How convenient and comfortable!" Arnav typed away furiously on his laptop as raw fury took over him that he was told or rather ordered that he should not touch his wife till the appropriate mahurat for consummation was decided.
Just as Arnav banged the laptop shut, Khushi walked out the bathroom with all the appeal in the world for she carried the signs of being his forever now. The marital chain dropping right on her bosom made scandalous thoughts run in Arnav's mind and the night dress matching upto the color painting itself on her skin glowing in the subtle moonlight and the the color of the vermilion of his name.
Her face was lit with the glow of love, while her eyes sparkled with affection for him. While their hearts called out to each other, they knew that there were some boundaries they couldn't cross that night. Some of their own territories had turned forbidden to them and now it was in their hands if they want to breach the rule to rush into the fire of passion like a moth or not breach it and be burnt in the fire of longing.
The ritual was followed only by the Raizadas and not the Guptas and Arnav Singh Raizada being ASR had absolutely no idea of any ritual of his own family. Only if they knew about it, they could have mentally prepared for it but alas, destiny had something else in store for them. They had to face the ritual like the warriors on the frontier with no one giving them a demo on how it was going to be.
" Umm..what are we gonna do?" asked Khushi while looking uncertainly at Arnav, but Arnav's eyes had just passion darkening his orbs like never before. That look on his face had managed to put Khushi off guard.
He started moving towards her while she looked at him with confusion and coyness which pulled him towards her all the more. Her hair flew in all directions due to the wind that blew into their room through the open window, just a sher heart was growing restless with his actions.
" Arnav.."
" Shh!" Arnav placed his finger on her luscious lips which his heart urged him to capture with his own, to capture the feeling how it would feel when they would meet after a wait of what seemed like ages through the elaborate rituals.
Khushi looked straight into the brown orbs of his, drowning herself deep into them as she felt everything around them vanish except for each other. No sound except their heaving breaths and pacing heartbeats. Nothing to smell, not those scented candles nor those beautiful rose petals but just the musky smell, typical of Arnav Singh Raizada and the jasmine scent typical of Khushi Kumari Gupta.
They could feel nothing except each other when Arnav cupped her face in his rough manly palms and bringing herself close, so close that their breaths mingled and their heartbeats became one, to lock his lips with hers. They had kissed before but today all they could taste was each other, like never before.
It was just love that lingered in the air in that instant. Nothing else mattered but being in each others' arms and showing the extent of each others' love to each other. Their five senses had surrendered to each other and it was time that their brain surrendered to their senses.
Arnav picked her up in his arms while looking straight into her eyes as every cell of her body yearned for his love that he was willing to shower on her. The cool air had almost no effect on them as compared to their passionate eye-lock which made shivers run across their bodies as current jolted through their spinal cord.
Arnav placed her down as softly as a feather embraces the ground after being flown away by the wind and as she felt the soft mattress underneath her, her consciousness was restored to question Arnav,
" We are not supposed to do this as per the ritual, Arnav."
Still breathless and intoxicated as he drunk in her ethereal bridal glow, Arnav answered in a shaky whisper,
" Iss Pyaar Main Sahi Aur Galat Ka Koi Matlab Nahi Hai, Khushi. Agar Kisi Cheez Ka Matlab Hai Ki Main Hamesha Tumse Hi Pyaar Karoonga. Aur Iska Matlab Yeh Bhi Hai Ki Main Kabhi Aisi Koi Cheez Nahi Karoonga Jisse Tumhe Kisi Bhi Prakar Ka Pida Ho. Agar Tum Yeh Nahi Chahthi Tho Main Tumhara Wait Karne Ke Liye Taiyyar Hoon, Jab Tak Tum Chaho."
Arnav's love for her overwhelmed her as he put aside his own passion, desires just to ensure that she was happy, knowing her love to fulfill rituals. When a love as beautiful as his adorned any relationship, it was sure to shine forever just as sharply as a diamond, which never breaks.
Arnav sat away from Khushi, while Khushi rose up from her sleeping position, cupped his face from the side as she made him look into her eyes to read the expression of love written in the most profound language ever known she bared her heart to him,
" You know Arnav, I heard that every ritual of marriage is to deepen one's love for their partner and this ritual has already fulfilled its duty. And you proved it. Yet again, your love has stolen my heart, Mr.Raizada. This ritual was made so that you get to know about your partner more before taking your relationship to the next level but y soul, my heart and my everything already belong to you, Arnav. Pyaar Ke, Khwahishon Ke Inn Diyo Aaj Bho Bhujne Na Do. I want to be loved, by you in this beautiful night which marked our union. Will you not fulfill my wish?"
" Are you-"
" As sure as the fire burning in us as love, Arnav. Complete me, as you are the one who completes me." Khushi's love-filled words brought a radiant and exuberant smile upon his lips while they realized how true their love was; one was ready to let go of his desires for her, and the another is ready to let go of her customs for him. And what can be a better moment than this for them lose themselves in each other by removing every barrier between them.
Kisses were showered, clothes were discarded, moans accompanied by his groans filled in the room, but their passion at its heights had not faded away. It brought tears to Khushi's eyes yet again that Arnav was once ready to discard his pleasures to ensure that she wouldn't be in pain as it was her first time. Such was the love which would make someone love the pain too.
Amid the hues of passion, desire and love, Arnav and Khushi had become, never to be detached from each other.

Next Morning,
Arnav and Khushi were harshly subjected to the accusing stares of all who assembled in the living room of Shantivan. As Arnav Singh Raizada's non-existent patience broke, he questioned them,
" Yes? Is there a problem? I am not going to office, if you are worrying about that, Di."
" How would you go to your office, Bitua. Even if we wanted you to go, you wouldn't I am sure. After all, you love your wife more than your office or the stupid rituals as you call them." teased Manorama Mami, while Khushi choked herself while drinking water, thinking on how on earth did the news land in the ears of these Raizadas.
" Just to remind you both, as a part of the ritual, the groom's side has to keep a watch on the newly-wed couple and me, Akash & Payal were right at the poolside, monitoring you both in turns but guess what we see, our brother and his wife romancing each other with some of the most cheesiest lines we have ever heard and those lines with those emotions which put all the Bollywood movies to shame. If not for the embarrassment we were facing, we would have barged into your room but we realized we were already late as you had already begun with your sweet process, Mr.Raizada. So how would you want to receive your punishment, given that you have broken the very first ritual post-marriage?" Anjali spoke in the perfectly formal tone as her brother in order to taunt and tease him a better manner, after all you wouldn't get a chance to tease him every single day, even if he is your Chotte.
" Punishment?" Arnav and Khushi exclaimed in unison while Khushi was flushing in deep hues of crimson and Arnav looked flabbergasted.
" Of course, don't tell me that you didn't expect one." Arnav retorted more fast than anyone had expected,
" Don't tell me that you or Akash followed the ritual, Di."
" Just for your kind information Chotte, Shyamji's family doesn't have this ritual and when we were here for the three days as a part of our rituals, we did follow it and Akash had broken it and had faced the punishment too. So no way, you are escaping this, Mr.Raizada." Akash and Payal exchanged shy glances while the rest of the Raizada Family looked at Arnav and Khushi with victorious smirks on their face. Arnav glanced at Khushi, who blushed even more as if it was possible and he realized there was no way out of it, especially if the whole of his family had rounded up on them,
" Okay, so what is the punishment?" Arnav rolled his eyes in defeat.
" Yeh Hui Na Baat. So the punishment is, as fast as you have lost control on each other in your beloved's company, we all want additions to our family. Technically, your punishment will not end till I get a chubby and cute niece or a nephew but not that I mind twins, triplets, quadruplets or anything for that matter and given that your love is so strong and passionate, we wouldn't be surprised if Devi Maiyya decides to give you a bunch of cutey pies at once. Kyun Khushiji?" Anjali winked naughtily at Khushi, who hid her face behind her husband's shoulders and Nani remarked,
" Dekho Tho Kaisan Sharma Rahi Hai. Expectations are soaring high Chotte and Khushi Bitiya. Shubh Samachar Sunn ke Liye Kaam Tho Taras Rahe Hai Abhi Se Aur Hame Gyaat Hai Woh Shighr Hi Prapt Hoga."
Everyone laughed at Nani's quite bold remarks while Arnav smirked seeing Khushi too giggling to that and mouthed,
" You were the one who said we should follow elders' orders right? Are you gonna follow this too baby?"
" What do you think?" questioned Khushi in a low voice so that everyone who had turned their attention to Akash and Payal for teasing wouldn't hear.
" I am always ready, baby. But I wouldn't want twins or anything like that because I want to pamper you, cherish every single time and wait eagerly for every single baby. And since Di wants quadruplets, I think we should have four babies." Khushi's mouth turned into perfect round shape in surprise as Arnav smirked.
" So family planning Chal Rahi Hai, Din Dhahare, Khulle Main. WOW! Ab Tho Aap Hamein Bechain Kar Rahe Hain Bhai!" Akash's comment brought back everyone's attention on Arnav and Khushi while Khushi retorted back at Akash,
" Devar Ji, Aap Ki Bhi Baari Ayegi. Dekhna Ham Kaise Aapki Tang Keechenge Uss Din Jab Rangeehaath Pakde Jayenge. Aur Koi Kyun, Ham Hi Woh Kaam Kardenge."
And the Diye of happiness was lit for ever and ever, as the Diya was supported by the Diya of unconditional love between the members of Raizada Family.
