Seerat, you have hit the nail on the head.
Sanaya Irani made Kushi Kumari Gupta...Singh Raizada unforgettable. I doubt anyone else would have been able to own Kushi the way Sanaya did.
The way Sanaya played Kushi seemed as if this was a real and not a reel character. Sanaya's speech, her mannerisms, her facial features... all came together in harmony to give us Kushi.
Kushi (pun intended) that has stayed with us even after so much time has passed. The affinity we share with Kushi is only due to Sanaya's phenomenal acting skills. I haven't seen anyone use all of their features to get across an emotion or feeling the way Sanaya can. Sanaya knew when to add to an expression and when to withdraw from an emotion to give a perfect shot.
And Sanaya's eyes have got to be the most heartening, soul searching, expression of life that I have ever seen! The life of Kushi, that gave us tears, laughter, sadness, joy, hatred, love...
Cannot say enough about Sanaya and her acting skills...

I just watch khushi whenever I am having a grumpy day and I get all cheerful, grinning ear to ear!

She is versatile because she has done roles totally different. Khushi is a lot like her, yet required a lot of hardwork because Sanaya was not very fluent with the Lucknow accent. But boy did she ace it or what? And then she portrayed two characters totally opposite to khushi and herself. I actually became her fan when I saw her restrained portrayal of Gunjan because it would have been extremely hard for her to pull off the shy, reserved and sensitive girl lacking in confidence. Her versatality was proved again with the subtle portrayal of Paro.

What a fine actress! I am not the fan types, but Sanaya changed that.
...and I have my friend to thank for introducing me to Sanaya.

Thanks Seerat for this gorgeous post

Sush, it is so heartening to see so many different view points on Sanaya. I always love to read what impressed a casual viewer of a show much that he or she ends up becoming a fan of the actor or actress. My story is pretty much similar. I did not see IPK or MJHT when they were in air, got to know about Sanaya and the college show MJHT at a party. I ended up watching MJHT first and then IPK and became a fan for life. Two characters totally contrasting each other and both equally convincing! You are right about the difficulty to portray subtle quiet and shy characters. So though I love the flamboyant Khushi, it is the subtle portrayal of Paro and Gunjan that touches my heart. Kudos to Sanaya for making us fall in love with her with each passing character.

i think sanayas best character was khushi, it just showed everyone that she is a great actress
her chemistry with barun was superb aswell

xsumi, The acting, the chemistry, everything was top notch. The role of Khushi gave her a gamut of emotions to express and explore as an actress and she totally aced it!

Hi Seerat,

Such a lovely post, you say it all, as well. The Gif's are even more amazing. Thank you for being so patient while choosing the best pictures while capturing the various expressions.

Sanaya as an actress is hard working, dedicated and sincere, it reflects in her work on screen. All the characters she has played are different from each other and she captures the essence really well.

The transition from Gunjan to Khushi was a highlight, the fans who followed would know. Khushi left a mark and could connect to all ages, it was a roller coaster ride and everyone liked the character for the very same reasons that have been beautifully described by fellow members here.

She is at the top of her game, given she had the opportunity, or rather grabbed them, with her choice of diverse roles and leaves fans wanting for more.

The best part about her is - She bonds really well with all the actors, in all her shows. Her off-screen persona helps build a compatibility, which transpires to the amazing on-screen scenes.

Zeffy, I loved it! Loved your post!!!!!
Her versatality is seen in how she transitions from one character to another, each one being miles from the other. The transition from Gunjan to Khushi & then to Paro were brilliant. The highlight was when within the same show and in a period of days, she transitioned from Paro to Myrah and didn't skip a beat. We had a new girl with absolutely no trace of the earlier one! Versatality at its best!
Thanks again for your lovely post!

I always watch Khushi on a bad day and my mood will be back up! I have seen so many other bubby characters on TV, but none like KKG. Bubbly and loud characters most of time tend to get annoying, but I never felt that with KKG even in the worst tracks like the peon track. The credit goes to Sanaya for playing it so naturally, without being annoying and on your face.

@Bold Ani that is sanaya for us all , she does everything with finesse n Panache 👏❤️ No doubt she owned KKG😛

All right. Perhaps I'm not the best person to be making a comment here, seeing as to the fact that I have not watched IPK - yet. But I have seen many images, gifs, siggies etc of Sanaya as Kushi. And I did watch IPK.EJ (no we will not go into that fiasco!)

What has stayed with me of Sanaya is her fabulous acting prowess. It has has already been mentioned many times over, her stupendous screen presence, her awesome expressions and her amazing expressive eyes.
But for me, as an International viewer - with no background of anything Indian - of what I have watched of Sanaya, I am clean bowled over by how Sanaya can transmit what she wants to just by being!
When I watched a segment of IPK.EJ, I was able to fathom the myriad of emotional feelings she wanted to portray just by watching her!
Now that, is a mark of a true performer (anyone can act - but not everyone can perform!) To cross cultures and say a million things without saying a single word!
Kudos to Sanaya! I applaud her natural, divinity given gift.
She was born to be a performer.

Oh, this is Sophia.

Sophia, lovely post! I am speechless! What more is there to say? Sanaya has crossed the language and cultural barriers to directly connect to your heart, just by being and through her expressive eyes! Love how you have worded it... She says a million things without saying a word, now that is a natural & born performer.

Well said!! I especially loved what you said about adding to or withdrawing from an emotion to get the perfect shot. Sanaya is very good at adding the fine nuances to her scenes and she makes it look very natural.

Seerat this is really sweet of you, thank you for your kind words, I was no where close to the wonderful posts shared. I am in awe as well, Khushi has made everyone khush, ultimately. 😊

Khushi to Paro - Very impressive, since she had to familiarize herself with dialects and did an outstanding job. Paro to Myrah - Equally tough, given the time span constriction like you have mentioned, I am happy she gets to play a bit of herself too, inadvertently. Leaves a mark, impression for sure.
