Crash Into You(Part-2)
The elections in our college are a huge event. Posters are put up all over the classes. It was like school elections but on a much bigger scale. There were eight major official positions the most important being the posts of Chairperson, Arts Club Secretary and General Secretary. A notice was put up announcing the election dates and inviting the nominations for the posts.
Suvi shot into the college canteen like a rocket from her hostel and said "Did you all see the notice?"
"Yeah, we saw it yesterday" said Priya
"And Guess.." prompted Suvi, her eyes gleaming with excitement and infectious.
"Are you contesting?" I exclaimed
"No you are." replied Suvi
I was stunned. Then I recovered "What? What nonsense! How can I?" A minute later I asked "what post?"
We have already filled up the forms and given your name for Arts Club Secretary." she danced.
I quickly added up "Are you nuts? How can you?"
A minute later they both assured me and said "We will do all the campaigning for you. It will be fun."
"Yeah, right. It is fun for you but not for me as I am the one who is going to stand in front of those people begging for vote."
I was the head girl in school but that is totally different from being the Arts Club Secretary. I was afraid but with the initial embarrassment gone it was replaced by the competitive spirit. My whole class got involved. And in the mean time Priya was nominated for the post of General Secretary. We made fliers and I led them like a true Indian politician. My opponent was a first year pre-degree student. We were now in our second year of Bachelor's degree and naturally our campaign style was much better and more sophisticated. We took our breaks in the canteen between campaign runs for a small chat. And the day came, which we all are waiting for.The auditorium was colorful with paper works and speakers all around. I was a little nervous and my palms were slightly cold, it was time for the announcements, we were waiting for 10 long minutes and finally the announcements were made. I was numb when I heard my name as the next Arts Club Secretary. The next moment I saw my friends jumping around me. And on line Priya was appointed the General Secretary.
With the event over and the announcements made with eight new office bearers. Soon we were already thrust in our first task - Cultural festival 'Symphony" coming up and our college had been invited to participate. We were all eager as race horses before the start of the race. There were at least 15 events. The college buses would take us to the venue which was a good 45 km.
We were in our bus when our new Chairperson Sanjana spoke out "No dirty dancing girls and no short skirts either. We don't want to tempt the boyzzz," 😛as three of us - Sanjana, Priya and I watched the team for western dance.
"You mean like this?" asked Suvi, as she unbuttoned her shirt, thrust out her breasts that spilled out of lacy lingerie and did a near pelvic moment, which earned a laugh from all of us. I began to discover from our seniors that there is a handsome and hot guy named ASR who won all the awards from the last three years. I was all gaga on hearing about him😳😳. Suddenly my senior spoke out to me saying "Don't dream much about him, he is a Romeo."
"Everyone drool over him. He is worth it because of his looks and talent." said Sanjana
I was wondering who that guy was when suddenly the bus haulted. We all got down and were passing through a group of boys. When one of them got my attention. He was cute, his eyes were chocolaty brown, gelled hair. I was like I couldn't get my eyes of him. I was literally checking him out from top to bottom until someone tapped on my shoulder😳. It was our college girls.
"So finally you found him on your own," exclaimed Sanjana😆
"Who?" I said😕
"He, the person whom you are drooling at is none other than ASR."😉
I was spellbound. I didn't expect this guy to be ASR about whom they all were talkin about. He was looking just like a perfect gentleman in his early 20's wearing a suit, sitting on a bike, chatting with his group of friends. One thing which got my attention is his smirk. I swear that one lopsided smirk is enough for a girl to fall for him. I was standing there for good 5 mins when Priya came to me and spoke "He is charming but we can catch up with him later if you wish, right now we have other works to do."
We were inside our dressing room preparing for the events when Sanjana asked "Will we be able to win our western dance competition??"
"Surely we will win." I said
"Yeah, we will. The eyes of Mahaveer boys will pop out," said Priya
Mahaveer college was a co-ed college. It was inside joke that the girls of that college were the best looking , when compared to them we were average. And funnily it was true to the saying when I found a girl she was looking sexy. Girls were gossiping about her and my friends told me that she is ASR's girlfriend Lavanya and Sanjana stressed "Present girlfriend with lots of attitude."😡
It was at the Symphony that day Sanjana introduced me to Dhiren a guy from Mahaveer's college. He is cute and lovable. Dhiren is the Chairperson of his college students union. I introduced myself to him, we were having a small chat until I saw a manly appearance standing besides me. I met his eyes for the first time, I was caught into that spell. My breathing stopped due to the closeness, my heart was racing. The first one to move the eye contact was me when I saw Dhiren smiling. Dhiren introduced me to ASR. And told me that ASR is a great quizzer and even plays music.
He forwarded his hand and spoke out "Hi."
I was nervous for no reason but next second I shook my hand with him covering all my nervousness but when his hand shook me I felt chill running down my spine. He was watching me intently with those eyes observing all my moves carefully.😳
"So what do you do other than being so pretty?" with a killing smirk he asked
"Excuse me!" I answered
"Oh! But it's true. You are really very pretty."
I was amused at his balant and flattery words. No wonder he is a true Romeo.
"ASR stay on your limits." I said
"Please call me Arnav." He protested
I was not able to talk. He was literally flirting with an unknown girl.
"Catch you later guys. We have things to co-ordinate." said Sanjana stepping in to rescue me.
