naah, that article was so incorrect, ipk started off with quite good trps which kept on improving while the storyline, script and characterisation was good. they built everything up slowly and nicely and the trp audience was definitely watching the show for content - it was in the top 3 many times in the first 9, 10 months of the show.
the trps started dipping when the story line became inconsistent, not after the forced marriage which had a really high trp, but after holi when the comedy track started! it didn't really make sense that the characters would behave like that so the trp audience started switching off. at THAT point only they can say that the chemistry of arnav and khushi did carry the show while we kept hoping for better tracks.
after that point we got some good tracks again but the trp audience is very fickle so we never reached those trp highs again. only in the last few months of the show i would say that the chemistry of the leads kept the audience glued because the show became a shadow of its former self and all we were hoping for was arnav khushi romance and some rabba ve's.
but having said all that, even on the worst day of ipk, i still thought it was a million times better than any other show on air at that time! i could watch the dumbest tracks just because the whole casts acting, the music, the direction etc was still good even with a weak story. and of course because barun and sanaya took everything to a whole another level, which i have yet to see any other jodi achieve - so getting 5 or 10 minutes of them in an episode totally made it worth watching! 😛
