A good effort in categorizing readers.

I have been in more than one category. There are many factors which makes me comment the way I do. It can be the nature of update/story eg. if there is a mystery - guessing game starts, if it is thought provoking one - share my thoughts (longer comments), if not able to grasp - questioning comments and at times when I am in a hurry (short of time) to just read the update it is just a LIKE or a one word comment and so on there are many other reasons which make me hop from one category to another.

Enjoyed the post.

This is a brilliant post 👏
I have seen appreciation threads for readers, writers and VM makers but this one left me speechless..You have a very good observation skill😃
I think I also was an onliner once😆...Giving small comments for whatever I read...But due to the asli duniya now Iam not able to do so...So I turned to a liker😳...But I still comment for my fav stories...
At times I turn into spammer and lengthy commentor😆..

Like ur stories, your posts are also fantastic😃
Hugs🤗

The question is- Am I eligible to comment on this thread? 🤔 I am not much of a writer. Err..?!
Anyway, there's no harm in commenting :P

As a writer, I love it if someone comments or likes my work [which is a rare thing :P] So yeah! I think that's the only thing I'm excited about. Also I love it if someone gives me a detailed comment, suggests some changes and points out my mistakes. That just shows their interest my work, it tells me that there are people who are reading each and every word of my update rather than skimming through the text :) And I love all those readers who are vocal about their interest in my story, it doesn't matter if they drop me a comment or a PM. It's good to see them responding.

Bas keh diya 😃

I really enjoyed reading the categories!

I don't think I would have been able to categorize my readers but as I kept reading the ones you have mentioned I easily could remember many names that would fit into the categories! To be honest, I love all of them .. as each of their actions encourage me to certain extent, makes me smile, lifts up my mood, makes me think, makes me question myself ... and whatnot! Those who are silent and also do not "like", I just know they exist and it was wonderful to see a few of them finally coming out of their shell. It made me feel .. kind of .. like achieving something! The readers who demand quicker update .. well, I am actually thankful to them a little more because without them the lazy me usually takes even more time to move my bum. 😳

As a reader, I am sometimes silent .. but I always press like! Sometimes I comment but I never do one liners. I definitely cannot do poems! And I never predict! And I write long comments rarely .. not because I can't or don't want to .. but simply because I can't manage the time. As a reader, I think I am rather flexible .. I can go back to read a story even if it has been updated after a year .. I am not sure where to put myself!

I am loving your posts, Zehra. Turn it into some kind of series .. for readers and writers. It gives a lot of insight into the people that are part of your life .. either because they write and allow you some food for your heart or because they read and make you feel acknowledged about something you love to do. 😊 It may not be possible to interact with everyone personally but it is nevertheless wonderful to know more about them.

Thank you for writing this post.
You are a very talented writer n sweet human too.
The first story which I read was unconditional love n after that I fell in live with your stories.
At that time I was very new to India forums so I only used to hit like button n didn't comment because I used to thought that I am not gathering enough words to praise the writer. Then I realized that it's not about words, only one word like 'awesome' , ' amazing', 'superb' kind of words mentioning in comments are enough for the appreciation of writer. And writers do appreciate that. Then gradually one word turns into one sentence n then to ssentences. And now I write big enough comments n I am happy that those comment are enough to bring grin on writers face n excite them to write more.
I also like reading comments of other readers as well especially the poetic one n the one who comment in the language of Ipkknd cast.
Thank you for creating this thread n giving chance to readers to express their views.
May Allah bless you. :D

well, i am no writer myself so i am writing this post from a readers perspective...

which category do i belong to... i guess i would qualify for long comments one and emoticon abuser(coz i love emoticons!!!)

i liked the way u categorised us readers... and what i like about u is u reply back to us and always like the comments we give u... i always keep on checking whether u have liked it so that i know that yes, she has read the comment!!! and that gives me boost to again comment on ur updates enthusiastically...

so keep on giving us wonderful ideas brewing in ur head ...

I'm more of a reader than a writer. (I'm a new & amateur writer).

As a writer (the little experience I've), I haven't met all kinds of readers yet but yes they all have been awesome and I must say quite lenient with me, motivating me all the time. 😊

I don't know exactly which category I belong to but I know which ones I don't. 😆
I would like to thank you for making this post for us readers.😛
You have brilliantly elaborated all the kinds of readers.
The one category you left is - Lazy readers (No pun intended😛) - Lately I think I also belong to this category. Be it due to sometimes being lazy or busy - but it happens with me. I'm lately having numbers of unread PMs on IF & e-mails as well. Sometimes I take two-three days to read and comment. I'm lazy but vocal, that's the only saving grace for me. And it happens more with works on blogs. I apologise to my dear authors for that.
Being lazy spamming lessons ka bhi koi fayda nahi hua - Iss Laziness ko kya naam doon??
PS: Have you got any antidote for laziness 🤢
PPS: I took more than 15 minutes to share only this much - Now you must know the endless limits of this disease.
PPS2 : Okay the above happened because I'm in office & my boss keeps asking me what am I doing. I'm so dead. 🤢🤢

I love everyone who reads my stories and takes the time to drop in a word, a line, a like or a paragraph, a poem, some spam, words that make me tear up and smile, laugh and fly.

But as a writer, I must say that I am the one who falls short of appreciating just how much those who read and leave their comments and criticism behind do for me. I think very honestly that at least in this medium - I as a writer get more out of this equation than a reader.

An amateur just trying to test a skill she has chanced upon can ask for nothing more than

a reader who stays with her through months as her story unfolds - feeling every emotion the writer wants her to feel and still staying because she is just as committed to the journey as the writer is.
a reader who doesnt shy away from telling the writer what isn't working
a reader who says even if just one word, chapter after chapter without fail
a reader who spams the writer's thread with just one request - an update
a reader who fights for the story as if it was born from her own mind
a reader who fights with the story to make it better, more enriching
a reader who lavishes praise without any expectation and continues to do so chapter after chapter
a reader who reads silently as she does and yet does so without fail

There are moments when self doubt rears its head and I wonder if these readers are still around or if I or my story have driven them away.

It is you, dear reader, who brings me back from there.

I am sorry if I ever hurt any of you
It was never my intention
And never what I wanted to do
Life comes but with its own vagaries
I offer no excuses but just a little thought
I may not know how to make you feel special
I know, however, this much
I am ever so thankful, for all you've brought
