All of us at Blast from the Past wish to thank you for the joy you give us. It is pure, unadulterated, and seems to be pretty endless. Thank you, Barun, for being the actor and the person you are. We do hope your birthday is everything you want it to be. We wish you extreme and supreme success in life.
And here's a little gift from us. We did consider a dozen long stemmed roses, but then figured you'd enjoy this dozen more. It was a regular day at Blast from the Past, thread #12, blazin' blasters discussing all things Iss Pyaar Ko, when BarunDiwani (Ami) said three little words that changed everything. Replying to indi52's, "You and i will... look into soft brown eyes that suddenly flare up in gussa... and take the scenic route to nirvana," she said she was ready to do that because it was becoming impossible not to linger and watch certain scenes repeatedly, thanks to someone's...
"Devastatingly yummy thobda."
indi52 (indi) fell off the chair laughing but agreed, "He makes the word thobda groovy. Gah. Ami, love you for that thobda. Now please explain to Katelyn the nuance of that extreme word." Katelyn who is from the United States was utterly confused by this strange word.
Then wiwy posted a deadly visual, to which Ami quoted a song:
DurgaS (Durga) shot back promptly:
And so in the process of explaining "thobda" came poems, shayari, swoons and more. In between, the whole world claimed the word... Mumbai, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and other more exotic locales. There had never been a more fought over word.
Thobda looked at a young man and said, "Yeh tumne mere saath kya kar diya, Barun."

Since 3 December 2012, the Monday after the show ended, a few of us have been on a happy spree watching Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon all over again at Blast from the Past. Thread #16 is round the corner, it will open on episode 170... Teri Meri Meri Teri... yay.
