Answer to the last question:

No. The female characters in television soaps are too sacrificing, too loving, too forgiving and too over the top. In short they're almost perfect in every aspect of life.

Good to know that your theme has been approved 🥳

Q19. Do you think that female characters in Indian television serials are portrayed well enough? Yes or No, why do you think so?
No, they are NOT. They are shown to be these enduring little cranky human beings who think about everyone except their husbands and them (mostly them). They meddle with everyone's lives and are always like those saviours.. "hero" of the shows. I guess its high time they should potray female characters with some sensitivity- make them stand up for themselves, not crush their ego and most importantly- they CAN be wrong. They are human beings.

Q1 Do you watch Indian Television soaps?

I used to watch a television show- Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon. Other than that I have not watched any show nor do I intend to

Q2 If yes, which is/was your favourite one?

IPKKND

Q3 How often do you/ did you watch this show?

Used to watch it:

Everyday

Q4 Who is/was your favourite female character in that show?

My favorite character in this show was Arnav (male) and Khushi (female). These both characters gradually became what my life revolves around

Q5 Qualities you like in her character?

Khushi- her sweetness and cutness. Her will to do anything and to remain positive. Her undeniably caring attitude to anyone

Arnav- Honestly- his hotness. But also loved his humbleness and indirect caring attitude.

Q6 One thing you do not like about her character?

Khushi- her OTT drama and also how she is very gullible and niave.

Arnav- the way he sometimes treated Khushi horribly

Q7 Do you identify with/ relate to this character?

Khushi- HELL YAAH

Arnav- No actually but I still love him

Q8 If you could live your life exactly in the way your favourite character lives in the show, would you be willing to do it?

If I could live the way Khushi does and eventually get a Arnav in my life THEN HECK YES

Q9 Did you learn anything from that character or were inspired by her in any way?

By Khushi definitely yes

Q10 If yes, what did you learn/ how did it change your life?

Uhh...it's a TV show, not a motivational speech...

The only change it did to me was make me completely obsessed with everything related to the show

Q11 If another character [male/female] in the serial, blames/scolds your favourite female character for no fault of her own, how should she react according to you?

She should stand up for herself and explain that it was not her fault.

Q12 If you are in the same situation in reality as your favourite female character in the question above, how would you react?

You would stand up for yourself and explain that it was not your fault.

Q13 How does your favourite female character dress?

Khushi- In traditional attire[ Saree/Salwar-kameez]

Arnav- Western

Q14 If your favourite female character changes the way she dresses up[ From traditional to western/ From western to traditional] would you still like her as much as you do now?

Khushi- I would like her even more, by god Sanaya would rock that look!

Arnav- He did...I nearly fainted

Q15 What is your choice of clothing

Western

Q16 Have you ever wished that your daughter/ daughter-in-law/mother-in-law or any female relative was like the character in the serial?

HECK NO! By god Arnav's DADI was horrible. If I had anything to fo with her either she would be murdered or me!

But I would love to have a relative like Naniji and Anjali!!!

Q17 Have you ever tried to imitate your favourite character in reality? [Sense of dressing, behaviour or talking]

For Khushi Yes...I even bought a suit like hers from online

Arnav- uhh that would be plain wierd (I'm a chick..not a dude) but I did copy his famous dailogue 'what the'. Its in my everyday language now

Q18 Any specific reason as to why you watch a particular serial?

Go see the male leads face..you will know why 😉

But in all honesty, the characters were amazing and the plot was shown perfectly! Also I loved loved loved both the main leads chemistry. It was a perfect show <3

Okay *no offence*
as much as i Have wathed Indian serials (4 or 5 )...No Indian Women are not portrayed well...They are shown like at extremes...i mean Either there is too much evil side to their personality or too much goodness or naivety...
Even Khushi's character was like this...Extremely sacrificial,,innocent,,naive...
*my opinion may be just due to fact that i Have watched mainly saas bahu serials...hehehe*

Watch(ed)? I do.

Saturday/Sunday ko youtube pe 😆

Q4 Who is/was your favourite female character in that show?

Khushi :D

Q5 Qualities you like in her character?

She has massive self confidence. She won't take your BS and she won't let you get away with insulting her. And even if she's hurt, she tries to be strong. She's not dramatic, which is a major change considering our Gopi Vahus and all 🥱

Q6 One thing you do not like about her character?

Excessive loyalty to family. Period.

Q7 Do you identify with/ relate to this character?

Yes/No

Q8 If you could live your life exactly in the way your favourite character lives in the show, would you be willing to do it?

Yes/No

Jeez. Technically no, but if that means living with You-Know-Who, then 🤣🤣

Q9 Did you learn anything from that character or were inspired by her in any way?

Yes/No

Q10 If yes, what did you learn/ how did it change your life?

Don't ever take BS from anyone, even if he's someone you love 😆

Q11 If another character [male/female] in the serial, blames/scolds your favourite female character for no fault of her own, how should she react according to you?

She should listen to the scolding quietly and respectfully.

She should stand up for herself and explain that it was not her fault.

She did both 😳

No

Q17 Have you ever tried to imitate your favourite character in reality? [Sense of dressing, behaviour or talking]

Yes

No

Q18 Any specific reason as to why you watch a particular serial?

It's the single serial I really watched because it had a way of balancing the drama and the logic. I liked the chemisty ☺️, I liked the cast and moreover, I think the characters were exceptional. I am yet to find a character as strong as that of Arnav's. Their backgrounds, their moods, their flaws, their habits .. it's unparallel. (Well, to me at least 😳)

Q19. Do you think that female characters in Indian television serials are portrayed well enough? Yes or No, why do you think so?

Absolutely not. Definition of the word female in their dictionary means loyal, BS-taker-without-complains, preferably housewife, family-servant, ridiculously traditional. Some of them are modern but that has it's limit too. I wish they'd show more along the lives of career women, and not just business women but service woman as well. I WISH 🥱
