Aaah well! A great, great post. 🤗
IPK was all about surprises if we think about it, some pleasant.. some err.. not so pleasant, some absolutely revolting!
Needless to say, the good ones left us all speechless. Because surprises are always fun, and when they are pleasant ones.. especially in IPK - oh! you can imagine 🤪
Well, there were a hell lot of moments, Rabba ves and scenes that left me speechless and still after watching the show 5th time, I cant help feeling a little surprised watching them.
I'll list out my top favorites -
1)
The Teri Meri dance promo. - That was one helluva promo, man! I mean unlike other ArHi epic moments (read Diwali kiss. etc.) there was not a huge buildup to this particular dance sequence. Like, what? .. we had Arnav and Khushi - classic style .. bickering like Tom&Jerry like they always did over winning the sangeet. An awesome Khushi-style dance on 3 songs, with a usual Arnav mesmerized look which was easily forgotten since we were used to Arnav's selective amnesia by then.. and this is why NO one expected Arnav to go ahead and dance with Khushi (in such a sensual way, might I add *wink*) and act totally out of character. I remember staring open mouthed at my TV screen long long time after the promo ended.
2)
The first poolside kiss - I was just getting used to the fact that Arnav Singh Raizada had actually danced with Khushi infront of everyone.. without feeling guilty about it or having any regrets and Bada bing! The CVs threw a bomb with the kiss. That, I remember was a precap and then all hell broke loose on IF and in my IPK-crazed mind.

The phone ''I love you..'' - Hmm. Thankfully I was away from IF for a a pretty long time to have NO idea about this particular development. And when it came, sweet mother of god - was I relieved or what? I think this was the part that kept me glued to IPK even during the kidnapping track.

The real ''I love you dammit!!'' - Well, whenever I think of ArHi and passion - this is the scene that comes to my mind. Yes, because it had every element of IPK - the difference in their beliefs (how Khushi believed in all rituals and customs and Arnav strongly opposed them), how throughout the entire scene Arnav remained true to his character - angry as hell, and Khushi - resilient as ever. While I was still mulling over how serious things had become with these two just after an episode of lighthearted scenes, bed breaking and Arnav's usual teasing - I heard Arnav Singh Raizada say the magical words - albeit ASR style - LOVE YOU DAMMIT! That was my undoing, I was literally jumping on the bed and crying out loud like a banshee.
5)
The Consummation episode - Yes, not just the particular scene - the whole episode was a surprise. You see, I had not been a fan of the then recent and infamous towel dance - and I remember criticizing the CVs in the worst possible ways for butchering my show at the same time vowing to stop watching IPK for some time. But well, the addict in me couldnt control and I found myself sitting in front of my TV the next day at 8:00 pm sharp. And then everything was a haze. My eyes just got wider and wider and my jaw had pretty much touched the floor by the time the episode got over. And needless to say, youtube was my new favorite website.

The Re-marriage - As much as I was waiting for separation, and rather expecting it considering the buildup during the whole week .. I found myself completely relieved,surprised and happy all at once to see Arnav coming back to marry Khushi. It was a emotional moment, and I was almost expecting some or the other character come up and say the usual - ''Yeh shaadi nahi hogi!' and stuff.
There were many many others, but I started watching IPK from Jan 2012 (Payash Sangeet time) and joined IF much later .. so those surprises were not as huge as the above listed ones. So, yeah. that was my list.
