I think if the story went like this and they bought Barun back at the end to end the show with ARSHI would have been ok! But they could also have concentrated on Anjali's love story and also on Nk's partner! It would have made interesting viewing!!
I think TRP was to dictate the future course of the story! IF people were seen to accept the pairing of Sanaya and Viraf, then they may have continued with K falling for him!! But if not, then show Arnav come back! He didn't die etc, and end the show with an ARSHI reunion!! Either ways it was tricky!!
But I agree with another comment on this thread that they butchered Anjali's character when she asked for more screen space! Payash got totally neglected and the tracks of both bubbly and Sheetal were totally useless! The makers had lost their way! They could have developed side tracks that interest the viewers so even the leads get a bit of pressure taken off! But they didn't do that!! So the leads and their chemistry remained the selling point!!
Lose this, and you have lost the money angle of the show! ARSHI played by SARUN!! Therefore ending the show though painful was probably the right decision!! Just could have done it a lot better if they had planed it well in advance!! The makers and even the channel should have realised that they should do a happy ending by December!!
They should have closed all the tracks and bought the show to a logical end! The audience should not have had to demand for them to do their job right!! They should have realised that the USP of this show was ARSHI, do not having one if them in the show would NEVER work!!
