I have never watched Hindi shows before, being an Indian, simply because most of them deal with kitchen politics or melodrama and the few good ones derail in a few months. My best friend strongly suggested this show. I had then mocked at the title and told her with conviction that this will follow the same league. After a lot of persuasion, when I saw the episode where Khushi gets stuck in the construction site, I was zapped.
Here is a woman who had the guts to push and yell at the boss, questioning his beliefs. Here was a guy who was on the borderline of being dark, did not care about anyone other than his sister and family. Who even after realising his fault, was too proud to admit of it. Love hate stories are common, but looking at the leads, I felt they were redefining chemistry on screen. When the episode proceeded to show Payal shouting at Arnav, I could relate to her being an elder sister and being protective about my younger sibling. The show started growing on me with me relating to it, analysing it, comparing with it at every stage.I had no complaints through most of the tracks. Even the kidnapping one was fine with me as I had the assurance that they would reunite, I saw a woman reaching all limits to get her husband back. The Anjali track was something I couldn't relate too; I just couldn't understand how the sweetest person started turning grey. Shital track made me want to cry ''Where on earth is the show''.Coming from a family where both my parents do not watch soaps, it was surprising when this norm in the house changed to accommodate ipkknd as a family show. My sis and I yet can not believe that my parents enjoy it. Lovely memories will remain but at 8 IST I better immerse myself in my studies to get rid of the nostalgia.Oops its a long post.
