While it was no secret about Sobti's intentions to quit the show, its the first time the channel has released a press statement to media outlets on the same. When talking to Raj Baddhan – Co-Founder of BizAsia, Sobti explained that he was taking an extensive break from the show due to personal reasons. He said that the grueling filming schedule has taken a toll on his health. He also said that he may look at film projects at a later date. He also confirmed that he has already filmed his final scenes and that the exit of his character will coincide with a twist in the storyline.

If he left for Bollywood then I'd be very disappointed with him. Bollywood is a very tough place, you need the right connections, be seen at the right place with the right people and also be willing to negotiate your way through PR. Most importantly you need to be flexible (if you know what I mean). Barun doesn't tick any one of the boxes. He needs serious brushing up of his public speaking skills. He lacks charisma and the way he has been looking these days, he wont he even get cast in Devdas 2.

Why give up something so successful for something you eventually will fail at? Except for Ram none of the actors have managed to come back from movies to do anything worthwhile (and Ram didnt even appear in popular movies). Barun will also disappear, his fame will be over in no time.

Out of sight out of mind, people will move to the next best thing. For all his hype he has never been able to pull audience to view the show by himself. He lacks star quality.
