See viraf is not a big actor in tv world..mahi way was a great show but failed and I don't remember him much liked the main lead more there.. The boss..it was a female script all the way...the guy had as much role as nk has in ipk...

He knows the fans are creating pressure.. The show is going together closed..he is actually helping our cause by enraging the fans...

The fans loved abhaas... Gosh I miss him too. Though they hated Shyam..

The channel wanted the PH & the actor to 'resolve' the situation internally. However, as InDi eloquently pointed out the backlash to the announcement of the 'longish break' was unexpected & the channel was blindsided. The other big piece here is that the PR side of it was and continues to be a debacle because there is absolutely no credible damage control on anyone's part. STAR is aware of who Sobti is, but thus far, they have been silent because of 1) SPL, and 2) They are looking at every angle of the financial implications here. They now have to go back to the drawing board to see how viable this show is if Sobti leaves. That's the bottom line. In the meantime, they are hedging & buying time, while the PH tries to play with viewer sentiments with these inane leaks about future tracks, including the cliched death scene, Sobti's non-existent movie offers, interviews, unsubstantiated articles in the press, etc, etc.

Unfortunately, Viraf Patel is only adding fuel to the fire via social networking sites by making light of the situation at various people's expense; is this publicity necessary?

If Sobti is leaving on his own accord--for whatever reason--and it was confirmed, what would prevent STAR from making a definitive statement to put an end to the matter? This would not be the first time a lead--no matter how popular--would be leaving a show...At the very least, STAR should have imposed a moratorium two weeks ago on everyone involved from speaking to the press or publicly on the issue while they sorted the matter...

Doesn't leave much faith in its business practices, does it?

i am not the crying at movies sort. and i was one of those very very few people who did not much care for 3 idiots.

but as "behti hawa sa tha wo, udti patang sa tha wo..." played over the opening scenes of the sbs interview with barun sobti on his last day on ipk sets, i could feel tears welling up.

once before when i lost someone that song had touched funny places inside. that one had gone forever.

this time, i hope that will not be the case. a beautiful interview. did i notice a little maturing of our behti hawa and udti patang? he categorically denied taking a break during the mamr shoot. said he'd worked two shifts and never gone away. i am glad to hear him say that. a bit tired of the story of how many people did him how many favours. ipk wouldn't have been the phenomenon it became without barun sobti.

life is not a movie. people sometimes go away. and don't come back.

he looked so damn good and spoke just the way he is. was great to see him. wish him a wonderful break. i liked that: ipk gave him one and a half years of a really good time. is there a writer in that funny boy?

this is exactly what i felt while watching that SBS segment! Ditto!! From behti hawa to that honest "one and a half years of good time"! But would have never been able to write or say it the way you have! Yes, i did see the maturing of him!! He has had enough of bearing the cross. This has been a learning experience for him...the emotional fool, phangurl, haarmonal girl that i am, i would be very happy when this boy who has put a smile on my face will rise above all this and will successfully chase all his dreams.
