SP has no near plans of ending IPK.
This may sound very materialistic and calculative but IPK is a profitable business venture. It is bringing in revenue. Now it would be rather foolish to believe that people on If comprise the bulk of the audience. The audience, the majority demands a good story, lots of twists and turns and larger than life drama, melodrama.
It would be suicidal on SP's part if they consider ending the show without even giving the new storyline a chance. It won't take long to chuck it if it fails to generate revenues for them. IPK has an audience in the form of young women. They want to tap on this and see if they can make it work.
Agreed that there is a fan following of BS. But is it really that big that people would stop watching? I am not talking about people on IF. They are extreme.
I am sure if you give the audience a good story and a good looking lead both female and male you have a winner in your hands. On the rival channel at the same time slot there is another show which was in dumps. Now they have brought in a new lead and people are tuning in to watch the show again because the storyline has improved, there are twists and turns, and a lot of melodrama which people love to watch. So people who had given up on the show and had stopped watching are tuning into watch it now.
If a new storyline and a new lead can bring about such a change in the attitude of the audience, why can't IPK? PH is very much capable of doing it and bringing in the desired changes and re creating the magic. They have done it in the past. No reason why they can't do it again.
So from a business point of view it would be really very foolish on SP's part to simply give in to the sentiments of a small crowd and take such a risky decision of ending a revenue generating venture without even giving it a second chance.
Sorry about that long rant.
