Bass!!! Bahut ho gaya!
So, Sobti boy is all set to bid adieu (or not!... Pata nahi yaar!š¤¢) but honestly, do we have no say? Us? The viewers? The fans? I thought over this all night, woke up at every hour to check IF, growing more morose as I read post after post... I want to convey both sides of the coin and want you to read till the end. Because at the end of the day, I am one normal IPK fan who has been crying over the news all night.
WHY I THINK IT IS FINE IF BARUN WANTS TO QUIT:
1. That actor is so damn talented. Being on only one show and playing the same character for over a year (as Sanaya says) is monotonous. It restricts the scope of all that this man is capable of. If he wants to explore greener pastures, it is his life and his choice!š
Now, if tomorrow let's say some random person tells you to become a doctor because he loves you and is unwell, will you become that doc?š You would be like, "Um... that is great! But I don't even know you personally!" So if you can have career choices, why can't he?
2. The shelf life of actors in Bollywood is subject to change. One day, you might rule the roost, but come crashing the next day. In any case, we remember that in Noreen Khan's first interview Barun was pretty clear that his goal is Bollywood. And he is getting it! So why would he let go a very good film offer that can promise him a stable place?āļø
3. Every person on earth thinks for himself. Man is a selfish being. While you keep pleading and petitioning, you too are acting selfish. TV is entertainment to you. Yes, you have become attached, and we all are! But this is Barun's life! Not just a passing phase. And everyone wants to progress.šš¼
BUT...!
Having said all of the above, I cannot help but mention that the fame and popularity has happened only because of us viewers. He says so himself! That the audience watch the show, and thence the adulation...š
1. We voted like crazy in all the random polls, award shows and everything that we were asked an opinion about. The very same award shows that he does not often attend. I remember voting for PCA a day before my exams.š
2. We gave him the love, affection, respect and all our admiration for being such a wonderful person at heart. For being so simple, down to earth and supportive even when the TRPs were going downhill. Same goes for every single person on IPK cast who decided to desert us. But we didn't complain for a really long time. Not even when the PH made a mockery of our feelings while asking for story ideas and tracks.
3. We said that we love you with your Balwant Kaur, dirty vest and "What the"s despite giving the most "bekaar interviews" (and I quote Sanaya from SBS), and stuck with you.š The biggest proof of our dedication is the fact that you were not on the show for 40 days but we supported you. We lived in the wake of your promise that you will be back. Could you have hoped for such a phenomenal, persevering audience?
WHAT WE ASK OF YOU NOW...
Please help us make and preserve the memories. Please come and bid a proper goodbye. Please promise your viewers that when we become your ex-viewers, you won't forget us. I might sound like a desperate girlfriend, but heck, please don't ridicule our feelings.š„ŗ
Also, don't make a horrifying exit from the show (are you listening CVS?š”), that would leave both Khushi and us broken! We just want you to promise Khushi your lifetime with her, make babies and show that as an epilogue- just one episode long! But please, let our souls to rest. You are ARSHI for a reason! Don't turn into AR-SHI! You made this couple different from all others in tellywood... Keep it that way... š³
I want IPK to be a happy phase of my young life. I know I will get over this grief. I know that later, I will laugh at myself for being a sentimental fool... But I want it to be a moment of joy when I see the last of you as Arnav Singh Raizada- the formidable ASR, the loving husband, the dutiful brother the protector and of course, the loverboy of our hearts. I want the nostalgia of IPK to be a happy, sweet, giggly, blushy one. Because that is what you have done to us in this short period of time.š
Don't you think we deserve at least this? A last chance to show our love for you, Barun Sobti? And of course, we will let you go... Chase your dreams with flying colours... Because we can never, ever repay the joy of watching you on screen and in your offscreen tomfoolery. We love you, always will! Muah! Go boy! Go for it Sobti!!! š¤š¤š¤
But please, one final long, sweet goodbye to banta hai na boss? We know you deserve all the success and happiness the world has to offer... Don't we deserve this?š¤š
