Calling to ATTENTION-All Fans & Viewers of IPKKND

We are on this forum for various REASONS!
Some are Barun fans, while some are Sanaya's, some are Sarun fans, some are ASR/ Arnav fans, while some love Khushi and on and off the battles are pitched for whose favorite is stronger.

But we all will agree that over and above all these differences of opinions, attitudes, thoughts and perceptions, we all have one thing in common- we are all viewers of the show called IPKKND. Most of us have invested 1 1/2 years of our viewership time to this show and are the people solely responsibility for putting it on the map and getting it all the accolades and fame, the show and consequently the stars have received.

Now if we are united in this, then I want to call for everyone's attention to a mockery we the audience are being made of.

I agree the PH has given us some great shows (only two as per my knowledge that have been good/ grt ;)) However, they may have started off well but they have been failing to keep their promise of doing justice to their products. If they have been criticized lately it's because of that failed promise!

But over and above that, the current issue is that of the idiocracy of their comments and statements that at least make me as an audience feel like a moron!!

We received an Open letter a couple of days back that stated and I quote- (Pl note am not quoting the entire letters, it will take up too much space)

"The story of IPKKND has run it's course. The two people in love have got married. All fairy tales end with "and they lived happily ever after". We have asked you earlier and ask you once again. Please post your story ideas here - and we mean "story ideas and tracks..."

Their disinterest in running the show can't be more evident than this, because no matter what the internal issues are, making a public statement saying they don't have anything more in their bags itself is enough cause to send fans on a panic mode and which maker would want to do that.

Many viewers have been appreciative of their honestly, but if you view it from the other lens, this act is putting them (PH) in a poor light cause they are openly telling their consumers that their creativity has failed and that shows their writers in poor light too. Many shows are running and they all have their ups and downs, but how many PH come out and say give me ideas cause you don't like what I am showing?

But so far what was under debate was that many believed that they won't leave IPK to die a natural death cause they assured us it was their baby and they wouldn't abandon it. Also cause the PH repeatedly came out defending that shutting their other show 'Geet' wasn't their decision and they were helpless.

I bought that explanation too! Till I saw their letter to Geet fans who have asked for a season 2 and please note what is highlighted cause that is the cruz of the note to me...

"We have been trying our level best to make this happen. In fact, we even tried to make it happen when the story of Geet finished and we were making those draggy episodes that made no sense - even to us. But who wants to kill money making machine... Right? We wanted to start afresh with Geet Season 2 and take a time jump, maybe start a new story altogether with Gurmeet and Drashti but before we could do any of that Star One shut down. We even tried to convince a few film financiers to fund a film starring both of them but it did not happen. Film people fail to see the immense popularity of the TV stars???."

"We were making dragging episodes that didn't MAKE SENSE EVEN TO US"??? Seriously? Another admission of creativity run out!!

Please note what is common in both the letters!! In both instances the story ran its course and they came up with senseless tracks!!

My question is, how can a show that is on and for less than 2 years have a finished story?? Does 4 Lions only plans shows till "and they married and assumingly lived happily ever after"? After repeatedly defending that they didn't want to end the show (Geet), now they casually say the story ended and they were just dragging it?

What have we been complaining about in IPK world of late? Do our episodes feel like a drag too?

What has upset me here is, when I heard that they, inspite of knowing the show was ending and that they had no plans for a second season, had asked Geet fans to give ideas for tracks and storylines, just like we have been asked now and many of us feeling a dire need to salvage the show have happily given our ideas, stories, without worry about plagiarism or author's credit!

So are we heading down the same road? Are we going to be made fools like the other fans have been before?

We all signed up cause we were promised a good show which will be different and now that we are all engaged and have invested time and some have even invested blood pressure and stress charts to the show, they come and say "Sorry I only had these many tricks up my sleeves! Thank u but I don't have anything more for you now. If you want more, you give the idea"

It's like going to a restaurant for a fine dining experience and the chef who is the expert and the captain of the kitchen comes to your table and says "You want a good meal, the kitchen is yours. Come and cook and eat!!!"

And we in our naivenesss, even did that , gave the recipe to cook the meal.

So now what?? Is the chef still going to shut kitchen saying... your recipe was nice and the meal could have been good but my helpers left or the power went off and appliances can't be used. (I hope you get the parallel here)

Today am a pissed viewer! Infact I have been one for some days now ever since I read that letter. And as someone who has invested my 8p.m. to 8.30 p.m.-Monday to Friday since June 6^th 2011, I am not ok with being made a fool.

So my question is -Do we want to do something about this or sit and wait? Cause one thing is sure, whether the show runs or shuts, it is not ok to take people for a ride!!

For once I want answers and no hiding behind the cloak of being busy and forum 32!!

And I want them to know that to err once is human but repeat it, then it means there has to be a method in that madness and we have figured it out!!

Now what do we want to do? I ask you guys to suggest!!

I happend to watch this show...in last january...after accedentally watching an arshi love scene...i still remember wen i went through comment session there...i read abt geet...the desperate fans of that show...were cursing ipk...bcs they thought ipk was the reason geet got neglected by makers...i for the one who had zero idea abt any indian show ...neglected it...or couldnt understand the seriousness of that topic...but now as i m loving this show like anything...i can relate to those comments of geet fans now...i even rrmember a warning comment on some arshi video...that one day u will understand our pain...wen ph will dump ur show n move on to other...n here i m ...i really understand their emotions...
That open letter was a stamp on my worst fear...that ph is done with our show n is moving on to other...!!they cant come up with an excuse dat story has run its course wen we lesser creatives have tons of ideas to make the show run...so i believe its lack of interest ...thats missing in dem...n its our love for this show we r coming with various ideas...
The open letter to geet fans was an absolute shocker...i feel cheated as a viewer for them shows r money making machines...for us its our passion love n something more...they will say exactly same things once they shut ipk down...that tracks were senseless...but wat abt us???who watched it because we were loyal to show n will take any shit bcs of our love...r nt they cheating us big time???
So i think b4 everything goes out of our hand we should unite n think of a solution to stop ph frm axing OUR show...which we all know has a long way to go...may b boycotting their all other shows...or asking help frm channel...!!!wat ever it is we all should joint hand in hands n work with a plan...

Jules, a brilliant post. 😊 We are fans of this show, of Sarun and we want the show to be the best and continue for a longer period of time. We have stuck loyal to the show for a long time and if something goes wrong we demand it be righted. It cannot be taken in a bad way by the PH. Criticism is a part of any successful show.

I don't like the attitude of the PH here at all. A post by 4 Lions telling us that the show has run it's course pretty much sounded like the end of it. And they pretty much admit to the other show fans that the episodes were "draggy" and "made no sense" to them. In the history of TV, no PH has come forward and put forth such excuses or out rightly told the viewers that they have nothing much left to show. Firstly, they need to handle internal issues better, whatever they are.

A serial runs on a story. And if they cannot be creative enough, why start one at all. Stories get redundant yes, thats true with all shows, and this is where a good cv comes into picture. Why is it so hard to come up with good stories? IF itself has so many beautiful stories from really good writers, if they have run out of ideas
A sad, sad move by the PH, that letter. It really will go down if it maintains this attitude.

I have stopped watching to avoid any disappointment later but i dread the storm coming ahead for the others.

Im going to post what I wrote as a reply to that letter in Forum32. Im not even a Geet fan (having never watched it) but I felt obliged to write a reply to their scandolouse post and remarks. (Im waiting for a reply from 4lions but they seem to have conviniently over looked my post).

Wow!! seriously? You made draggy episodes that made no sense to you? Is this something we expect to hear from a Production house who claim their shows to be their 'babies'?

Whatever said and done, how much the story might have run it's course, you have no right to deliberately show 'draggy' episeodes that make no sense not even to you, that demeanes the initial beauty of the show. Please give me a break when you say you couldn't find a good story line to keep the quality intact. Why do we call the people working for the show as 'creatives'? We call them creatives beacuse it's their job to think creatively. They are getting paid to write and execute stories that would interest the audience and keep them captivated. It only takes a bit of effort and interest from your so called 'creatives' part. This shows nothing but carelessness and lack of interest in the show. (Or was it beacuse all the creative brains were cartered off to start IPK?)

I refuse to believe Geet 'ran it's course' (as you seem to be telling about another show too) and you had to resort to show crap. At least show something that is worth while until the show officially had to come to it's end? Why make it a mockery when you know the end is near? When you knew very well that the show's days were numbered, you should have made an effort to give a good story line, at least as a tribute to what it had been. You should have given something people could have held onto at the last stages of the show without showing storylines that didnt even 'make sense' to you. How can you play with sentiments of these loyal viewrs who watched the show through thick and thin?

More than that how could you delieberately demean and mutilate your own product and even accept the fact that you did so without batting an eye lash in a public platform with an official seal like this? Heights of unprofessionalism to actually accept the fact that you produced mediocre content (at least do so without harping about it to the whole world).

Bottom line, you cannot deliberately put down the quality of your product for any reason whatso ever. It's one of the basic rules we learn in Business 101. As a viewer and a consumer who had been following 4lions productions, I am judging you and your production house nine ways to Sunday and mark my words when I say I will think twice before indulging myself on a future product of yours.

Your very first line shows how much attention and care you gave to Geet at it's last stage. It's outragouse that you knowingly made no effort to make the show at least a little bit interesting for the viewers. Is this because you found better and bigger fish to fry? You (4lions) wrote things that didnt make sense, (you admitted it yourself) that didn't need much thought so that you can run and concentrate on your new pet project at that time, IPK? Am I not right?

So is this the exact same fate happening to IPK now, becuase you have found your latest baby in QH? Is this the reason for the 'draggy episodes that make no sense' in IPK? Am I right to decipher this pattern in your Production house? Once you loose interest in a show, it become 'draggy' and the excuse will be becuase 'story has run it's course'?

Will we see the same excuse dished out to QH, one year from now on?

I generally don't watch daily shows and this is the only one I have been not just watching but also analysing simply because I loved it. I loved the story and the extraordinary chemistry of the protagnists.

This should be sent to a news paper. Let them know how professional this PH is. Let them demand answers. If they don't listen to us, a newspaper is bigger .. right? If some newspaper can publish lies about Sanaya, they can publish the truth about the PH right?
