Besides, I don't think many of you would miss a review tonight as I expect most of you would be re-running the show till Monday is here.
By the way, my favorite sequences were:
>> Arnav's Aloo ke pakaude: I only like the ones my wife makes. I wouldn't like any other.
>> Khushi's dream: Dusht aurat, chudail
Cheerio!

What I LOVED: 3rd November: Maha-Episode
Nice ME!
Arnav & Khushi
It is kinda endearing to see how they fight with each other because they love each other.
The Vrat
Khushi wants to fast so that Arnav would have a long life.
Arnav wants Khushi to not fast because he knows she cannot stay hungry for very long.
Khushi wants to fast because she is a married woman and this is the first karwachouth (as if she'd stop doing it if it was the tenth!) and all married women do this.
Arnav wants Khushi to not fast because he doesn't believe a fast can give him a long life or prosperity.
So things as usual take the most common route: a challenge follows.
Arnav challenges Khushi that she cannot fast. If he wins, she would give up fasting. Khushi accepts. And then, Arnav begins to work on winning and letting Khushi free of fasting. But Khushi is Khushi.
He makes sure the table is full of her favorite food.
He makes sure he offers her Dahi badaa.
He asks her to make for him Aloo ke Pakaude; actually takes her through the process, ending with pyaar bhari baatien with Aloo ke Pakaude – very typical Khushi
(He really knows her through!)
Though their beliefs are the opposite, the reason they are doing what they are is love. She loves him and wants him to live long. He loves her and doesn't want her to go hungry for him. She'd passed out the previous year. Twice, he's told her that she can eat as no one was watching, and he wouldn't tell anyone. He was simply saying he was okay with it if she ate something.
Eventually, Arnav sees that it is important for Khushi and asks if he can do anything to make her feel better. As yet, Khushi hasn't seen that this wasn't as much a joke for Arnav either. It wasn't merely a challenge. He was having fun teasing her, but he only did it so that he could get her off fasting for good.
The challenge it seems was dropped.
Once again Khushi got something in her eye. Once again Arnav removed it.
Once again her earring was stuck on his clothes. Once again Arnav got it free.
Once again she was about to fall. Once again he was there to take care.
This time it was followed with a promise – He'd always be there to take care.
Khushi's Dream
Khushi dreamt that she was preparing for Sheetal's Karwachauth. Sheetal checked for items needed for the event, and Khushi had all of them. Sheetal took the sieve from Khushi and saw the moon and then Arnav through it. Arnav asked for water from Khushi and gave it to Sheetal. Sheetal asked for Arnav's blessings and Arnav offered her a place with him. Arnav called themselves: Arnav, Aarav, and Sheetal – awesome threesome. Arnav was about to hug Sheetal, when Khushi stepped up between them and pushed Arnav back and launched herself on Sheetal.
Yeah --- Sheetal, we were trying to warn you about our tigress. Well, you're calling this one upon yourself.
Khushi has, more or less, made herself believe that Aarav is Arnav's son. Going by that, Sheetal is the mother of Arnav's son. Thereby, as per Khushi's moral compass, Sheetal and Aarav deserve a place in Arnav's life.
What Arnav feels about the whole matter, is something Khushi really isn't being realistic about. True, there have been many instances where Khushi saw things that, in her mind, linked Aarav and Sheetal to Arnav. However, there have been enough instances where Arnav has clarified in words and actions that he is not the father of Aarav.
Yet, twice in her day dreams and nightmares, Khushi sees Arnav choosing Sheetal over Khushi – in her right mind, Khushi knows this is not possible.
Khushi – it seems – is torn. She would want Aarav to have a father even if it is her husband. However, when it comes to Sheetal, Khushi finds herself divided over letting her have the wife rights and a place in Arnav's life.
In her dream in the kitchen, Khushi sees Arnav listening to Sheetal and agreeing that Khushi wasn't worthy of him. In her nightmare, Khushi saw Sheetal a step ahead – being Arnav's wife and Arnav giving Sheetal Khushi's place.
In her dream, Khushi had refused to leave Arnav's house. In her nightmare, Khushi is a step ahead – she is refusing to let Sheetal take her place in Arnav's life.
It was an interesting nightmare – if such things exist.
Khushi believes in all rituals and places them high in her life. As a wife, karwachauth is not only her responsibility, to Khushi, it is her privilege. She gets to fast to for her husband's life and prosperity. It is entirely her matter – the wife's. A wife would not share this ritual with anyone for anything, though she is the one who remains hungry and thirsty all day. A wife would rather remain without food and water than break the fast unless her husband gives her food and water first for breaking the fast.
Yet, she sees herself compromising her place as a wife when it comes to the very wife-related rituals for her husband. She does not like it, but she is not refusing Sheetal the sieve, the rice, and the water. What's more, she is not refusing Sheetal carrying out the ritual. Then, she is still not refusing Sheetal getting the blessings of pati parmeshwar. Even more, she's not refusing Arnav to break Sheetal's fast. Arnav goes 'Awesome Threesome' and Khushi still bears it. Till here, she dislikes it, she is uncomfortable, she is worried, she is unhappy – but she compromises. Why? There is Aarav involved.
And that's probably all she can bear.
When Arnav starts to pull Sheetal in his arms – that's where the wife draws the line.
Khushi can deal with compromise on her rituals, rasams, beliefs, vrats.
She is selfless and for Aarav she can even compromise on someone else calling Arnav as her pati parmeshwar.
She can deal with Arnav breaking Sheetal's fast – even give him the water herself.
She can even get herself to listen to the Awesome Threesome Nonsensesome.
But, when it comes to Arnav's love – there can be no compromise.
Khushi pushes Arnav back and launches herself on Sheetal. Until now, Khushi was letting Sheetal take whatever she wanted and Khushi was giving it. However, the moment it came to sharing Arnav's love, in an instant Sheetal becomes a 'dusht aurat, chudail' for her.
It is rather interesting that though in her conscious mind Khushi is more concerned about Aarav, subconsciously, this whole matter is impacting her to the point where she feels she would lose Arnav. On the face of it, Khushi may never accept that she may lose him, she may not even say it to him. However, these two dreams are probably her worst fear – losing Arnav.
This is more like Arnav's thought process: Rituals etc. are fine. The most important thing is, I love you. Damn it!
Khushi seems to be feeling likewise these days: I can compromise on rituals. But, the man and his love – that's off limits for anyone else. Damn it!
Aloo Ke Pakaude
I only like the ones my wife makes. I wouldn't like any other.
And this comes from the chap who doesn't even like Aloo ke pakaude. This was a cute sequence – which showed in every way possible, how focused Arnav is on Khushi.
The challenge, the tricks, the lies, the persuasion – everything is just so that Khushi would eat and not remain hungry all day. Arnav knows how much she loves food. Not eating and not talking are two things very hard for Khushi.
What happens after this sequence was funny too!
Khushi apparently knew that Arnav didn't like Aloo ke Pakaude. Yet, when he asked her, the poor dame made it for him. She went exactly as he told her to do. Yet, when she is done and is about to taste one, and realizes that Arnav tricked her, Arnav refuses.
I didn't do anything. You said you'd make them and taste one.
Arnav has played this trick on Khushi so many times now. He makes her follow his steps, and it is quite a while before she gets it that he was tricking her.
During the passing the parcel game, Arnav tricked Khushi into getting distracted and she lost the game. When she confronted him that he tricked her because she thought he touched his nose, he responded – 'What you thought is your mistake.'
Of course, as a punishment, he took her to his Mom's garden.
During the Bachelor party night, Arnav tricked Khushi again. It was her idea to let Arnav have the bachelor party that NK suggested. She followed his steps and is livid to see his shadow with a woman. When she confronted him, he was again clear that he wasn't with any other woman, and it's simply what Khushi thought she saw.
Of course, as a punishment,
A really cool output of this game was that when Khushi offered the tray of Aloo ke Pakaude to Arnav, he refused to eat, but told her to offer it to Sheetal.
"Offer it to Sheetal. She's the guest. Khatirdaari karo."
Arnav may have meant it as an excuse, or a joke – or a taunt. It was Khushi's idea to let Sheetal be a guest at RM. Now, she's having trouble because of Sheetal, and Arnav knows it just too well. It's almost as though he means – this is your idea. Have it your way!
However, as a result of this, Khushi found that Sheetal was indeed fasting and hiding it from her.
Usually, their arguments or disagreements eventually bring them closer than before. Let's see where this one takes them.
Sheetal
Sheetal has 'attempted' to hide from Khushi that she was fasting, and managed to rake up enough hints that it was indeed a karwachauth ka vrat for Sheetal.
Funny thing is Aarav knows that Sheetal fasts every year for his Dad. Sheetal has nicely placed herself in for Mehendi, Sargi, and (as per the precap) even the actual ritual of breaking the fast. In placing herself in all these events, knowingly or unknowingly, she has given Khushi enough hints about it.
Others
1. Really off the side – I loved how the place was decorated with beautiful white flowers.
Totally LOVED the flowers
(And no I am not connecting that to anything. I really only loved the flowers decor!)
2. I liked that Anjali was helping Arnav in teasing Khushi, even if she didn't know his reasons. When he told her his reason, this is the first time Anjali didn't press through the importance of rasams etc.
>> Anjali growing up – good!
>> Anjali helping Arnav (usually the opposite is true) – good!
3. Nani Ji seems to be really cheering for Sheetal still. She's really just being nice to Arnav's friend. All the stuff about putting Mehendi on her hands or feeding her kheer, if Nani ji was aware of Sheetal's vrat for Arnav, none of the above may have happened.
4. NK: fasting for Sheetal ji!! And your list of 'requirements' for a good wife – you really narrowed it down rather well.
Go for it!
5. It is so nice to see Khushi so perceptive about Anjali's feelings.
Precap
Finally! A first real look at Sheetal's secret – or one of them in any case.
Yes, a lot isn't clear right now, but one thing is. She's lying about whatever she intends Arnav to be or have been.
Ah! So, Sheetal seems to be tricking Arnav into being a husband of sorts for whom she is fasting. Would love to hear the sob story!
If only husbands came as easily as calling out their name while holding up your dupatta before your eyes!
Sheetal is about as 'married' to Arnav and Shyam was ever 'engaged' to Khushi!
