I absolutely agree with you. The sweet anticipation that kept us glued to our screens has gone for a dipper. Nowadays, there is nothing left. The CVs have ruined our IPKKND. Even with all the trashy tracks, IPKKND was. But now, they have killed THE ASR. When THE ASR is no more, what is left?
When the CVs slowly started killing Kushi, I still had hope that Arnav maybe could save her. (You know the difference between Kushi when we started and now - think of the scene "Bhar mei gaye app or bhar mei gaye aap ki nokri" - and now think of the scene in her own house where she has to apologize to a 5?? yr rude, mannerless kid (a guest!!) who has no etiquette. I'm not even going to bother about the senseless, idiotic acts they have made her do in the name of comedy - well, we all have our own idea of comedy, don't we?) But I still did not lose hope. Why? Because THE ASR was still alive. Barely, but still there.
Then? Then with one swipe, they obliterated him. Instead of THE ASR that we have been watching for fifteen months, the CVs give us lover boy, who barely looks at his wife now that his ex is on the scene. The same wife that he claims to not be able to live without. He, who knew what was in her heart and mind, now is clueless! The whole essence of the show IPPKND eradicated in one swipe! I have never come across such an act in my entire life! That sure beats the tops! In the name of showing Kushi's insecurities the CVs have compromised their own character. (Myriad of ways to show her insecurities, but they chose a common, cliched one in a show that claims to be unique!!!) Who the hell sabotages their own craft? What kind of pride do they have in their vocation, if this is how they behave with their work of art. The work of art that took the world by storm. Where is the meritocracy in that? I'm not even Indian, I'm French, I don't even understand Hindi. But even through cultural and language differences, I could see the diamond in the rough that was ArShi. This on-screen couple has the magic that transcends everything we know on earth. It is as if they were made to light up the screen on fire. Whether indian or French does not matter, fire is fire. Think Teri-Meri dance sequence. This was the magic of IPKKND - the pasion, the fire, the burning desire, the love, the thoughts, the insatiable want - that was THE ASR only for Kushi.
Suddenly this gets transferred to another woman, we learn that he had during college days. Where he was supposed to be the brooding type, we learn he was the happy go lucky lover boy. All the past of his family, which had made him what he was (or so we thought) became inconsequential, non-important! The essence dead!!!
IPKKND as we knew it, no matter what they do, is finished.
They killed THE ASR. There is nothing left. No matter what the CVs do now, the damage is done.
Yes, another common, cliched show with the same name with a husband, a wife and an other, A common, cliched show. Just like any other TV show, on any other channel, in any other place. Available dime a dozen.
Nothing unique about it.
