ABOUT MOTHERS AND KIDS

"Was it the act of giving birth that made you a mother? Did you lose that label when you relinquished your child? If people were measured by their deeds, on the one hand, I had a woman who had chosen to give me up; on the other, I had a woman who'd sat up with me at night when I was sick as a child, who'd cried with me over boyfriends, who'd clapped fiercely at my law school graduation. Which acts made you more of a mother?
Both, I realized. Being a parent wasn't just about bearing a child. It was about bearing witness to its life."

I am going to write about Sheetal Kapoor a self confessed single mother and her son
ASR, Aarav is the name I have no idea what SR Stands for.
Yesterday I had a terrifying experience. My son went to visit the TirupathiTemple along with a friend of his yesterday. He was supposed to come back by night 10 pm. Well I got a message telling he was going to switch off his phone since he was entering the temple. I was waiting patiently till 4 pm. for him to call me. Since it is a three hour drive He should have started by 7 to reach by 10 pm.

Till 9:30 in the night I had no call. I started to panic and have a sick feeling in my stomach. No amount of reasoning by my friends here in the adda or by my husband would make a difference. When I received a call at 9:30 I was so relieved and happy that I announced it in the adda.
That is a bond between a Mother and a child. Whatever age the child may be, a mother will by nature worry about her child.
Sheetal Kapoor a single mother was introduced in the show when her son who was wandering in the subzi market was getting kidnapped. Kushi rescued her son and she barely thanked Kushi for her efforts.
She was staying in a hotel, what the need to be in the Subzi market? Is she cooking in the hotel room? The second time the boy was wandering in the toy shop and fainted. Since his mother was not there Kushi took him to RM.

Giving birth to a child alone is not enough. You have to nurture the child and instil good values and manners.

Sheetal a few question:
As a single mother you have to be doubly careful and caring since you choose to have the child, you did not abort it or give it up for adoption?
Your son fainted and the doctor prescribed some medicines, you leave the prescription behind?
Your son fainted and you brought him out the next day without any breakfast from the hotel?
Is this being a mother?
Your son uses what the phrase which any mother would have wiped out from his dictionary long ago. So why did you not?
Have you not taught him manners and how to behave and give respect to elders?
He was very rude to Kushi and said what the before all the elders in the family and you still did not correct him?
Is he really your son?
Well I don't think so.
Aarav SR.
Aarav is going to school and is supposed to be getting good marks in his academics, Then why is he so rude to elders especially Kushi who saved him twice?
Is he the part of some plot?
Has he not asked his mother before about his father? It is but natural to do so when a child goes to school and mixes with kids of the same age. They will be mentioning their fathers and he did not ask his mother?
Why did he want to go to the washroom when questions regarding his
father are raised?
Did no one in school, his teachers not correct the phrase he uses
"what the"?
It is all too suspicious for me.

True to the core as a mother...so well put Anu...motherhood not a topic to be taken lightly!👏
I was so relieved to hear that your son called...I know what a nightmare it can be🤗
About the interaction and presentation these two characters..Sheetal and Aarav..it's true she does not bring the warmth or attentive nature to her child that women naturally do...about how they are reacting shows their discomfort around each other!also they have barely shared the hugs that parent shares daily...or a look of love that spells a familiarity...so our mental radars are picking up wat they are trying to impress on us...I think your suspicions reflect those of a lot of fans!hence the disconnect in behaviors on both their ends!great questions!😃

Thank you very much Meena for your comments.

I was furious yesterday after the episode and Koel's post really calmed me down.

But I cant forget Arnav's behavior with that kid near the pool. He should know better.

You should be the one getting your son ready to school and not the hosts in the house. When he comes from school why should he hide from you.
You should be the one to remove the school dress as soon as he come back and not let him wander around in it till night.

Is he really your son?

Fantastic post Anu 👏

Being a mother of a 4yr old son ... i can relate to each and everything you have penned down about being a mother... and that is why even i find the behavior of Sheetal strange!

And do not get me started on the behavior of master ASR... he is obnoxious and rude... and i hate the way he interacts with Khushi... he needs two tight slaps for every "What the..." he utters ...

Anu beautiful post on a mother and child bond...it is the most fulfilling and rewarding experience...a mother will always have asoftness for her child.. Which the young generation of Ipk fail to portray like anjali and nw sheetal.. A poor chatacter sketch should take the blame...this aspect is underdone as the similarity of aarav and arnav get's overdone the balance is not in equilibrium. I guess it is easy to maintain mediocre norms and tough to maintain the drive to rise above it...IPK has languished between this from its early days but the prominence is glaring nw as the eyes have adjusted to the novelty of arnav and khushi to scrutinize more... Excellent questions... 👏 loved reading a new insight... ⭐️
