At the end of the day, you have to believe in your product and story. They thought short term and panicked.
The downfall started when they dropped Farak padta hai track...I remember we had a tagline that La's engagement ring ended up being Khushi's size...they must have even shot it but changed and we got the stupid comedy track, they pushed up Payash marriage.
So I don't agree that it was audience fault completely. Why did they bow down to demands.
As an audience,everyone will have certain expectations, at the end of the day as author you have to tell your story yaar.
Even I demand dialogues for Akash, is that happening no right. Why?
Even if they consider Akashay "INTERESTING AND INTELLIGENT" actor ( I am quoting someone here), they realize that in terms of Popularity NK is ahead, so what Akash should be saying as the brother and SIL, NK gets to stay.
JK rowling was very clear that Ron will be with Hermione, if she had bowed down to the fans demand who wanted to see Harry with Hermione, what would have happened.
Okay granted we don't know about that, the point is when it is your character, you have a vision, stick to it and you can't stick to your character, can't bargain hard with the channel, get scared, DO NOT blame the audience for the mess up.
