Supna, According to Hindu Marriage act, the ritual has to take place in the presence of witnesses and has to be consecrated by a priest... Pheras or not depends on the community to which the Bride and Groom belong... even among Hindus, rituals vary from region to region... we are a HUGE, HUGE country.But the act was formed in 1951, I think. why? to safeguard the rights of individuals... be it man or woman as society is not ideal anymore...
But in the ideal times... men were true to their word... and people were faithful and responsible.
Marriages have been happening from times immemmorial... and according to scriptures, Gandharva Vivaha was accepted... mere exchange of garlands... no priest, no witnesses... a man and woman simply accept each other

Btw I think it's a con ( I want to believe that) scene done beautifully. I don't care about marriage. It will happen sooner or later. For now I want Khushi to give hard times to Arnav and his redemption. I want a strong Khushi who gives ultimatum to Arnav to sort out his priorities first before claiming to love her . I want Arnav to go MAD for her and Khushi to give him a run for his money. I want Arnav's redemption BIG TIME. I want Arnav to become ASR again in Khushis absence and show Dadi and Shyamu their true place at RM.
