Nothing was okay anymore.
It never would be.
Not without her.
her, the one she had been guarding...nurturing...was gone. The place in her heart which had been devoted only to the last bit of hope for herself...a reminder that everything would be alright after all...good days would return when her arrival pleasured the house...the last desperate hope...
it had been a year...or more?? Who knew? Who cared really?
She looked at her family...their anxious sympathetic glances...it was the same stare...all through the past year...yes they pitied her...compassion...pain for her...worry for her...but most of all pity.
And the one responsible?
She had nurtured him too. Loved him...with her life...he was her life...no, had been.
Their child...he killed her.
A ghost that was what she had become.
But was it not her own mistake? Nourishing a snake to get bitten by it?
She had been bitten...and he had killed her baby...and...
Her brother's happiness had been marred... the terrible confrontation...she had called the man back pleading sorrow at her baby's death , she thought they would share it...the misfortune...because she had been stupid...blind.
She did not know...that her misfortune had been his ticket to the eden she shared with her family.
Her brother had finally given in...in the face of her sorrow...her inconsolable grief to have the man he so mistrusted back...
A few days of mourning...and her badgering her husband that as soon as the doctor permitted they could have another baby...
But he put her off.
And one fine day...he had ...tried to rape her newly wed sister in law...her chotte's khushi...then his bride of a month.
There was no one in the house..only khushi...arnav never left khushi alone usually mistrusting him...but that day had been a sudden lapse.he had sneaked back in...
But then she too returned all 0f a sudden from her puja...and heard the girl's screams...
Nightmare...her life was a nightmare...
Everything she had been about had gone...
And through her stupidity...her blindness...her sister in law had shied away from of any man...even her brother...but she was strong...khushi had bounced back...
They were happy now...but they could have blamed her...both of them...they had suffered because of her...and...warned her.but they did not...not chotte...not khushi.
She was grateful...for the laughter of her favourite sister in law...and her chotte's...she smiled for them now...khushi was always there...she knew of her forced smile...but she was there...it meant a lot...khushi did not hate her...meant a lot
Chotte loved her...her family loved her meant a lot...
Yesterday had been nice...running into her old college lab partner...arjun singhania...nice to meet someone who had not seen her life crumble...he wanted her to catch up with him...while he was in town...pick up old threads...
Maybe she would go.
