SHWETHA's SCORCHER;

*Please Note that this post is written by Shwetha
and not by me, Address all Appreciations /PM's to her ..😃 *

Pyomari Mehta (Sorry If I got the Spelling wrong) You rocked today👏

I absolutely loved the episode today👏

Compare and Contrast:

A mother who went out of her way to put her unborn child's life and future in danger by believing the devil.

A mother who went out of her way to sacrifice everything just so her two daughters whom she did not give birth to, can have have the happiness she thinks they deserve.

A father who has no qualms in putting his unborn child' s life in danger.

A father who has ensured that his daughters, one his own and one adopted are always safe and secure.

It was an emotionally moving episode and it worked big time...for me.

We got more today:

Khushi we fell in love with.

(Can someone tone down Sanaya's make up just a little bit and can everyone in the IPK team pay attention to the cut and past eyesore dresses she is made to wear)

Akash finally made a phone call that went through👍🏼

The Doctor who I remember quite well from last time made an appearance too. Kudos to that actress who actually looked and spoke like a doctor and not the typically serial-ish doctors we see. ( 4 Lions, you guys alwalys get the casting right, don't you?)

Dadi sees the phone, so will she be the first one to meet Shyam and know that Anjali has been secretly meeting her MIA Damaadji?

Nani & Mami excited about Mehendi cum Godbharai, good to see.

Buaji and Shashiji were fabulous.

Overall a fantastic episode. 👏

Parallel Tracks in IPK:

We know that IPK has invariably struggled to put up a decent parallel track and getting the balance of the episode in-terms of characters right.

Wednesday's epi if you remember got it right on all accounts. I have said this before, the ideal combination for IPK would be 60% Arhi and 40% Rest of the characters.

If we go into detail with this with the Wednesday episode example:

30% Arnav-Khushi scenes - Like the Mandir scene, although the family was present, it was quintessentially an Arhi Scene

30% Arnav and/or Khushi interacting with the rest of the family members - Be it the elders, their siblings, again the whole family interaction that we saw.

20% Shyam-Anjali
- As we saw the villain come into play

20% Payal and Akash - Again like yesterday where both made their presence felt...This 20% was what my Akash as a trojan horse theory was all about.

Akash as Trojan Horse was NOT supposed to be the main track, it was the parallel 20% track which would have made the combination of the characters and track just right IMHO.

The first three are easy to write, the writers to put it bluntly have struggled with Payal and Akash and seem to have no idea how to handle this couple.

Akash looking into Payal's eyes and romancing will not work. I will be the first to admit that. 😆

Rather what will work and is working fantastically is Payal as the Jiji, Akash as the supporting Bro (
We are waiting for Bromance CT!) .

Akash & Payal dancing or laughing together, sharing a moment like normal couple for instance, Akash dragging Payal to dance, them dancing together, Payal nudging Akash to give the haar to Panditji or both of them discussing the family matters, their siblings etc...are the moments the writers should concentrate on.

My take on the following characters as I see them:

Dadi:

Why is Dadi here - to open the wounds and unleash suffering or finally aid in providing the much needed closure and expose the truth?

Will Dadi be the unexpected Googly who will thwart Shyam's plans?

Is she here for a reason wanting to protect from the beginning or in true Mallik Style, MUs, Makes things worse and will set things right?

Interesting possibilities don't you all agree?

Mami & Mama

A lady who fell in love with a man from a higher society, who promised to love and support her and did just that.

She gets married, Nani does not fully approve of her and like a typical MIL & DIL have their issues.

Mama refuses to interfere in the Saas-bahu drama with the logic, both have to figure it out themselves, his stepping in is not going to solve the problem. Both will put up an act in his presence the resentment WILL continue to bubble up inside.

So he waits and watches keeping an eye on the situation and letS them come to some sort of understanding rather accepting each other for who they are.

Mami is welcomed warmly by his sister aka Arnav-Anjali's Mom, the nice and gentle soul she is and Manorama sincerely appreciates this warmth compared to the coldness from Nani or the odd taunts from Dadi.

Tragedy strikes.

Mama's sister commits suicide leaving her two kids behind closely followed by his BIL's death/suicide too.

Nani, Mama are shattered. Their beloved daugther-sister is no more.

More blows in the form of Dadi deciding to leave them and live in an Ashram and Chachaji throwing the kids out of their own home.

Mama is furious holds Dadi morally responsible for the plight of his sister and her kids and vows to bring them up as their own.

Mami rises to the occassion.Takes Arnav and Anjali under her protection and ensures they are always made to feel at home and as far as possible do not miss their own home or their parents.

Nani is relieved and grateful to Mami for the same. Relations are strengthened from then on.

Arnav decides to start his own business, is in need of finance. The otherwise materialistic Mami does not hesitate for a second and sells off her jewellery just so he can start of his business.

Arnav works hard, succeeds and then tries to return the money to her.

Mami refuses and asks him a blunt question, If it was Akash in Arnav's place, would she have taken back the money from her own son. Arnav tries and gives up as the proud Mama, Nani & Akash look on.

That has been Mami for me.

Does she have an acid tongue, YES she does.

Is she right in using KBT, PS, NO.

When will she stop, Hopefully at the earliest.

Overall she is a woman who has her pluses and minuses and is fiercely protective of her family.

A mother who adopted two children of her Sister in law and ensured they were equally loved and taken care of as her own son.

You bet when it comes right down to and the life of her two adopted children aka Arnav and Anjali is at stake she will be a tigress.

Shyam will not have it easy convincing Mami this time that is for sure and that will be awesome to watch. Utkarshaji will rock this one, for sure.

"
Nani aapsay kuch pooch rahin haina Arnav Bitwa, jawab dijiyay"

Mamaji to Arnav when Arnav married Khushi in a temple and came home. Notice the fantastic voice modulation soft yet with authority. Rajeshji was brilliant in that scene.

We sooo need Mama right now, someone who along with Arnav can ask tough questions, someone who keeps an eye on Dadi for Anjali, Khushi and Payal.

Someone who can quietly and wisely guide Arnav in his war against Shyam.

This is a fantastic time for the writers to go back to the drawing board get reacquainted with the beautiful characters they have created and chart out some fantastic scenes and track for the above two amazing characters brilliantly portrayed by such fantastic actors.

Agree, Disagree, do please let me know.

Once again .. genuinely appreciate everyone who liked my posts. Thanks all.

A Mother's love for her child is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path- Agatha Christie

With a really Heavy Heart I am writing this. Till now I have only written about how much Arnav loves Khushi and how much Khushi loves Arnav, How much Arnav loves Anjali and Anjali Shyam etc' Not even once mind me not even once I have written about Garima and Sashi. Today they gave it on my face and took me to a different world of Love. Really it was emotional.
The 20 minutes of today's episode made me feel the power of the mother wood which I hardly thought of. It made me cry with that parents who are helpless today and are moving away from their daughter just to see her happy. Long before I had even argued that only Arnav can love Khushi unconditionally as when time came garima was hard on Khushi when Payal's marriage was broken. Today I take back my words as Garima is the woman of substance.
She raised her sister's daughter as her own and till this moment has given the protection of the mother and that love to Khushi. She did not give birth to Khushi but she has given Khushi everything that a mother will give her. Khushi's upbringing and values are a proof for it. This lady has sacrificed her past and sacrificing her present and future too for Khushi. Words are not enough to describe this love that she has on Khushi not just Khushi but on Payal too.

Shashi Gupta, what can I say about him he his standing next to Garima on sacrifice and love. The man has happily accepted Khushi as his own daughter as Garima did for Payal. Not even once have made her feel that they are not her real parents. Stood by her time and again and given all that support and comfort a father will give. Shown her the right path in life.
Both of them proved today that love doesn't have any boundaries. What a powerful scene they had today with Garima and Shashi. Shashi knows everything about garima's past. In order to save Khushi's happy life she has decided to go away and is crying her heart out to her husband that Khushi is just not her sister's daughter but the love she has doesn't know the limits. And he knowing all this accepts her decision as he himself doesn't know the limit of his love for his daughter. If we get a family like this and parents like this we can fight the world for them and bring them the happiness.
Garima and shashi its fine but what should I say about Buaji, her one assurance to Khushi today and the hug today told how much she loves Khushi. She accepted this girl for her brother been with them in their hard days and given that shelter and protection. I just love this family today. They proved today that love is all above scheming and hatred. The love that you get from your parents can give you strength to face any type of situation life throws you into. Because you know their love and blessings will be on your head. Amazing. I thank the IPKKND team for giving such a fantastic and heart wrenching episode.
Garima had faced a terrible past that is shadowing her present too but I will say that Khushi has enough reasons to fight for her mother and set her free from the burden today she is running from. And today doods I accept that Khushi should be indeed Arjuna and she will give that justice along with the Satyaki Arnav. You are a genius. I bow towards the sacrifice this woman has taken and those who are responsible for her helplessness today will pay for it.
Pyumori Mehta, Sanjay Batra, Abhaa Parmar and Sanaya Irani were really the shining stars today👏
For this emotional episode that showed the strength and love of a mother for daughter I would dedicate this song. Its a Tamil Song that shows the importance of Mother😃
Ammaa enrazhaikkaadha uyirillaiyae
ammaavai vanangaadhu uyarvillaiyae
naeril ninru paesum dheyvam
petra thaayanri vaeronru aedhu
There is no one without their mother
There is no one without saluting their Mother
The god who speaks with you so near
Is none other than your Mother

abiraami sivagaami karumaayi magamaayi

thirukkoayil dheyvangal needhaanamaa
annaikku anraadam abhishaegam alangaaram
puriginra siru thondan naandhaanammaa
poruloadu pugazh vaendum maganalla thaayae un
arul vaendum enakkenrum adhu poadhumae
aduththingu pirapponru amaindhaalum naan undhan
maganaagap pirakkinra varam vaendumae
adhai neeyae tharuvaayae
All the gods put together can be seen in the form of your Mother
I have got that gift where I can daily worship my mother
All the name and fame can be attained when your Mothers blessings are on you
If there is next birth I would like to be born in the same womb
Please grant me this one wish
pasum thangam pudhu velli maanikkam manivairam
ivai yaavum oru thaaykku eedaagumaa
vilai meedhu vilai vaiththuk kaettaalum koduththaalum
kadai thannil thaayanbu kidaikkaadhammaa
eeraindhu maadhangal karuvoadu enaiththaangi
nee patta perum paadu arivaenammaa
eeraezhu jenmangal eduththaalum uzhaiththaalum
unakkingu naan patta kadan theerumaa
unnaalae pirandhaenae
Pure Gold, Pure Silver and all other gems nothing can stand infront of our Mother
Any price given or taken you cannot buy mothers love anywhere
10 Months a mother undergoes so much hardwork to bring the new life into the world
And for that how many births we take and do the favour in return it will not be enough
As they are the ones because of whom we are on this earth

Hello my dear friends...

Since I missed posting yesterday...my OMG section will be picked up from yesterday...😉

OMG OMG OMG

Anjali di is really sab se sayani ...Ghar walon ki peet peechay chup chup ke...Shyamu ko ghar bula daala...life jhinga lala?? or not!!😛

Shyamu ji back in his initial episodes Avatar...wohi blue shirt, wohi chote chote baal, wohi chila hua mun..as in clean shaved...I always liked him in those episodes..found him very cute...but ab eekaa hua bitwa...pregnant to anjali hai...how come he looks like the one with hormonal imbalance and associated bloating???😲

Anyways honestly in todays episode he looked much better to me...I guess my eyes got used to him...😳

Yesterday's episode rotated mainly around dadi's obsession of meeting Garima...for which she even ran to the mandir... and on entering instead of looking at DM and taking the aashirwad she kept staring at the lady in front of her..(ofcourse Garima)...had she taken the blessings of DM...she might have been successful...but dependence on her gold plated harry potter glasses and her poor vision instead of DM costed her resulting in the flight of Garima...Atleast Akash's glasses are correct...he was the only one who spotted her and as a reward got two extra dialogs...

Yesterday's episode also marked the entry of Arnav's new shoes finally our combined prayers have been answered (Haircut remains...lets hope on his leave along with his b'day cake he also cuts his hair😛). Akash and Payal are finally being given proper screen space and their little talks and communication is making them look real and more than extras in the serial...

I will not talk abt the actual extras...its ridiculous...why use 2 extras only who keep on going left and right like aimless wanderers cum zombies who walk with a stiff neck pretending they are the most bz ppl in the world and are not camera conscious at all...no comments 🤢

The best was mami called dadi a fool...though she meant not but it kind of made a point that dadi is a fool😆

We saw one hubby trying to bring genuine smile on his wife's face and eliminate all the sorrows of her life by doing everything possible by him and on the other we saw a hubby who is sweet talking his wife giving her the illusion of happiness just so that he can use her and get his revenge by bringing to life the sorrows of her past which she is trying to forget..

All in all yesterday was quite a meaningful episode in terms of Arnav and Khushi getting the blessings of DM and Shyam and Anjali joining hands and who will soon get the blessings of dadi...so we have a war at our hands all ready to begin...😳

Lets move on to today's episode

Rendezvous at RM...the love birds sharing the couch sipping tea and hubby forcing the wifey to have the fake meds that magically appeared on the coffee table...wifey makes puppy faces puts a show and has the medicine...now darling anjali,...when given this medicine by your brother you acted as if he is making you swallow a pill of poison the size of a tennis ball...and today look at your puppy faces...well as she makes puppy faces the well fed anaconda thinks about his victory,,...his trademark twitchy evil smile was missing...Anyways while she is in process of showing off her Home economics skills the door bell rings...

Now for a moment lets focus on the magical door of RM...it opens without the need of key for the baddies who need to spy on good ones...be it shyam or dadi...but for the do gooders who when have a chance of catching the baddies in action it needs the bell to be rung or the key used...thus giving a chnace to the baddies to escape..how utterly unfair...

Next comes the scene where anjali is sweating profusely like a teenager caught in act by strict nanny and shyamu runs away to hide first in anjali's room and then unfortunately in dadi's...

Now here he has done a miscalculation...see shyamu's escape route has already been defined as option three in my last post...ab when he went to dadi's room he did not know that there are only two doors in her room...one that led to the pool and the other that led to the outside corridor...there is no restroom door...as dadi who still lives in 18th century and enjoyed the ashram life for 14 yrs...still uses a chamber pot...to ab shyamu kahan se bhage ga....????

Anyways doctor comes and examines anjali, deeming her weak and the ineffectiveness of medicines changes them, she gives her a new prescription...soup song flop song??? as shyamu dear who is pacing like a caged animal does not know this as he far away from his CCTV footage...and I doubt he is an IPK addict like us that he will rewind hours of recording just to see what happened in Anjali's room..so Anjali off the fake medicine now!!

Dadi found Shyamu's cell phone and the look she gave made me think Shyamu has his own pic as a wall paper...otherwise a random cell phone could be of anyone in the house...maybe HP ka ho as now he too is a rich man!!

Dadi very shrewdly puts forth the suggestion of Goad bharai with the insistence of all loved ones surrounding Anjali to make her happy...nani immediately clubs the mehendi function along with it which is happily accepted by all but highly irks dadi...her unhappiness for Arnav and khushi's wedding is becoming clearer again with each passing function...she has been hoping and working secretly to meet Garima to unveil the past which will prove to be a hurdle for the wedding but so far she is unsuccessful in doing so...

Anyways it was a very emotional episode where we witnessed the fear and pain of a mother. A mother who has always sacrificed for her daughters and is yet again willing to sacrifice her happiness of seeing her daughter getting married...she is sacrificing what is every mother's dream to be a witness to that moment ...she is planning to go away from there so that Dadi cannot get hold of her and the terrible past is not unleashed. A past she knows and dadi knows evil enough to wreck the life of the young love birds. A past she know that can become a shadow on Payal's happily wed life too.

Shashi ji is the kind loving husband and father who has always stood as his wife's and daughters support...today unable to speak or act...he is still providing her unyielding support in her endeavors to save and protect khushi's happiness. He is like the pole who allows the tendrils to grasp and cling on him so that they can grow further yet depend on him for their support.

First the payals and now the earrings khushi has been gifted with two blessings from her mom...two gentle reminders of the woman who gave her birth. The Payal's reminding her of the love and the bond she has with her mother and the jhumka's to whisper her mothers love in her ears...Her mother will be present with her on her auspicious day of marriage in the form of these heirlooms but she is still saddened by the fact that the people who she considers her parents now will be missing at her most important day. She will yet again marry as an orphan...as no babujee to do her kanyadaan and no amma to wipe her tears. 😔

Wish list

Dear Cvs...a combined request from all reduxians...as you have been kind wnough to close all the loops we were hoping that we could get the closure of these ones as well ... we would love if she knows the story behind ASR's mum's bangles and reads that letter (which I think you might do after wedding agar bomb nahin phatta to). Also would love if ASR knows that she sold her mom's bangles to buy those plants for him. And for Khushi to find out his kind gesture of giving her two coins in the chamko detergent😳

**************************************************************************

From one reduxian to another...a message for Tants and doods..😳

The mother-child relationship is paradoxical and, in a sense, tragic. It requires the most intense love on the mother's side, yet this very love must help the child grow away from the mother, and to become fully independent.
-Erich Fromm

"Sandhya ; Definitely the Mom of Redux , A generous girl possessing a heart that loves unconditionally ..warm,loving, gentle, nurturing ..Sandy is all of that and much more ..A strong and loyal mom who has taken many a lives under her wings, worried about them, worried for them, cried with them and yet stood as the strength !! I love her takes for they loyally defend her daughter and always keeps a lookout for her daughter, never becomes fanatical , never strays from the point, she makes her points graciously"

Sats Thank you!! Wow!! Touched. It really means a lots to me. Absolutely a blessing to be part of this group called Redux. Its just not a group ,its an experience. Thank you once again Sats and Doodsie for giving us this platform where we just dont express our opinions on two fictional character but we express OURSELVES. We live every moment. It has become a family.
God Bless All..

I very vividly remember this incidence when I was growing up, My mom was always super anxious and concerned when it came to us kids. How I hated the sight of that glass of milk at night!!(Sorry Kiddos.. Milk is absolutely a must 😉 )..It used to irk me. I had to tell her why she is like that. So her answer was I will ask you the same thing once you become mom. I now know why she was and still is like that. We moms live for our kids and this is their life we are living. We cease to exist the moment we bring them to this world. And yes kids are our heart and soul.

Its really hard to imagine a mother's predicament when she will the root cause who could very well snatch her daughter's happiness. The choices life places before you. Hard choices. And when you are forced to lie to your kid. Especially when the kid you are raising is not your own flesh and blood but your heart and soul .Just imagine Garimaji's trepidation that her past will ruin Khushi's future. And also she will have to tell her daughter that she will give a miss to her wedding. It could have crushed her every heart when she could have taken that decision. To what extent a parent can go to keep afloat their children's happiness. Even their very life hold no value in front of their child's happiness. There is not height that is higher than parent's love, no depth deeper than parent's love, no width wider than parents love. Not an iota of exaggeration. Just plain facts.

And also to witness the pain in your daughter's eyes when you give her the news that you cannot be there at her wedding. The feeling that you have shattered her beautiful heart. Doesn't Garima know the sacrifices Khushi does for the family. And to inflict pain to such a child. No mother would want to face this turmoil. But Garimaji a noble soul all because of circumstances is now facing the toughest challenge of her life. In all this she has to keep a brave face. She has to act normal. And lie. She already saw how Khushi distanced herself when she said that they could not participate in the wedding. It was khushi's hurt that was speaking. From Khushi's side it was an earnest request as she didn't know how else to convince her parents whom she loves so dearly. She spoke as a third person in the family. It's a family we all should be proud off. So much love. I just loved how Buaji placated her favorite niece subtly rebuking that she is there as her pillar of strength and how can things go wrong. When buaji was there, why should Khushi yearn for her parents presence. She had so much love in her heart that she could fill all three shoes at a time. There a not an iota of doubt in buaji's mind. Just so wonderful!!

Later we come to my most favorite of the day. Garima trying to apply balm to Khushi's aching heart. She brings that connection and reminds Khushi what she really means to her. The link between them. Khushi's mother. I am a cry baby and I do cry at the drop of a heart. But this scene so far was the most heartwarming scene between them. I cried buckets. Because what I felt is for Garima to convince Khushi of her love and without giving away why she is not attending the wedding, she had to bring the Khushi's mother. She tells Khushi that when they were small, this was given to them by their parents. The danglings filled with filigree belonged to Khushi's mom. She tenderly slides into Khushi's ears. Garima ji's eyes were showering all the love to her daughter. She was blessing Khushi will all her heart. If Khushi's happiness depended on Garimaji sacrificing her life, she would have done it with a wink of her eyes. Not a moment of hesitation. She request Khushi not to be depressed or gloomy and have a smile plastered on her face and enjoy every bit of her wedding!!

When Khushi will realize that amount of sacrifice her mother did for her.. she will make Garimaji a proud mother. A mother's heart will swell with pride. And happy tears will be shed.

For Anjali Shyam Jha..

"Being by the nature of my upbringing, all my energies having been directed to
one channel of activity, crippled from other activities & made helpless even to live."
- Isaac Rosenberg

The task I have given myself today, seemed IMPOSSIBLE at first, and I wanted to give up on it before even starting, but then I remembered what my mom always told me.. "Beta, whatever you want to do, give it your best shot.. Don't worry or be bothered about the results.. Whether you pass or you fail, is immaterial.. All that matters is that you tried.. and that you have no regrets in your heart" It has become my Mantra to live by.. I know this may sound a little too much for this task, but work is work.. whatever it is..

For past 2 days, my dear friend Sandy wanted me to write something about Anjali and why she is doing this, why is she behaving like this? Why is she alienating herself from her family and most importantly her brother? For the past 2 days, I made half hearted attempts at trying to do it, but I myself was not satisfied with my words..

But today, after watching the episode and discussing about Anjali with Shaz, Sumi, Riyya and others, I felt like defending this lost soul.. My heart cried out for her.. My eyes filled with tears at her anguish.. The helplessness and the impossibility of her situation tugged at my heart.. I wanted to protect her, shield her, jerk her into senses..

The feminist in me is furious at her for being such a cripple.. But the woman in me can empathise with her plight.. She can understand her secrecy and the need for it.. She can feel her pain.. I felt so sorry for her and her condition.. I wanted to hold her in my arms and tell her, don't worry.. Sab theek ho jaayega..

Where does Anjali's fault lie?? Her biggest fault in my opinion is her devotion.. She is devoted to God, devoted tp her brother and devoted to her husband.. Is it her fault that her husband turned out to be creep??

What do we know about Anjali-Arnav relationship?? A brother and sister bond, like none other.. A brother so devoted to his sister, that he would not think twice before sacrificing his happiness for her.. She always wished happiness for her brother.. She was the one who understood the depth of her brother's feelings and love for Khushi even before he did.. She wanted to see him smile always..

Though Arnav has made her his world and he does tell her that she is his world in extreme times.. But some people need the demonstration of the love in others heart repeatedly.. As she told Khushi once, that Arnav can love.. but he cannot show love.. Not only romantic love, but every kind of love needs to be expressed!

She craved for love all her life.. She lost her parents, Her grandmother.. her house.. She lost the loving hands of all her loved ones.. She wanted one person who will love her for her.. A person on whom she has full rights.. A person who will be her life partner.. Isn't this what we all crave?

When she met Shyam Manohar Jha, an expert on finding glitches in people's armour.. He read her like a book.. He knew what he needed to do, to make her worship him.. He understood her constant need for appreciation and her never quenching thirst of being told that she is loved.. Her basic nature of being dependent.. Her deepest fear of being abandoned..

Shyam, fed her clinging nature, nurtured her love for him, treasured her every moment.. Made her feel like a queen of his heart.. fulfilled her every single wish.. danced to her tunes.. When any woman might have got suspicious, Anjali absorbed all this, and lost her identity as Anjali Singh Raizada/ Malik.. All that was left behind was Anjali Shyam Jha.. Her brother and her family were as besotted by her husband as she was..

She forgot to breathe without him.. She lost the will to live without him.. When the catastrophe struck.. She fell apart.. She pleaded her brother to right the wrongs of her life.. When she realised that her brother will not be able to do so this time, she decided that it was she who had to fight for her love alone this time.. She had faith in her marriage and her love for him.. She wanted to forget all that happened on that fateful day and put it behind her.. She wanted her unborn child to grow under her father's shadow.. For her Shyam is still GOD..

She heard what was said against her husband.. But whatever web of lies her husband wove, were enough to create a confusion in her mind.. So that she was able to believe the next set of lies that he told her..

She understands Arnav.. She knows his love, his hatred, his anger.. She knows that he will not understand her love for Shyam and her need for him.. She knows that if he comes to know about it then he will put a stop to it.. She knows her brother's ruthless side.. She has witnessed the way he threw her husband out of his life.. She saw that he did not let her husband approach her before being kicked out.. Arnav never gave a chance to Shyam to talk to her.

Arnav himself gave an opening to Shyam to wiggle his way in Anjali's life..
For Anjali to distrust her husband she needed a solid proof.. She needed to know why her brother did what he did, instead of a limp explanation that I trust Khushi, and I know whatever she is saying is the truth??

2 most important people of her life... On opposite ends, and she had to choose..
It was an impossible choice.. She wanted to believe her brother.. She wanted to trust her blood relation.. But she saw the changes in him, which were highlighted in her depressive state and she saw that she will never have her brother all to herself.. The kind of love she craved can only come from the relationship of husband and wife..

She saw her brother changing for Khushi.. She always believed love changes people.. It is changing her brother.. She was happy to see the changes in him.. but those changes made her constantly miss what she had lost.. Combine that with the love and affection and the false concern about baby and her health, she was once again trapped in the plans of Shyam Manohar Jha..

She may come across as manipulative, but how has she really manipulated anyone.. Lying yes.. But manipulation, so far nothing concrete.. Today she faked her ill health to stop people from questioning.. She wanted to divert everybody's attention.. That is the simplest trick in the book..

Many would wonder that Anjali and Arnav have been through same circumstances.. But every person reacts differently.. Arnav shut himself.. Anjali started searching for support and opened herself to evil plots of man like Shyam..

One of these days she will pay the price of putting faith in the wrong man.. And I will be with her when she cries over the grief she gave her brother because of her inability to see the truth.. Because that Anjali Singh Raizada will be broken far worse than what she was when her husband was thrown out!!

I am aware that not many people will agree with me today.. But I wished to share my feelings with you and I did.. Thanks Tants and Doods for giving us such a liberal platform!

Love

Kopal

Kops ; A wonderful girl with a lovely sense of humor ..gracious enough to accept gently digs on her and wicked enuf to take a poke at u too !!😆😆 .. A friend gifted with an ability to think differently and has the ability to make us understand her perspective

From My Lovely Awesome Girl Sheila S003

I think fair warning is needed to anyone who decides to carryon reading this post... I am not happy with today's episode... not one bit...
Dear CV's,
When you started this show you knew it had your USP going... a good looking couple... a killer sound track... an intriguing story...and some very good cast members... But soon you realized that your couple had something special... they play off each other even better than you could have imagined... then your show suddenly became about your couple... you realized keeping them together on screen for the most amount of time would mean people tune in... girls go crazy... people make VM's and some crazy girls on this Redux thread write novels about them that too everyday...
Then you got a little lost... you decided to show us Arnav and Khushi but forgot about the part of your usp known as story... continuity... and characters... I'm talking about Khushi's OTT... I don't want to talk about that actually... and then the bomb dropped on you...
BS got a movie and decided he wanted to do it... so then what happens... you have to pull your socks up... and boy did you ever... every episode was better than the previous... infact if I didn't know that BS was away on his movie shoot I would have literally been dying every single day... then we had the glorious return of ASR... and with that the dawn of his true feelings of a certain KKG(SR)...
Ever episode in the recent times is a reward for us fans who silently (and not so silently ) root for Arnav and Khushi... we complain about the missed kisses but we are the first to gush over every attempt... we complain about the wadrobe... but we are the first to fall over the chemistry... we scream about the hair ... and then we scream some more... but no one listens... BS I HOPE YOU GOT A DAMN HAIRCUT ON YOUR DAY OFF TO MAKE UP FOR THE ABSENSE DAMMIT!!!
So you realize that we are like drug addicts don't you... I mean you are the ones who have started us on this drug called Arnav and Khushi... and then you leave us cold turkey on a day when we are expecting some kind of contact...
Ok so I realize when your lead requireds the day off to celebrate his b'day you can't say no but all I'm saying is at the begining you had to shoot a scene showing Arnav calling someone or even answering his phone saying he will be there right away... thats all ...a set up... so we know we are not going to see him... see we waited and waited and when the end of the episode arrives and we don't get what we want ...the danda's come out...
I realize the importance of today's episode... Babuji knows about why Garima has to leave... the sacrifice of a mother...the love of an aunt... the dissappointment of a daughter... on the otherside... the fear of being caught... even though Anjali wants to be in the open with her husband she knows others are not so accepting as she is... it is easier for her to live her lie alone than if others come to know as they will ask questions and make her think and she doesn't want to do that... the doc saying the medicines are not working was so apte because in order for the medicines to work the patients must want to be healed and we know Anjali doesn't want that... we also see the disdain in Dadi for Mami... and Mami's love towards Anjali...perhaps because Anjali always showered love and accepted Mami...
I could have written a proper post about all these things that went down... but I'm just so mad at you I can't... Listen I'm the first to say you have an amazing cast but you never NEVER utilize them or give them a full fledged story it has always been about Arnav and Khushi so that is what we have come to expect... Yesterday I read 3 posts... Guru D, Master T and Shweta... the self proclaimed pr person for Aakash... she actually had a way to showcase the unique character that you have in Aakash... I hope you take the advice... but let me just tell you even if you do decide to have story lines for the other cast members they should not occupy the whole 30 mins got it...
You are also showing the channel the varying views of the Indian audience today, this is not the KSBKBT zamana... today I can watch my show on my cell phone even if my mom is watching something else on tv... and star plus has noticed this... there is divide appearing in the audience today... and as usual SP has its finger on the pulse... I don't believe TRP's are the only litmus test... look at the new show Teri Meri Love Stories... these stories are actually very urban and hip... SP is going after an audience that you have showed them exists and possibly is far more lucrative then everyone... so SP is learning demographics because of IPKKND and its popularity... see DABH was ruling the charts before the SPA but did they win big... NO because IPKKND has what ever show wants a very commited fan base... a connected fan base... an interactive fan base... I suggest you guys hire some good PR people who will utilize this for you... but with every good point there is a bad... where has other shows would only get feedback every wednesday about how they are doing, you guys would get it everyday... every hour... I have no doubt today the forum is going to look like an omelette, you know with the # of tomatoes... and eggs being hurled at you... So please be smart about it will you... and don't give us a chance to complain...
I actually like the idea of a mehndi and goad barai on the same day... because Arnav can then tell Khushi that this is another rasam that they have done already... actually I'll go and watch these scenes again to make myself happy...
Haaahhh
I feel better... back to work...
Thank you Sandy for being the best beheina out there... Shweta love your takes...
And that ladies was my two cents
S
P.S. I don't stick around so please PM me your comments.

"I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you." - Friedrich Nietzsche

The first thought that rang in me with the episode ending was Arnav's reaction. His face will be down with disappointment and hopelessness. He had promised to keep his sister protected and over here, his sister has not only misjudged his judgment but also with him being present, he has failed to protect his sister. There will be anger at himself and anger at his sister, thus we now proceed towards the rift that has to be developed between the brother and sister.

In one my chat with Tanthya while posting captions, I described Arnav and Anjali's relationship as such:

A brother and Sister bonded close because of the past thy share, although their love for each other has been strong since their youth. A sister who is weak and fragile and is sheltered by the brother. A sister whose only confidante is his brother, but a brother though yearning to cry in his sister's lap hold himself knowing his responsibilities. The equation isn't equal

The rift however won't distance the brother and sister, but after Shyam's execution, it'll be because of this that Anjali will step up and become independent from depending on others. The reconstruction of her illusionary world will halt right in between when it'll be Shyam himself striking, and letting go of the arrow.

The episode starts with Anjali showing Shyam the small pair of socks she has knitted for their daughter. She'll be her babies confidante and though with Shyam's plan, Anjali had to be completely crumbled, Anjali being the sister of her brother will emerge as more stronger and will stand by babies.
**As soon as Anjali invites him foreword to show more of the knitting, they are stopped midway between by the knock of the family and here, the family would be always with Anjali to support her decision while Shyam thinking that he has done a great deal by bursting Anjali's bubble, himself would suffer from the hands of Anjali. After all, it is his whose dependent on Anjali in every other way than Anjali, whose immediate need in her brother.

Akash had yelled at Payal for trying to lean more on Khushi than on Anjali during the revelation, whereas Payal had been deeply concerned for both. This time it'll be Payal who'll unlock Anjali from her panic attacks after Shyam fulfills his last chance to redeem himself and is thrown out. It'll be Payal who'll bring out the stronger Anjali, by asking her to clear the foggy view she has created herself.

"When you are a mother, you are never really alone in your thoughts. A mother has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child." - Sophia Lauren

Garima, had today lived up to her name. I was thrilled to see that Shasshi had been informed of the past. Dadi may have tried to put Garima in a position that would be of disgrace, but those who know her, respect her to the fullest and even when Khushi will find out the whole Past interlink, her respect will increase for this woman and thats all it matters. For the ones you love to love and respect you back.

Paranoid and living in the shadow of stained past, her attempt once again is to escape without being a cause of hurdle in the wedding or be blamed again for the same that happened in past. The question arises is that would she be able to escape? No.

Truth is a stronger than everything. It is the one that conquers the lies and its the one that can crumble love into pieces. In short, truth is something that can flip your life in a mere second.

The conversation between Khushi and Garima in the last few minutes had been heartwarmingly beautiful. Till now Khushi just had her mother's payals with her but as a wedding gift from her mother, she had gotten a pair of beautiful 'jumkas, representing her as a dignified and beautiful woman. bilkul apan amma jase lagat ho, khoobsorat. Khushi resembles to her mother. What could have been a better compliment than this.

Pointers.

  • Akash and Payal are stepping up with their relationship. i see a potential growth in last few days and honestly speaking, the creatives should finally give them more screen space.
  • Shyam is playing with Arnav to come back in but in the end it'll be his game biting his back. He had purposefully given the wrong medication to Arnav and now giving the proper medication to Anjali, thus he'll be the one reaching to rescue Anjali in this level of the games and he'll win by entering back into Shantivan.
  • Payal is like Anjali, hyper excited with marriage ceremonies. I loved her portrayal of glee at the mention of both the functions together.
  • The only person Dadi is wholeheartedly agreeing with is Anjali and Anjali still being/behaving as the same way as she did 14 years before, Dadi is understanding her. She would be the one to bring Shyam in the house in his 'so-called' rightful place.

My brain isn't raking correct pointers for today, especially with so much happening. All i can say is that the Game is on and the winner would be the righteous one!!

All credit to IPK team for another brilliant episode!! xx

IN DEFENSE OF THE GREYS

The world may be divided into those who have read Harry Potter and those who have not; but one thing is for sure- that it is certainly not divided into Black and White.

If it was, why do we see colours? If there were no colours and the world was indeed black and white, only think how bored we would all be! How bland would be God's creation! And God's creation can never be bland.

And among the myriad wonderful colours there are some that we like and some that we don't. And it is important that we don't like some of them; for how else can we appreciate the colours that we do like if we have nothing to compare them to? And the funny thing is that it is quite possible that those colours that we like may be abhorred by others. Each of us have our own distinctive taste don't we?

Among this infinite palette of the Almighty, we also find the not so generally appealing "Greys".

No one is perfect. We all have our flaws. We also have our redeeming qualities. Our flaws are our Greys, while our better points give us our more attractive colours. It is the balance between the two that matters in the end. It is this balance that makes each one of us unique.

"Man is a social being."

One of those lines we are fed in school. One of our more earlier lessons. It is used time and again to drum it into our heads that we live in a society and none of us can exist in isolation. And to live harmoniously, we need to abide by certain rules. The rules are set by society, religion, culture and by the laws of the land- the rules that are laid in black and white; there are no Greys here. These rules, our willingness to abide by them, or the disregard with which we decide to flout them, decide the Greys. And the Greys actively look for the loopholes in the rules.

The Rules are meant to be broken by the Greys.

Nothing in life is cut and dried; unlike children's stories, where the villain is black and the hero/heroine is white; and as pure as driven snow. Children's stories serve the purpose of setting down the rules; the rules in black and white. The Greys are everywhere.

Why am I talking about "the Greys" here? You are right! I must stop this rubbish and start on IPKKND. But the beauty of this show is its reliance on the Greys. The Greys that highlight this vibrant masterpiece. (...well… *cough*, *cough*… almost masterpiece.)

THE GREYS IN ARNAV

Headstrong, stubborn, easily angered, tendency to jump to conclusion and the capacity to hold grudges; we saw what he is capable of, in the initial episodes. His treatment of lesser mortals, especially Khushi had us gaping at our TV screens, aghast.

But we fell for his Greys. And we fell for his better qualities as and when they were revealed even harder because of his Greys, and not in spite of it. We were surprised into it. We were used to his Greys and suddenly we were jolted when we witnessed his ability to feel love and deep regret. We sympathized with his deepest sorrow, his ugly past, his innermost fears. We rejoiced when he fell in love; cried when he thought he lost his love and heaped scoldings on his head when he reverted back to his old arrogant self. But we never hated him. We understood him. We scolded him, ranted at him, but never hated him. And no, he is not pure as driven snow. If he was, I for one wouldn't be watching this show!

He is a just man. He supports the right and cannot tolerate wrong. But he will not hesitate to use the wrong against the wrong. That is his grey for you.

He considers his Dad was wrong, in the past. He is intolerant of his father's memory. Because according to Arnav, his Dad was wrong. Sr. Malik was married with 2 children. He was committed to them. His wife had every right to expect fidelity from him. His children had every right to expect virtuosity from him. But he failed them. So his son judged him and declared him guilty. Arnav toppled his old man from the pedestal he was installed on and accustomed to. But was he justified? Did the indignant son take the Greys into account? Probably not; because how much experience does a 14 year old have of the Greys?

The Game of the Gods

Arnav is brought to face the consequences of his actions.

He has already started to realize his more recent mistakes, viz. those he committed against Khushi. He is already regretting this. Khushi has forgiven him and he knows that too. But the thorns of his own conscience will trouble him no end for a long time to come. For Arnav is a just man. Khushi might forgive him; others might forgive him; the entire Mahila Morcha who is baying for his blood at the present might eventually forgive him; but he can never entirely forgive himself.

But what of the past. What when the entire unadulterated truth of his unfortunate father comes before him? What of the unintentional mistake of a 14 year old. No one can fault him for that. Children want super-heroes and paragons for parents and it is always disappointing for them to discover one fine day that their parents are only human. But this little boy discovered it in the most traumatic manner possible. If his actions and reaction 14 to 15 years ago had resulted in some sort of tragedy which should not have happened, will Arnav the just ever be able to forgive himself?

THE GREYS OF SUBHADRA DEVI

Who is Subhadra Devi? What is she? Where does she come from?

She seems like a woman who takes immense pride in her heritage. She seems like she was born into wealth and married into more if not equal wealth. She seems to be someone to whom blood, bloodlines and family name matters a lot more than individual lives, be it her own son's life.

For now her Greys seem prominent. But is this her fault?

There is never a tinge of grey in a baby newly born.

It is our upbringing and the world around us that mould us as we grow. We imbibe the view-points and principles of our parents and mentors as we grow. Subhadra Devi is one such woman. She was born and brought up in a family with such an outlook. But unlike the rest of us, she probably never had a chance to form opinions of her own. She stuck to beaten path. She lived and survived in a society which reflected her own views on the rich and the poor; the privileged and the under-privileged; man and woman; son and daughter in law; daughter and daughter in law. Her views are rigid; her rules are unbending. She errs; but she is convinced she is right. Others err; and she is unforgiving. She is firmly rooted in the past and with skewed perceptions of right and wrong; a woman of rigid beliefs and outdated traditions. In her eyes, the double standards of society towards men and women are not wrong. The sons of her house can stray but the women involved are beyond redemption.

She is not above falsehood to achieve her aim, no matter how many are injured by her lies.

All that matters is she, herself and hers.

She is proud of her Greys.

She is intolerant of weakness of any kind- be it of character, morality or social or monetary standing. She expects perfection in others; but she herself is far from perfect. Her eyes are trained outwards to view the world in her own preset hues. But never once did she turn those eyes inwards and take a good look at herself.

As far as I have understood her, she seems to be a woman who sets much store by family name and prestige. She doesn't care much for 'love' or other such lowly emotions. For her marriages are suitable alliances. They are arranged by family elders. Children don't have a say in it. What do they know of such things? As for it being the question of their own life or any such arguments, Subhadra Devi merely sniffs, screws up her nose, looks down it for even better effect and says in Shuddh Hindi,

"WHAT UTTER CRAP!"

She must have taken great pleasure arranging a great alliance for her son. Devyani Raizada is her childhood friend and of as good a family as hers. Who better than her daughter to adorn the place reserved for her daughter in law? Would she have asked her son for his approval? Would she have cared if he had another interest? My guess is, no. so what, if he was unhappy and by default he was unable to keep his innocent wife happy? Subhadra Devi probably had an answer to that too. It was the woman's fault. It is always the woman's fault, if she cannot keep her husband happy. She did not try enough. She did not work hard enough. She was not strong enough. Yes, her son may have erred; but he couldn't help it- he is a man after all!

She definitely had a hand in the tragic events in the past. To what extent she is responsible for the utter devastation of not one or two but at least eight to nine lives, we have to wait and watch. Got to hand it to her- she is still unfazed. She still believes herself to be infallible. Anyone else would have shriveled up and died under the enormous burden of guilt. She withstood that. But her conscience might have pricked her. She ran away didn't she?

For 14 years she shunned her responsibilities and left her grandchildren to the mercy of the Fates. To outsiders it looked as if she had given up the luxuries of life that she was accustomed to and had left to lead a puritan life of piety.

But was that it? Why did she actually run away? What was she running away from? Was it guilt? Was it grief? Is she all grey? Does she not have any redeeming qualities?

Of course she does. Both her grandchildren hold her in affection. Even Arnav has a certain regard for her. In recent days this is being tested, of course. But she must have been an affectionate and loving grandmother in their early childhood.

But it seems as if she is back to her old self.

The Game of the Gods

She lost her son.

She lost her family.

She lost her daughter in law.

She lost her peace of mind.

She chose to distance herself from her grand-children.

Now after 14 years she returns to find that the very foundations of the great Malik family that she so prided herself in has been razed to the ground; reduced to ashes. Reduced to ignominy by her worthless son, the grand Faade of the Maliks was further ruthlessly destroyed by her own grandson. Arnav, her grandson, the scion of the great house of Malik refuses to acknowledge his father and his paternal heritage; and is hell-bent on thwarting her at every turn.

PAPA MALIK AND HIS GREYS

We don't know much about him. Just the following

1. Arnav hates him.

2. Nani blames him.

3. Anjali doesn't know what to think of him. (Why am I not surprised?)

4. He had an extra-marital affair.

5. He broke his wife's heart and caused her to commit suicide.

6. He took his own life leaving his children destitute.

The story could be anything. He could have been black, grey or merely weak and helpless.

What if he was an ordinary mortal? What if he was ruled by his mother? Take a look at Subhadra Devi. She lets out a huff of breath and the world shakes in terror. Even Nani is apprehensive around her. Only Arnav stands up to her. I am not surprised. The blood runs true.

But not everyone can be an Arnav. He was born off Subhadra Devi's blood, shaped and moulded by her upbringing and then tempered in the cruel flames of the world away from her influence.

His father may not have been so lucky. It is indeed very much possible that he married according to his mother's wishes. He may have plodded along on the path of a very boring marital life for at least several years, before he met the woman he fell truly in love with. If this is the case, isn't Malik senior to be pitied?

Marriage, of course, is the union of two souls first and then by extension, the union of two familes; and not the other way round. It is the husband and wife who have to spend their entire life together in mutual love and affection; understanding one another and being there for one another day in and day out, 24/7.

Life when it is tied to an unsuitable partner can be tedious if not unbearable. Imagine Arnav married to Lavanya, or even worse, someone like Payal. He would probably throttle her before the end of the week. And Mrs. Malik was Anjali's mother. Just think about it!

It is possible for two unlike souls to unite and be happy, but two indifferent souls never can be happy together. And it is worse when one of them is duty bound and the other is indifferent. One of them suffers and the indifferent one feels the guilt of it. Picture Mr. & Mrs. Malik- two souls sacrificed at the altar of family honour and false pride. Mr. Malik is stuck with a wife he can't love and Mrs. Malik is left yearning for her husband's love. She must have been like Anjali- endless poojas and innumerable vrats offered with undying devotion at the feet of an indifferent deity. She must have tried, but didn't succeed and was deemed a failure by her mother in law. Mr. Malik must have tried too. He must have kept up the pretences, honoured his commitment, at least for a while. But being weak or merely human (depends on how you choose to look at it) he must have succumbed to love at some point in time when he found the one he felt a connection to.

But was he wrong? Up to a point, no, he wasn't. It was not his decision to make, was it? You can't control when or with whom you fall in love. But where do the Greys come in? They came in when he decided to compromise on his wedding vows; when he dishonoured them. It would have been much better if he had shown the courage to face his wife and asked her to set him free. They came in when he dishonoured his love too, by cloaking it in secrecy.

He lacked the guts to stand up to his mother. He failed in his duty towards his children, because no matter what, he had a responsibility towards them.

And yes, his lack of resolution; for a just man would have walked away from his love and honoured his responsibilities. A strong man would have suffered but never succumbed. He should learn a thing or two from his son- remember Lavanya, anyone?

Love is not just about winning, it is about sacrifice too.

The Game of the Gods

He lost.

He lost his wife.

He lost his honour.

He fell in the eyes of his children.

He lost his life.

As for love, he probably had it not at all.

And that is not all.

They say, in Hindu philosophy that for a man to attain moksha after death, his sons must perform his last rites and offer "tarpan" every year on specific days and "shraddh" on his death anniversary. Such rites are observed for three generations of forefathers preceding the one observing the ceremony. This is why lineage is so very important for Hindus.

Here, this poor man's son refuses to acknowledge his father and his heritage. Does Sr. Malik deserve this plight? Are his Greys so very damning?

THE GREYS IN ANJALI

Sweet, delicate Anjali Malik- her brother's axis, her family's darling… her husband's pawn (or so he likes to think…) surrounded by love and protected from unpleasantness, Anjali had the world at her beck and call. She loved her world. Intent on being happy, she strove to keep her world simple and hassle-free; exactly the way she liked it- immaculate, impeccable, not a hair out of place, picture-book perfect. But how can it be. Such a thing is unheard of, impossible indeed in real life. Real life is dusty and sweaty and endearingly human. Real life is about hurts and pain, smiles and tears, thorns and comfort all in a heady mix. But does Anjali understand? Perhaps not; perhaps she does, but pretends not to.

This was one of her greys. Pretending. Oh! Her greys weren't too obvious. Anjali Bitiya is too sweet and too good. Look at her piety! See how much she loves her brother! See her worshipping her husband. Yes, all true! Her emotions towards her brother and her husband were indeed sincere, but it was also about appearances. For Anjali sought perfection. In her life, in her love, in her devotion and also in the way others perceived her. She needed approval, she craved attention and appreciation; the same way Khushi yearned for acceptance.

I am not saying Anjali is negative. But look back, for example her relationship with her brother. When had she actively given Arnav anything?

He thinks she is the centre of his existence. He loved his mother and lost her in a cruel way. For young Arnav to survive, he needed something to hold on to that reminded him of his mother. Who better than Anjali? Some sort of a transference.

She was the one who gained from the bond. Her brother was actually there for her- protection, care, support everything.

For Anjali it was always appearances…

Mother figure to Chotte

Good daughter

Good wife

Good and pious person

Take her marriage for instance. She was in love with the idea of a perfect world. Her husband better toe the line or he will feel her displeasure. She kept him happy with toys so that he will remain with her.

Take her devotion to DM. it is ritualistic and rigid. There is no sincere communion with the Holy Mother.

Now compare her with Khushi. Khushi never expected anything in return for her gestures. Not from anyone. Not even from her husband. She simply gave. Look at Khushi's bhakti for her DM. She talks to Her. She is not bothered as much about the correct rituals as she is about the correct intent.

Anjali is also manipulative. She can get her brother to do things he wouldn't do for anyone else. Thankfully he knows where to draw the line. Others aren't so lucky. It is not that Anjali is totally selfish. It is just that she is good and caring only as long as her own world is intact. The moment anything happens to it, she sulks and throws tantrums. She is also an expert at emotional blackmail.

She loves her brother beyond anything. She knows that he is the only one she can call her own. Her affection for her Chotte overshadows even her so called worship of her husband. Her feelings towards Chotte are genuine, reflecting her need for him. But her feelings towards her husband are another matter. It is just a prop, designed to project an image of normalcy and perfection to her life.

Even when she is angry with her Chotte, she cares for him. She may withdraw and sulk, but when push comes to shove, she'll go running back to her brother. She cannot do without him.

But what of her husband? That is another story altogether. I think, deep down, she is insecure. Insecure that why a seemingly wonderful man would want to be tied up to her. Was it only because she was rich? Remember her reaction when she caught him snooping around arnav's room and he made a quip about being after the Raizada property? She didn't like it.

"Humein aisi mazaak bilkul pasand nahi!"

Ah! She knows! She knows what Shyam is. At least she has an inkling.

If Anjali was indeed such a pure and innocent soul, why should it bother her that Shyam is after her money? She is a devoted wife isn't she? Whatever is hers is his as well by default, isn't it? To be honest, most people would expect her to sign it over to him outright in complete trust. Btu she doesn't do that. She gives him hand outs instead, sometimes publicly. Now,what does that tell you? "Pativrata" anyone? Bulls**t!

What of her treatment of others?

Remember how she used Khushi's helplessness to get her to train Lavanya?

Her resentment of her brother's happiness with his wife when she herself was suffering.

Her lying to Arnav about meeting Shyam on the sly, when she herself accused Arnav of lying to her to be with Khushi. And she finds it easy to lie. To her loved ones, to her brother. All that matters to her is that her world remains the same- picture perfect, no matter how false the image.

What of her other greys?

She prefers her eyes closed and her head buried deep in the sand.

What you don't know can't hurt you.

At least that's what Anjali thinks. But the fact is, being blind is no crime; but pretending to be blind is asking for trouble.

Being duped is one thing; letting yourself be deceived is as much your fault as the deceiver's.

She had ample clues to warn her that Shyam is not what he seems to be, but she chose to ignore it.

She studiously ignored the signs and immersed herself in spirituality and symbolism. Instead of taking control of her life, she chose to leave it to the Gods. She preferred her rose-tinted glasses and her dream bubble. She did innumerable poojas, countless vrats and tied a lot of sacred threads here, there, and everywhere. But she never did anything constructive.

The Game of the Gods

They simply closed their eyes. And her world came crashing down.

SHYAM MANOHAR JHA, THE GREY INCARNATE

He appeared to us, in the beginning of the show as a good man. Then he was portrayed as a helpless man. A man trapped in a loveless marriage, made even more helpless by love towards another. Then he was turned grey and further proceeded to the darkest of Greys. Lately he has been as black as the villains of fairy tales. The writers have a field time with this character changing the tone and depth of his Greys according to the demands of the story.

The Greys of love…

He was shown to fall in love with Khushi. Love at first sight, when they met at Lucknow, when he saved her honour. He supposedly laid his heart at her feet. Really?

What has "love" got to do with the Greys? Isn't love all about colours? Different colours- some appealing, others, not so pleasant. But they are colours all the same… never Greys. Because the minute the Greys enter this equation, love ceases to be love… it becomes something else; something really ugly.

A righteous man who happened to be married and who had the misfortune to fall in love with another woman would have chosen to walk away. But Shyam didn't choose to walk away. He actively pursued his so-called love and deliberately planned and brought about events designed to put her more and more under his obligation. And there in entered his Greys.

The Greys of lust- both for Khushi and Money…

He wants Khushi. And he wants Anjali's money too.

He planned to remain married to Anjali while entering into a new relationship with Khushi. What do you call this? Love? I don't think so. For love never aims to sully the very object of its affections. If Shyam had succeeded in wedding Khushi; if he had indeed become a bigamist, what would have that made Khushi? What would it have done to her? Did he care? Was he bothered? No, he wasn't.

He wants Khushi; and what he wants, he should get. So thought Shyam Manohar Jha! He never cared for Khushi or what she held dear. Would a man who loves, hurt the very one he professes to love? Shyam did. He was on a mission to remove obstacles from the path to his goal. He tried to frame Khushi for theft. Her good name and honour meant nothing to him. He harmed Shashi, the father Khushi would walk through fire for. He almost succeeded. But were the Fates willing? Of course not! Khushi is the child of the Gods. She is watched over by a couple of stars and DM herself. Khushi's heart was guarded from Shyam's fake expressions of love. Her heart was bound to another. She never noticed Shyam. She never cared for him, except as a good friend. When he came to know that, did Shyam back off? Did he do the decent thing? No! Because it isn't love we are talking about here. It never was. Khushi and her feelings were never important.

All that mattered were Shyam Manohar Jha and his nefarious schemes.

When matters came to a head one day, and he was discovered by Khushi, all his plans went down the drain. Did he give up? No! he decided to get rid of his wife, so that he could get Khushi in his clutches once more. His wife being another pious soul, the Fates were watching over her too. They conspired against him and his Greys were exposed to his brother-in-law; who proceeded to hurt him where it hurts the most. Arnav snatched Khushi right from under his nose. Khushi became Arnav's wife. But did that stop him? He still lusted after another man's wife. By now the polished veneer of the cultured man was gone completely. By now the language of his eyes and his gestures had become bold and lecherous.

Shyam had graduated from grey to a very dark grey indeed; almost black.

Why are Shyam's Greys so ugly? Would we have been so disgusted if he was just another man, and not Anjali's husband? I guess not! It is his greed for money coupled with his lust for Khushi, and his disregard for her own wishes that make us hate him so. And true to form, when the time came, he had absolutely no hesitation in making or trying very hard to make Khushi the scapegoat.

Setting aside his feelings towards her or the lack of proper feeling (which would be a better way to put it), let us consider his love of money; his fixation with the Raizada wealth.

What is his background? Is he from an under-privileged family? Did he have to struggle for the comforts and necessities of life?

Don't you know that a rich man is like a pretty girl? You don't marry her just because she's pretty. But, my goodness, doesn't it help? Would you want your daughter to marry a poor man? You'd want her to have the most wonderful things in the world. Why is it wrong for me to want those things?

-Lorelei Lee (Marilyn Monroe); Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

Is it wrong for Shyam to desire a better life?

Yes, it is easy for people to have lofty ideals and elevated thoughts when well fed and comfortable. Try thinking on an empty stomach! It is easy to take money and luxury for granted when you have always had easy access to it. What of those who were always on the fringes, looking in on a better life? Is it wrong for them to want the same things that others take for granted?

In the rat race that is life, it has always been the survival of the fittest. And Shyam is battling the rat race with all that he has got. Can he be faulted totally if his instinct for survival is stronger than most? Can he be faulted totally if they are stronger than his morals; which is not saying much, because just about anything in the world is stronger than Shyam Manohar Jha's morals.

But there are some things that set humans apart from animals. It is our ability to think and feel; our conscience and our moral codes. Shyam appears to be convinced he is right. What makes him think so? I guess we will have to wait and watch.

His Greys are turning darker yet again.

The Game of the Gods

They think he is a joke. 🤣They are laughing at him.

They make the object of his desire fall in love with the very man he is jealous of and resents. 😆

They saved his wife from the deaths he so meticulously designed.😉

They got him slapped.🤣

They gave Khushi brains and Arnav Singh Raizada the luck of the devil.😆

They saddled him with the most incompetent set of side-kicks for his kidnap stunt, that telly-dom has ever seen.🤣

They made him dance with a scorpion.

They poured water (oops! Sorry! Oil) on his precious ether.😆

They got Akash and Payal hooked up before he could get married to Khushi.😆

They made him decorate ARHI's "Suhaag ka Sej"! Boy! They must have had a gala time! The Gods, not ARHI.🤣🤣

But that doesn't mean that the Gods won't decide to use their favourite jester to test their true favourites. For the Gods like to test their most ardent devotees. The Gods are crazy that way.

Shyam is definitely grey; no two ways about it. No amount of justification is going to absolve him of his crimes. His methods are wrong, his thinking is even more so. His wants and desires catapulted over the boundaries of decency and into the realms of greed. That's where the Greys got him.

Here is a story from Mahabharata; just a "food for thought" kind of thing…

Years after the Kurukshetra war, the Pandavas along with their wife left their kingdom in the able hands of their successor. Led by Yuddhishtir, they proceeded to make their way towards Swarg. Their aim was to attain Swarg bodily, i.e. without dying. This is possible only for the rarest and purest of souls. One by one, Yuddhishtir witnessed his 4 younger brothers and Draupadi fall down dead. He lost them to one or the other of their own failings and vices- favoritism, vanity, laziness, pride and gluttony. Only Yuddhishtir managed to attain parlok bodily. He was welcomed there by Lord Krishna, his brothers and wife and the other Gods and Goddesses. There he noticed Duryodhan in the crowd. Astonished, Yuddhishtir questioned Lord Krishna about how come Duryodhan, who was responsible for so many wrongdoings, is here in Swarg. And Lord Krishna replied,"Whatever he did, he did with the full conviction that he is right. When you look at the events from his perspective, he was not so very wrong after all."

So friends, let us wait and watch what Shyam's convictions are first and then decide his Greys.😊

Hate the Greys, avoid them, but you got to admit, the Greys are here to stay. If fire and brightness depict purity and righteousness, the Greys represent human weakness and fallibility. Try staring at the sun. Not easy, is it? Blazing and fiery, just and righteous, beautiful and blemish free as it is, it hurts the eye, doesn't it?

Now the moon on the other hand, is a soothing sight. For centuries, the moon has been admired and gazed at. Poetry after poetry, prose upon prose has been churned out in its praise. I too love to gaze at the moon. When I was young, I imagined I could see a bunny rabbit on the moon. I loved the moon all the more for this bunny rabbit. And yes, the rabbit on the moon is grey…

OMG! I just read back what I had written. And I come across as such a prosy bore.😆 I am so sorry for boring you all! I know most of you must be thinking by now that "life is not fair." But life is never fair. Life is a b**ch and she is trained to bite. But you know what? Try and remain as "Grey-free" as possible yourself. And when it comes to others embrace them whole-heartedly with all their Greys and just sit back and wait. Trust me; the world will become a much better place. And perhaps, just perhaps, the b**ch may not bite so frequently…

If you have stuck till the end of my lecture, I am touched and you must really like me.😉 Thank you for reading. Special thanks to the like team and also to those who comment. It means a lot to me. A special mention to Koel, Jhalak, Nia, Shami, Sharmila (spsharmila) and anurao66.🤗 They have been consistent in their praise of my writing and have regularly commented and even sent me pms. Thank you my dears, love you.🤗

As for what I have written above, it is just a gathering of my thoughts in general.😊 I will feel lucky if you are able to grasp the gist of what I wanted to say. Any bouquets and words of praise are always welcome, but send them to Shaz, (namedx)😃for she is solely responsible for my posting this. I wasn't too sure of it myself. So I pmed her my write-up and she encouraged me to post it. Thank you, Shaz.🤗

By the same token, any brickbrats, unde, tomatoes or assorted groceries are also to be sent to Shaz too.😆 In case you are thinking of sending her footwear, send them in pairs and also ask Shaz her size beforehand.😆

Have a nice day!

🤗

Anklets...Earrings...bonds revisited...
Khushi's memory of her parents are in a haze but the twinkling stars, the tinkling anklets, clanking bangles reminded her always of their presence... a smile spreads on the pretty face making it more exquisitely beautiful and all the sadness is forgotten...

The memory of these precious treasures of her parents love brought her close to the love of her life...her anklet was a gentle reminder to Arnav of her presence in her absence...He returned them to her when he knew what they signified for Khushi but the mere payal was also laced with his love along with her amma's...Matters of the heart were never the same since the anklets were returned on the diwali night...When destiny brought them together in blissful love again Amma's payal that had helped to sprout the love for Khushi in Arnav was acknowledged by him as being the most beautiful piece of memory for both...

Her loving Amma who had not given birth to Khushi but treasured the girl like her own flesh and blood... today gave her daughter another memory of her real mother... jhumkas(earrings).. which when adorned on Khushi made her resemble the long lost and cherished mother of her thoughts...
As Garima looks at ways for temporary separation from Khushi she tries to strengthen memories of her real Amma...thoughts of her biological mother have always made Khushi happy and she needs to hold on to them to overcome the sadness of Garima's looming departure on the auspicious occasion re-marraige...
Two people whom Khushi loves the most have been tied forever with the memories of her Amma...they have cared, protected and unconditionally loved her... the depth of their feelings for her is unimaginable... Arnav and Garima are her guardian angels...Sadly Khushi has never been able to experience their love wholeheartedly together...it has always been either or except the few days to the run up of her remarriage...Needless to say these days are therefore the best days of her life...

Khushi sold her Amma's bangles for Arnav and Lavanya's happiness...she wiped her tears of being parted with this token of love on thinking about the happiness it would bring laad governor and his beau... A truth that Arnav is still unaware... a truth if revealed will pain his heart again at the selfless and unselfish act of this lovely girl...

Arnav will eventually learn of her unhappiness of being away from her Amma and Babuji during the wedding...Will he try to bring them back for the marraige to keep the smile on her face but end up snatching it?

The love rendezvous of Anjali and Shyam is cut short by the untimely arrival of family...Anjali desperately tries to shield the presence of her husband in the house but Dadi by a strange twist of fate has manged to lay her hands on Shyam's mobile.

Dadi is at the crossroad of fate for two couples and her actions will decide who will see smooth sailing and who will land up in a whirlpool amidst the fanfare of band, baaja, baarat...

Something I would like to see...😳
As the incidents of their immediate past are being opened by Arnav and Khushi to lay them for a peaceful rest... can we hope that Khushi's bangle truth episode will also see light of the day?
