Everyone seems to be talking about how Arnav has changed... how mushy he has gotten of late, how he is behaving like a man in love (the smittened kind)... but i beg to differ here..

Yes the guy is fallen completely in love.. and fallen hard! But I dont think he is getting all mushy and changing suddenly and drastically. Infact he is totally in character!!

There is only one reason he agreed for the remarriage - Khushi wanted it!
Had they not discussed and argued about it the night before everyone found out about their half baked ritual less wedding ceremony, I dont think he would have even entertained Daadi's arguments and comments. He probably would have thrown his favourite threat her way too, which he threw at Anjali when she was refusing to accept their marriage back when they did get married, which is 'fine if you cant accept Khushi and I will leave the house'!!
Yet not once did he utter those words. He argued about the sanity of their marriage only because Khushi's character was being questioned and he genuinely believed they were husband and wife, irrespective of the circumstances that lead to them being so.

He agreed to getting married as per rituals only because it was her desire and it was important to her.
Time and again he has expressed his exasperation at their family's over reaction, yet he complied because she wants it and he just wants to get down with it.

Where earlier on he was just going along with the wedding ceremonies for her happiness, overhearing her defending him and his reasons for non conforming has actually taken their relationship a notch up. They have begun to do things that are uncharacteristic to themselves but make the other happy.

She doesnt want him to be forced to tie any blessed thread because he doesn't believe in it. For a ritual abiding girl its a big deal to let him off without even trying to convince. She didnt even ask him to come to the temple for the asking permission ritual, she just happened to mention it. She is not enforcing anything on him. Infact I believe had Daadi not overheard their conversation on the terrrace, she would have happily continued to live without ever demanding a wedding, knowing that he loves her.

The same is true for him.. like she is making concessions for him, he is doing the same for her. Everytime he does something it is because it would make Khushi happy. Him knowing the sequencing of the Roka ceremony events made her happy, getting a nurse to take care of her ailing dad so that her mother can attend all the functions would make her happy, having him by her side to take permission would make her happy. Thats all he cares about... and he is always watching her or asking her to check if she is happy!!

So not I dont think he is getting all mushy... and changing! I dont think he still cares about society, rituals and ceremonies. All he cares about is that his actions need to make Khushi happy and he needs to refrain from doing anything that would bring her pain cause he already regrets all the pain he has caused!1

Yes I agree with you completely. He wants to see his love truly happy. He wants to do this marriage as per the rituals and customs so Khushi will be happy. That was her wish. He now knows she has sacrificed a great deal for him and this is his way of giving back to her.
