confused!

Ok so I'm a tad bit confused about this mystery person Anjali has been talking to. I was a 100% sure that it was Shyam who she has been talking to but then when Kushi tried to bring up the topic today, she said that she wants to make a fresh start. Why would she say that if she is still in touch with Shyam. Either she has been speaking to someone else or she is a very good lier as well.
