I really don't think there was any other way because it wasn't that he didn't KNOW; he didn't want to realise; he was behaving like a petulant child, IMO. As there is a saying, Arnav was pretending to be asleep and not really so. She was concerned more about Lavanya, yes, but she wasn't impervious to what was happening with Arnav and Khushi either. If that was the case, she could as well have brought Payal there and not Khushi. If she can blackmail Khushi, she can do the same with Payal, right?

I don't get it, blackmailing doesn't imply being a Barbie Doll; it shows an inner strength that's being carefully hidden to portray fragility.
