OS- Close To You
Khushi stood near the Arrivals area in the airport, waiting to catch a glimpse of Arnav. She hadn't seen him for three weeks because of some stupid deal that he had to handle. Today he was returning and even though she had constantly talked to him on the phone for at least an hour everyday and Skyped him every night she could not wait to fling her arms around the Laad Governor.
She had arrived at the airport two hours early and now she there stood trying to be patient but her continuously tapping feet and eyes that glanced at the arrivals schedule every five seconds gave away the calm that she was faking. His flight had still not landed and she cursed herself for being a fool and rushing to the airport so early, she even skipped her dinner. Her stomach was grumbling and being the foodie that she was ,she taught to herself 'I'm sure I'll be right back by the time he arrives, I need food now, urgently, I'll be back in 15 minutes' she muttered to herself, rubbing her hand over her tummy.
Khushi skipped her way to the cafe inside the airport, hungrily hogging the sandwiches and slurping the milkshake before her, ' Ahhh food tastes even more yummy and heavenly when you're starving' Khushi told herself, her mouth fully stuffed. She finished the last contents of her milkshake and leaned back on the chair, a satisfied smile on her face, she sighed and for a moment forgot why she was actually at the airport.
Khushi stood up to go and glanced at her watch 'Hey Devi Mayya!, his flight must have already landed' she exclaimed to herself and rushed out of the cafe as fast as she could without looking like a mad woman on the run. She held on to the metal railing and checked the arrivals board to see that his flight had already landed, she looked around searching for him in the midst of numerous people lugging their baggage along and making their way out, he was nowhere to be seen. She taught that he must have already come out and must be waiting for her, 'Oh crap he does not even know I'm here, what if he just goes home' she asked herself worriedly.
She pushed her way through the crowds of people hovering over their loved ones and hugging them close after so long, she missed Arnav and wanted to see him now, she looked around frantically and spotted a man wearing a charcoal grey suit, his back facing her, without thinking she ran towards him and flung her arms around him from behind almost knocking the poor man down, 'Arnav I missed you so much' she screeched and pulled his cheeks from behind, she pulled back and turned him around to face her, to her greatest horror she found herself staring at a complete stranger who looked nothing like Arnav, she blushed furiously at her foolishness and muttered to the puzzled stranger who was looking at her like she had lost her marbles 'Errr I..I taught you were someone uh else' she said trying to look as sane and balanced as possible 'Sorry' she squeaked and turned around leaving behind a man who looked like he had just been trapped in a room filled with dinosaurs.
Khushi walked back towards the exit absolutely unaware of an amused pair of eyes carefully observing her crazy antics, 'Surprise gaya bhad mein, I'll just go home and meet him' she told herself sadly, shaking her head to clear her taught's on how crazy she must have seemed.
Arnav walked towards the girl who was still as crazy as she was three years back, the girl who never failed to surprise him and leave him at a loss for words,he had missed her so much and all he wanted to do right now was hold her close, he saw her stopping on her way to look around one last time before she left. He slowly walked up behind her, admiring how lovely she looked in red, her hair left down just the way he liked it, he inched closer and whispered 'Hey beautiful' she almost jumped up and turned around to stare at him with those wide brown eyes.
Khushi turned around to look at a smirking Arnav, her heart leaping with joy at having him so close, she smiled warmly at him, forgetting how foolish she had felt a few minutes ago, he slowly pulled her into his arms, wrapping her in that familiar warmth that she had missed so much, she locked her arms behind him, trying to keep him as close to her as possible. 'I missed you so much, love' he whispered into her hair, breathing in her sweet scent and loving the happiness she brought into his life with just one glimpse. They pulled back and walked out of the airport hand in hand, smiling brightly. 'Khushi what were you doing before I arrived' Arnav asked her seriously, biting his lips to hold back a laugh.
She blushed and punched him slightly 'You saw that din't you' she looked down shaking her head at how mad she must have looked. Endless laughter and teasing followed, Khushi just rolled her eyes and glared at Arnav who stood by the car looking like he would soon start rolling on the floor laughing, 'You are so crazy' he sighed and smiled at her pulling her close and holding her by her waist, rubbing his fingers over the frown she had on her face, his tenderness was making her forget how annoying he was being just a minute ago, his warm smile reminding her how much she had missed him. She soon gave in and smiled warmly at how tender he was being, 'I love you, baby' he whispered over her lips and kissed her softly as the night enveloped and reunited them in love, bringing them close.
