Seriously, if Anjali's character cannot be increased without it being all about Shyam and the beloved husband being taken by a woman (who has Arnav!), they should just rename the show and stop wasting our time.
I came to see a romance, an intense love story. If I wanted a story about a villain, I would go to Shakespeare, not come here to watch an Indian soap!
The whole reason Anjali is not finding out about Shyam (thereby increasing her character and giving her a backbone) is because that leads to Shyam being cut out of RM and that character getting less screen time. That cannot happen! Because Shyam is the lead of the show. While LM was here, his professed favorite person (according to present director) had more scenes than the leads (I counted, every other scene was Shyam's). Now the whole story is revolving around Shyam, what he wants, what he does, why he does it, who wants him, who spills water on him, how he shines his shoes, when he goes to the bathroom, etc.
Accept it. The only love story here is the one between you (the CVs) and Shyam. The obsessive attention to detail for Shyam shows the real intense love the CVs have for him. You are married to this character whether you mean to be or not. It is HOW your story is interpreted that holds up the mirror in performative art - so I am holding up the mirror. Your focus is Shyam, not Arhi. Writing 101, when there are protagonists (P.S. you have TWO), antagonists (Shyam) don't get the focus. Unless of course the antagonist the antihero (Hamlet). But your whole story revolves around Shyam who is not the hero!
So just rename the show Shyam Puja, go sink to the bottom of the TRP charts, get the axe from SP and leave the audience in peace. You guys are dragging the romance to sweeten it and saving the family history by never exposing any Raizada or Gupta history (every relative is Mami's). Drag the elastic too hard and it breaks. Drag and lose the audience, then you will get the axe and have no time to show all the history you are saving up now.
Hate to say it but the PR for the show is also lame. Try to adopt a better set of lines that just repeating..."keep watching, there are twists and turns ahead." Well, we have been watching for months and there has been no twists. It has consistently been about Shyam and most recently a very ill-planned leave for poor Barun. There were many ways to cover his absence other than this used-to-tatters soap kidnapping move.
Disclaimer: I have no personal hate for Abhas. I am not biased about a negative character. Shyam is a useless character who gets too much importance in the show and it is plain for all to see.
Spare me the basher accusations please. You are free to post of course, but you will get more sympathetic ears than mine if you make a separate post on that.
