GH's comment -IPKKND is a Star One style show

I really did not want to make any posts for the next few days. But I just couldn't help myself after the reading the message from our CV Mr. Gautam Hedge.

First of all, I want to applaud Four Lions and their team of creatives for delivering some beautiful episodes since the ME. In fact, the last 2-3 epis before the ME were good too. It's easy to make mistakes but it's difficult to own up to them and even more difficult to rectify them. The PH and the cvs have done just that and I have to appreciate them for this. 👏

First it was Gul Khan and now GH has directly reached out to fans, which I don't think any other makers have done. It is genuinely commendable. 👏

But it doesn't mean the discussion has to stop there. As a fan I can always give my views. 😳

There are quite three things that I noticed in GH's letter to fans.

1. GH seems particularly affected by the criticisms / bashing from the fans. I will not deny that there were times when we were too harsh to the cvs. Sometimes we went overboard, bashing the cvs only to realize the next day that our assumptions were wrong.

But I also felt that GH and maybe the entire team of cvs might be a little too affected by this. Yes we do bash / criticize when things go the way wrong way or the plot doesn't live up to our expectations. But we also shower them with praises when things go write. If only the team of cvs remembered all the times we praised them. 😳

2. The PH or the CVs maybe has some trouble differentiating between online & overseas viewers and TRP viewers. Or maybe this diverse fan base is confusing them. 😳

3. It is a Star One style show on Star Plus.

We do realize it's not just Sanaya and Barun. Daljeet, Abhaas, Akshay, Deepali, Utkarsha, Jayshree T and the others work just as hard too. 😃Jokes apart, yes, we do realize the entire team works extremely hard and their efforts are praiseworthy. The crew members probably work the hardest. But can hard work be a justification for long term inconsistencies?

CVs are human beings and they can make mistakes. But how long can plot errors be overlooked? How long does it take for the cvs realize to realize the track isn't going right and it needs some work?

My question is, why is it that DABH is always able to retain its position? Now many will argue that it is a saas bahu type show. To give DABH its due credit, the show has less blooper, gripping plots, less filler epis and a consistent script; something which IPKKND fails to maintain. Does it mean DABH cast and crew work any less hard?

TRP fluctuation is normal. The IPL debate has become stale and I don't want talk about it anymore. Those of you, who follow my posts regularly, should know my take on this. I don't know if all you keep tabs on the trp graphs, but IPK is probably the only show with a drastic fall. Rankings fluctuate, but shows positioned among the top three don't usually come down to thirteen. Does GH feel reaching out to online viewers will help them recover from the trps?

IPPKND is a Star One style show on Star Plus. It makes me wonder if IPKKND is an experimental project. 😳

Having watched three SO shows DMG, MJHT and Geet, I will tell you that although I loved SO shows, the last thing I want to watch is another SO show.😛 The reason is difficult to explain.

I understand what GH means by SO style show. They were beautiful, youthful romantic tales. Just mentioning SO reminds me of some great moments. But there were no so great ones as well.

I remember the great chemistry of Star One leads, some beautiful scenes, some beautiful tracks, plenty of romance, songs, dance, fun filled moments, some intense, touching scenes but I also remember months of dragging, bloopers, meaningless tracks and characters, slapstick comedy, weeks of filler epis, villains becoming saints and sometimes no story at all.

If any of the cvs are reading this, please give us a SHOW and not a Star One Style or a Star Plus Style show. 😊

PS : We crib because we love the show. A lot. 😃

I also wondered about the Star One comment. Interestingly enough, if this was on SO, I would not have watched it - well yeah, maybe for Barun, but perhaps they would not have had the cast they have if it were on Star One. There is a difference when making a shows particularly for a wider audience. I think it shows how the CVs and GH have not gotten their mind out of the SO mindset. The vast majority of viewers on SP are NOT youths. I don't know how you can even compare. Given what he said, I totally understand why we got toing toing, swami stuff and gobor slips. Wasn't it interesting that the younger members on the forum resonated with those tracks whereas the older members shut the tv off. It has been a year and I don't know why this isn't sinking into the PH. We love the jodi but we also love a good story. A PH can do a lot of different types of creations no doubt, but you can't base them all on the same model and expect it to stick with a different audience. Take Disney, they make animated movies, but they also made Pretty Woman. I don't think GH, PH or SP for that matter, has grasped what the audience is looking for here.

firstly yes dey mus b under tremendous pressure for the trps...n how to rise dem bk to where dey were...

i think d prob which d Cvs r going thru is dat IPK hs not been particularly of SP genre...

for instance GH writes for saathiya as well..dat show frm d very beginning hs bn a saas bahu saga..d male leads hardly hv a role der apart frm being hubbys n not accepting der wives fr long..n being mumma' boys...

here from initial stage thou dey hv tried makin it a balance fr d young viewers along wid family viewers by hvin characters lk mami,naani,jiji,buaji etc etc sumwer down d line dey hvnt been able to show a proper mix of keepin d story of d lead pair lk a family drama or youth 1...now dat is 1 thing dey need to sort ...SP cant have a typical M n B type of romance...it ll hv to be merged wid much of family drama fr d trps...so its high time dey start mixing up family characters wid lead pair n giv dem equal space...

from last few days i hv bn reading lotsa posts abt y CVs gave BS the permission or leave fr his movie...if dey wudnt hv given him d permission even den we wud hv hd many posts here abt why the PH din allow him...poor barun he missed a chance we missed a chance n wat not...so d moral remains here dat 1 cannot impress every1...

this moral also applies on d show...u cannot impress every set of audience...tomorrow if IPK becomes typical SP show den d youth audience might not like it...n if dey keep it a youth show den family audience might not prefer it...dat m8 b d difficulty GH mentioned in his interview...

i simply dont understand why most here r taking it as a reply to dem.😕..did he mention I-F or ny I-F posts in his interview????😕

..its jus dat d website approached him to answer sum mails or msgs n he did dat..

...just imagine if u get 100's of hate msgs or -ve mails compared to just 10-15 of +ve or appreciation mails/msgs(current stat) what wud u reply to wid a priority..i believe d -ve posts...so dats wat he hs done in dis interview...a website approached him fr an interview n he answered the -ve posts or mails coz he thought dat is of more importance now...

we come here 1ce or 2ce in a day to dicuss d show..hv sum fun,...chat wid our frnds...d entire day of most of us is hectic...jus think u login here to d forum to have sum fun n wat u get is dat ur inbox is full wid articles abt actors leaving d show...show ending...Cvs doing crap ...dis 1 posted dat...dat1 posted dis...now jus put d Cvs in our place...dey work fr 14-15 hrs everyday...d show crew works atleast 2-3 hrs more den wat d star cast does...after d hard work of 17-18 hours u come n lgin to any social website n u get des msgs...ur priority wud b to justify...to mk dem understand dat ders an other side to it as well...dey may hv said sumthin or d other in d flow of interview...even d actors at times fumble or mk wrong statements ...bt we shud understand n take d other things wat dey have said in consideration as well...


Just think abt it guyz...dont take it as a personal attack...read it as any interview..n try understanding der POV...

hope d CVs get dis sorted soon n get bk widda bang on d trp charts...we r only viewers who turn into der fans later...but its primarily der baby...dey hv created d characters...come up wid d story...worked hard to bring up d show...n live d characters n d story till d course of d show...


what i liked in d interview specifically is d last part ...where he said show r meant fr entertainment n keep dem limited to dat...

Whats the diffetence between a Star One and a Star Plus show ? The latter has a bigger budget ? They have certainly kept their costs down, if we look at the clothes Khushi's been wearin throughout !""
