Tere Bina Zindagi Se Koi Shikwa Toh Nahi... Tere Bina Zindagi Bhi Lekin Zindagi Toh Nahi...
Phew, what an emotionally draining episode it was! I was actually bawling my eyes out - thought I was emotionally and mentally prepared, but the way it was done - just amazing! 👏 Never thought I'd cry like this for this kind of scene - it's expected for scenes like Arnav's breakdown, but not these!
Mr. Barun Sobti: "If you love the character, anyone can play that", "If you love me, you will get to see me" "You will love this character more than the show" - Sorry Barun, I love ASR and I love Barun Sobti, but most of all I love Barun Sobti as ASR. If you really do at some point (God forbid) quit the show, I'd rather they shut it down than have someone else play ASR. And no, there is no character on television or film in India who is as complex and as challenging as Arnav Singh Raizada, except maybe Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada, so no, with all due respect to you, I don't think I will love your character in the movie more than the show. (Lo keh diya, I'm ready to jhelo Priya's warnings also now! 😆). Without you it's not like the show is nothing like people say - there is enough to keep it going - but it's just not the same. It's as simple and as complex as that. My "OMFG eeks!!!" moment during the precap they showed you yesterday was enough to prove that.
Piya Tu Kaahe Rootha Re...
So Khushi was worried - where is Arnav? I need to tell others, I shouldn't have lied. But then she sees Anjali worried, and she perpetrates the lie further. This is the exact same mistake she repeats with respect to Shyam too. This time though, it is quick to fail. Wow, Masala Mama had some use after all - and I thought HP's reactions were funny as hell. And is there some symbolism that they were discussing Lakshmi and HP's wife at the same time? 😉 Priya, what have you done to us with your riddles, I say!
Coming back to the drama, Anjali was distraught. Does that put our conspiracy theories to rest or does it raise more questions? To me, when Anjali tells Khushi that Arnav goes off and doesn't tell anyone about where he goes - it means that she is used to him doing this on their mother's birthday, which is probably why she was not freaking out. The freaking out today started at the thought that, when she left him a voicemail, he did not call her back. That is not her Chhote.
With respect to her medicines, I just think she's a stubborn woman - we have seen so much evidence of that - and she does not think about anything else when her mind is obsessed with one thing (possibly she also likes the attention, being as insecure as she is). Her child is really going to be competing with Chhote for her affection. I hate to say this, but sometimes I even pity Shyam - as it's not easy for Khushi to be second to Anjali in Arnav's life, it's probably not easy for Shyam to be second to Arnav in Anjali's life. But then I realise that Shyam is a creep and I get over the pity in no time at all! And anyway it's quite clear that he married her for the money, so I guess it doesn't matter to him much. 😡
Anjali questions Khushi - why did she lie about Chhote? Then they decide to speak to the police. I also thought Akash should have had more of a reaction at that moment - though I guess maybe he's used to Anjali freaking out about Arnav too. The phone call comes at the right time - Anjali's relief, and Nani's expressions (also her expressions in the scene with Khushi - kudos, Jayashreeji!) and Mami's sweet talk with Arnav - all were just eclipsed for me the first time, because all I could think of was, HE'S BACK!
Noticed how Shyam was missing in action, and yesterday the phone call too - can it really be that simple, or is it to mislead us that they are showing it this way? Somehow, just somehow, I can't see Shyam being responsible - I don't know if it's wishful thinking or what, but even from a logic point of view, doesn't it make more sense for Arnav to be "missing" for Shyam's plan to progress, rather than have him call and reassure his family? But if the kidnapper is someone else, why did he kidnap him? For ransom? Then why haven't they called about that - and ditto, why have him call and reassure the family? There is something else up - and the CVs are doing a great job of maintaining that suspense.
Tere Mere Beech Mein Kaisa Hai Yeh Bandhan Anjaana...
Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani are so magical that their chemistry shines through even if they are not in the same frame. Or maybe it's Arnav and Khushi's love that is that magical. Even face to face I Love Yous of other couples can't match up to this moment, for me. ⭐️
Whatever it is, the phone goes to Akash - Arnav asks him to look after Di, and <pause, gulp> Khushi. He found it so difficult to get the word out. There was so much to this moment but the most definite was the knowledge that if he was gone, she would need to be taken care of, because she does care about him too, and she would be distraught if something happened to him. Akash - I hope he gets to thinking about the deal too - but Arnav has made it clear that no one else knows about this deal, so I don't know how much he can do.
And then the phone goes to Khushi. I just LOVED the Rabba Ve when Akash said "Khushiji se baat kijiye" - beautifully in sync with the scene. And then he immediately realised she was on the phone - she didn't need to say a word. She broke down crying (which is kind of when I started sobbing too!), and ASR takes over "Stop it, Khushi. Rona bandh karo. Main theek hoon" - so well done by Barun! And then the unexpected (to her of course, not to us!) "I love you". Sanaya's reaction was amazing - the way her eyes flew open in shock.
What was happening in Arnav's mind? No, I don't think the misunderstanding has been cleared in the sense of the truth being in front of Arnav's eyes, but he does believe her, believes in her - otherwise he wouldn't have been turning back to go to her at the airport scene. The hesitation in bringing out the words also seem to prove that it was not a calculated SOS. It seemed to be a man who did not want to die thinking that his wife and the love of his life thought he hated her. He needed to let her know - it was fine, he did not hate her - in fact quite the opposite, there was no right and wrong to him anymore (God, how I loved that Heer Ranjha sequence - I keep quoting it!) with regard to the misunderstanding, he wanted to get this out to her - kya pata, kal ho naa ho - that he did not hate her.
Now it's upto Khushi to decipher the clues she has, to think through what she knows, to use the bond where their hearts are one, to understand and to act. I can't wait to see what her actual first reaction is going to be - will she say something today? Also, we were predicting the ILU today, while it happened yesterday, which means the storyline is moving faster than we expected. So take that, stupid PAKAU news channels. If you think Khushi and IPKKND are pakau because she's crying, then I invite you to watch other serials and come back to us and tell us about our serial.
From 8.30pm last night, all I can wait for is 8pm tonight. I'm going to try to concentrate as much as I can on work today (it will be super duper hard! 😕), so will keep coming and going, sorry about that. Loved everyone's posts - what a wealth of writing we have on this Crooner. I'm so lucky to read all your posts! I love you all - bas kal se yeh "I love you" shabd hi moonh pe hain! 😳
