Anna although we discussed that it is a naivety or desperation of Khushi to believe Shyam will heed to her request...yet I'm pasting what I originally wrote...

Khushi's act might not be intelligent but she realized that she cannot ask her family to reveal the truth...becoz of the 6th month clause...same is the reason with Payal...even if she confides...Payal can infer the reason of her hasty marraige...which Khushi would not do as true to her nature she will not put anyone elses relationship at stake... So she asks Shyam as he is the co-conspirator and if the truth she told is reiterated by Shyam then Arnav's doubts will clear automatically.

Apart from there is an Idiom...It is from Telugu ...

Shankham lo posthene teertham avuthundi means Charanamrit Shankh mein dalne par hi banata hai (Although it might be plain water but only after pouring it through a conch we call it Holy Nectar)

Charanamrit = Holy Nectar from the Feet of the Lord of the worshipped Deity and is partaken as a sacred offering or a holy gift after the completion of the Pooja.

So the truth has to come out of Shyam's mouth for Arnav to believe Khushi. What an Irony!!!!

...Again a Poser for arguments sake, if what Shyam says now is the truth , then what he said earlier was a lie ..That implies that Shyam is a liar .. So why shud Arnav believe the present version is the truth... he would very well take it as manipulation to get Khushi in his good books ..
