Hello my darlings,
Here's me back again… Today's episode gave me a lot of food for thought. So I decided, instead of a funny anecdote I should write what I made out of the main protagonists today…
So today, I included my take for the characters of IPKKND…

For my musings, read on…
ASR: He is a ruthless business tycoon, the terror of the fashion industry, a force to reckon with. Then what makes him so vulnerable to a small-town nobody like Khushi? Is it her beauty? May be… But he is surrounded by beautiful models all the time in his profession… Is it her innocence? May be… But he does not believe in it.. Is it her down market behaviour which is so different from what he is used to? May be… But he always said he prefers sophistication… Then what is it? Hummm… May be it's her heart and the goodness in it that shines through her eyes… That's what stumps ASR every time. He wants to hate her but can't, wants to be able to leave her behind but can't, forget her but can't… Because in spite of all the differences between them, her heart is exactly like his inner soul, Arnav… When ASR found about Shyam and misunderstood her, Arnav could not sleep because his heart always believed in her… ASR is the shell of a beast that protects the prince inside, Arnav…
Arnav: He is ASR's soul, his conscience… Every time he hurts Khushi, intentionally or unintentionally… Arnav bleeds tears through his eyes, from his heart… He is the vulnerable soul, ASR tried to bury under his ruthlessness but could not… He is also the only one who recognized truth in Khushi's eyes, innocence in her gestures and love in her heart… But Alas, ASR also refuses to listen to him most of the time… He is the gentle spirit Khushi fell in love with… The prince in the beast…
Khushi: Her name spells happiness… She puts a smile in everyone's face even when her heart is heavy… Her eyes can be sad but her face can sparkle if that will bring someone pleasure… She is the goof, the clown, the mischievous butterfly that makes everything seem enchanting… She is also the nurturer, the protector, the fighter who always puts herself first in danger… She is the beautiful princess who captured both the prince and the beasts' heart… That is the power of her beautiful soul. She got hurt numerous time by the beast, but still loved him… She always saw the prince's kindness to others and never directed to her… but still loved his heart… In fact, her trust in the beast is so immense that she believed him when he said they are no way equal… She is way beneath him. It never occurred to her that all of that was the beasts' empty roar to save his heart… So she never dared to believe that the beast just might love her and trying to cover it up with a lot of scary noises…
Anjali: She is the sister who loves her brother. But one love supersedes all in her eyes that is of her husband. Like Khushi, she believes every platitude her husband chooses to shower on her. But, sometimes, I doubt, does she really believes that or chooses to believe that… You can try to give a blind person their eyesight… but can you really give eyes to someone who chooses to be blind… Two things stuck out in my mind today…
1. We saw her husband gave her excuse that he bought a lot of gifts and toys for their coming baby. She believed that. However, if he indeed bought Rs. 40,000 worth of stuff for the baby, it will fill at least two rooms of their home. As an expectant mother, should not she want to see them? Want to know what did the father of her child bought for their new baby? But she is showing no interest in that. Instead she wants to move to her own home and looking at furniture… After leaving so long in RM, why is this sudden restlessness to move to her own home? Why not before? Is it possible she is suspecting her husband and wants to save her marriage?
2. When she fell because of the white powder her husband had sprinkled and later Mami checked and said there was no powder there, she accepted that it was her mistake. But nobody wiped the powder from her palm. So she could have said, look here… I have powder in my palm… if it was not there, where did it come from? But no, she again chose to believe whatever her husband made her believe…
In some ways, she is not much different from her brother… Where her brother shows his ASR persona and keeps Arnav hidden inside… She shows her Arnav (vulnerable) persona and keeps her ASR side hidden inside… She is as ruthless in her belief of a fairy tale marriage as ASR is in his belief that he is always right. We will just wait and watch and see, what happens when both of their beliefs crumble around them.
Shyam: He is cunning and he is shrewd. The only reason he married Anjali is for her money. Other than that he has no interest in her. Her obsessive love and belief is stifling to his life. He likes Khushi's spirit, her youthfulness, her laughter that shines through her eyes. He looks to Anjali and sees a still pond which is stagnant and looks at Khushi and sees a laughing river, which symbolizes life… He wants Anjali's money to maintain his lifestyle… But he craves Khushi to fill the gaps in his life which he left behind for money… Happiness and love. He is obsessed with Khushi, not because he loves her… but because he feels if he can lock life in his fist, his life will be better… But he did not count on his brother in law falling for that firefly, he was craving or that firefly falling for his brother in law… So he built his net, hoping to keep them apart. But every time he tried to keep them apart, fate brought them back to each other's arms. He can fight human being to capture her heart, but destiny made them for each other… But he never gave up… He is still fighting against destiny. If his character had a positive side, he could make a great anti-hero like ASR. But there is nothing positive in him… His love for Khushi and love for money… both are incomplete because he can't love either of them with his whole being. That's why, ASR won Khushi and he could not.
P.S. Because I did not write anything funny today, I will leave you with a funny song... to be sang to the tune of
