After the Soap adventures, we come to meet Sour, Sweet and Spicy today….Let's see what they have to say:
Introducing SOUR, SWEET and SPICY
Defining Sweet: That which is pleasing or grateful to the mind; as, the sweets of domestic life. Pleasing to the eye or pleasing to the ear...
SWEET
Arnav echoing Mami's advice from a negative plane to a positive binding. Mami's "they'll feed you till you die" was converted into "You feed me a lot" and his "I eat a lot"…oh, you do, dear!
He was all smiling and childlike when he said to Garima, "Anything normal to eat, please…" Cute!! Coochie-coo!!
Babuji nodding when Kushi told her mom and aunt they were going for a walk, means, "I really need some fresh air away from this zoo!"
And wow! Again, Garima and Buaji were so awesome! So much sacrificing for their Damadji, much planning and cooking for their dear Kushi's hubby…And wow! Again! Because Garima's dialogue was real smart: "Will Arnav bitwa have gone off somewhere in anger? This Kushi. She doesn't think before she speaks." Hmmm….they understand the two so much. And is the "think before speaking" concept sticking only to Kushi? Doesn't it fit Arnav as well? A couple made for each other!!
Other than to Kushi and Anjali (and maybe to Lavanya?), Arnav tells sorry to another set of people for the first time: Garima and Buaji.
Mami was in totally Mami mode. Loved her dialogues, her snappy slang and her moves toady!! As always….Especially her "my favorite cheez" dialogue. It was so sweet I wanted to hug Mami for being that sweet….
"You're always wrong, I'm always right" is what Arnav tells Kushi but today before Garima and Buaji he said, "Kushi was right…" And Garima telling, "Kushi's a little mad and we hence we call her Goddess of Mischief…" And Arnav's smile, assuring it as right, "Yes, she is a little mad but I love her, and yes, she is the goodness of my heart and she has mischievously made a permanent home there….."
Kushi definitely makes and eats sweets or food to ease her hurt or angry mind. Jalebis replaced this time by Gol Guppas. She returns after that tearful depart from Arnav and her face lights up on seeing the sweets. Just what she wanted to set her sad mind right! And she was so ravenous that she had to tear the cover by her teeth and spit out the plastic piece in her mouth, and narrate the "food mantra" while serving herself….
Defining Sour: Sour Grapes to the Fox were fruits of ignorance. Sharp, tart, or tangy, Bad-tempered and morose; Displeased with something one formerly admired or liked; Not measuring up to the expected or usual ability or quality; bad.
SOUR
Future Sour: Arnav is laying the snare for himself: "I'm your Damad" like how he kept saying before "I'm your Pati." Hmmm…wonder how Arnav bitwa will escape from the clutches of both the families once they come to know that their "Damad" and her "Pati" were drapes for a sixth month periods only. Tch-tch, poor boy. They'll probably kill him…or maybe accuse Kushi again like how they did when the marriage was hastily done and displayed though it was Arnav's head idea in the first place.
Sour but needed: For once, I loved Buaji and Garima accusing Kushi for irritating Arnav. For all that she did to him in the past few days, I guess she needed this little family remainder.
Sour Memory: Kushi and Arnav's bedroom battle of words reminded me so much of that day when he said Sorry to her the first time at the pavilion where Lavanya had taken her to accompany her to the party. The days when either of them realized that the other was an orphan, still pained by the scars of the lost parents. Arnav said the same dialogues on the day preceding that, "Never tell me you understand what I'm feeling." And how wrong he was! And today, that scene must have crossed his mind though the CVs did not show it.
Sour Triangle: That kid with her "Massi call" and "clicking camera" reminded me so much of dear NK. *sniff* A moment to remember his scenes and *sniff* mourn his absence on the screen…..*sniff* *blow nose into handkerchief* sniff* There, that's better!
Bubbly totally irked by the triangle mess she is in. Mr. A and Miss P are so into their bond that now she is put of the picture. No so fast! Bubbly strives every way possible to keep Payal out of the picture. And the fact that when Akash comes and tells her to show the camera, its like obvious that he will not be aware of all that Bubbly will be doing in the future where she is trying to kick Payal out of her affection circle with Akash in it.
Sour Hands over head: Hands are meant to be signs of both blessing and curse and usually hands on or over the head is a sign of blessing from the elders. But the hands we saw today were 'passing over'. So does it mean "flash-quick" blessing or something? Watch how Akash and Payal move: they are involved in each other, forgetting Bubbly in between. (why does Bubbly's background music remind me of a cartoon elephant?) Their held-hands pass over her head. There is a tinge of protection in that "arch" like shelter they create over her head, but it does not stay there. It passes. And Bubbly is disgruntled about what is issuing. So looks like both of them together will try to give her the "father-mother" love that she never had but she will be ignorant of it and try to focus on winning Mr. A all to herself….
Sour Tomorrow, don't know: Gol gappa is symbolically a crude compromise. It also stands for future recklessness. So does that mean Kushi is going to go on wrecking mode again? No, please don't. But yes, I totally second the fact that it was compromise. He brought it as a solidified sorry to her and Kushi ate it to accept reluctantly what she wanted but not what she needed. Meaning? A compromise between the two….for forgiveness. Only compromise? *sigh* When will love take over, man!!
Defining Spice: Figuratively, that which enriches or alters the quality of a thing in a small degree, as spice alters the taste of food; to spice one's words with wit.
SPICY
The best for the last: There are a lot of changes happening. And Arnav is the one changing the most. Though the CVs are often overlooking Kushi's character, today we saw the "real" Kushi at least to remind us that she is there, hidden within the body of the transformed joker!
When he stripped down the mosquito net, I was reminded of the Suhag Raat when he had stripped down the flower decorations overhanging the bed. What both these scenes have in common: he was angry that he had hurt her and was tearing and pulling down materials to calm his raging adrenaline. Poor boy. He needs a hug!
How much he values the word "Ma". Of course, now that the person to be called by that name is no longer there, she exists as a mere word, and to him that word is sacred. Totally understand how he finds it hard to call another by that name. And he was moved by the fact that Kushi's family understood his pain. His healing process is so there!!
I was totally touched and really had tears flowing down at Kushi's dialogue. She is still paining and how much she tries to hide the pain. Her comedy and tricks are all struggling endeavors to forget the pain and live a fake mode of existence. A life where she will be immune to pain. But here she is, pained again. Not by just his words of her "gutiya" family and the "disgusting" marriage they are in. But also by what she is doing to him…And that is a pivotal difference between them: Kushi has learnt to live through pain and still does but she can forget it all. She never gets angry or hurtful beyond the limit even by mistake. But Arnav still bears the wounds, he is still unhealed. He has also built up this wall around him by which "pain" and "love" should never enter him. Which is why he is always angry, always affected when slightly hurt…because unlike Kushi, he does not know what to do with that hurt. Kushi lets her love for him and her family heal the hurts and make her smile. But for Arnav, he hides from love and since he loves only his Di openly, his love is not strong enough to brave him through the storms and smile even when dying within like Kushi can. And it is for this reason that he married Kushi. Kushi is his shield by which he keeps the hurts away and the pain from touching him. Little did he know that the love he has for her is actually inviting more pains and hurts as the days go on. If only he shared this love and this pain with Kushi, how much more happier he would have been…but no, he still keeps himself hidden within closed walls, not daring her to touch his wounds. Not letting her love him, not permitting her to heal him….
And now regarding Arnav's reaction to Kushi gobbling down the gol guppas: I want you tell me….was it that "wow, she accepted my sorry" or was it "wow, she accepted me" or more rightfully, was it the "caught the cat in my bag"? But the reality behind his reaction will come out in tomorrow's episode…we're left hanging with just his semi-open-mouthed stare!
