He heard the angel-like voice coming from his left side. Before he turned his head to face Khushi, he blinked his eyes tightly preventing the tears to stop. She looked at him with sympathy as her eyes represented the shiny stars in the night sky. His face clearly showed pain and his eyes chocolate caramel eyes were watery. Without words, he turned back around to look out the window. There was a short silence, but their eyes had spoken for them.
" Why do humans realize what they had when they lose it?" Arnav asked with no eye contact. Once again, his right hand was on the cold ice window as he stared out.
She looked at him with tears in her eyes and she looked out the window too before she responded. "We aren't perfect. I guess it is part of life. We just don't understand until we lose our loved ones."
"Do you miss your parents?," he asked as he faced her.
She looked up at him with emotions trying to stream out of her eyes. She nodded her head slightly and responded, "My parents were everything to me. But I still know they are still up there, watching me and still loving me."
" Khushi' sure I have wealth, power and fame, but to be honest, I say you are really lucky."
At those words, Khushi's eyes lightened up with confusion and shock mixed. She couldn't believe Arnav Singh Raizada was saying those very words. The man who had always looked down at her for her class and the usual taunts she had received because of it. The man with the high ego and pride. The man who never showed emotions and was only ruthless and angry. But today, it was something special. Something she liked.
" I mean," he continued, " you received love from both parents'I didn't." A tear streamed down his cheek. All of the sudden, he felt Khushi's delicate hand wiping it off. He put his hand on hers as her hand stayed on his cheek. He looked at her as she locked eye contact.
"What do you mean," she asked.
He took her hand off his cheek and he turned around. He closed his eyes in frustration as his hands folded into fist. "You know how much I hate marriages. After you hear this, you will understand. My dad had cheated on my mom when I was little. My dad left her and she took care of Anjali and I. The day she died, I realized how stupid marriages are. What is the difference? People still cheat. It doesn't matter if you are unmarried or married, cheating happens. Marriage is not a special love bond for me. Marriage is nothing special. Love is cruel and not kind. There is no point falling in love "
There was a short silence until Khushi put her hand on his shoulder, " I am really sorry. I didn't know and I apologize for all the rude comments I had said in the past regarding you and the topic of marriage. I understand, but it depends if the person really loves the other person. Some people take advantage of the name marriage. Not everyone is like that. You know, when I was little, I always had dreams of my prince charming to ride on his horse and take me away. When I got older, I noticed how a lot of guys were'cheaters. But I didn't give up faith. I know my perfect prince charming is somewhere'.You know marriage is one of the precious things that every girl dreams about every night. If someone truly loves you, marriage is the best bond for those lovers. Marriage is where hearts get untied. Marriage can end, but again , it depends who you marry. You just have to keep trust and faith. Even if it gets broken, God is with you and keep trust in God. Anjali told me your mom was religious and kepy a faith in Gpd. Even though her marriage was over, she received two loving kids and no one can never replace that. At the end, God keeps us in love and happiness. And love? You can't control that'it just happens'.If it is destined, you can't stop it. I am sorry Arnavji, but you don't control this."
Arnav stared at her lovingly and was amazed by her sweet words. She made love and marriage sound more positive.
She turned around to walk away as Arnav continue to watch her.
"This your chance to tell her'JUST SAY IT," he thought.
He grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her towards him. They both got lost in each other's eyes for a moment.
"I Love You Khushi," Arnav said he felt her lips coming closing to his.
Khushi couldn't believe what she was hearing. After the fights and arguments, the truth was overshadowed. She felt tears coming of joy. She loved him too and today, she felt like she can breathe again. Those 3 magical words were in her chest too long and she couldn't hold it in.
" I love you too," she whispered as she closed her eyes and hugged him.
She put her arms around him and rested her head on his chest as Arnav put his arms around her. He also closed his eyes as Khushi heard the beats of Arnav's heart. This was the heart she wanted her heart to meet. Today it did.
She looked up at him and his lips came closer and closer to her lips until they touched. They kissed each passionately, something they both never experienced and it was a magical moment for them. The wind blew in as they kissed. The wind blew the curtains around them as Khushi's hair danced in the wind. This moment was something to remember.
Later
She was in his arms as she cuddled him. She felt sleepy but she wanted to live in the moment. He kissed her forehead as they sat on the sofa.
All of the sudden they heard noise coming
Khushi: What was that?
Arnav: I am not sure'..
Khushi: Maybe it is a robber
Arnav: I think you are right since I am hearing my safe being opened'.
The noise came closer and closer and someone started trying to open the door.
Khushi: (Whispering) OMG
Arnav: (Gets up) Wait'.(looks around and sees a baseball bat) (Grabs it) Watch this
Both he and Khushi get beside the door as Arnav gets ready in hitting position with the bat.
The person finally opens the door with the key and the door swings open.
Arnav (Hits the person hard with the bat but stands frozen when he sees the person) SHYAM!
Akash:( Comes from behind) Bhai!
Arnav: I though you both were robbers!
Akash: But why (Gets down to check if Shyam is ok with Arnav)
Arnav: I heard my safe opening
Akash; OH Bhai! Remember I told you I was going to take some money out. I decided to do it now since Shyam and I came to check up on you and see if Khushi was with you.
Arnav: (Feels guilty) I feel bad I mean I hit Shyam! Are you ok Shyam?
Shyam: (Gets up with his hand on his head) Yeah'.(Glares at Khushi and winks at her when Arnav and Akash are still discussing the misunderstanding)
Khushi (Thinks- I need to tell them now'about Shyam.. I can't start a new life with Arnav with a lie) Arnavji! I need to tell you something!
Ok everyone yes It is done! The rest can be left up to you. To me he gets exposed and Arhi live happily ever after :)
