ps there is a word swamini.. but thats usually reserved for old mother-type ascetics.. wont work as well for name calling!

Swami means 'master' in Hindu religion, originally used to address ascetics and yogis.
Women traditionally would call their hubs swamis in earlier times without taking their names, in short referring to their husbands as masters.
But in Bengali language, swami's literal meaning is 'husband' and not master, pronounced 'shami'. Since I am a Bengali, I was actually not wrong. But my husband took it in the 'master's' sense and was irked.
