On that note what springs to mind is that the expectation and concept of the Indian cinema and television has moved on as far as the audiences are concerned but the makers and producers are lagging behind

I dont think it has anything to do with LM as such per se as he was also not that great of a director His sangeet sequences were filled with such bloopers and blunders that finally I decided to turn a blind eye and not let it diminish my enjoyment of the moments

I have a feeling more to do with a Story head or creative for the plot took a sudden 180 after the Farak Padta Hai series
One moment you had a tag that said the engagement ring fits Khushi and then the next the Payaash comedic track started and from then on it has been one juvenile moment to another interposed with some silly Rabbe Ve, bipolar activity and crass situations

Agree bipolar it is. I feel sorry for our brilliant leads. Are they as confused I wonder.
Do Indian actors have much artistic license or do they do as they are told?

Some were pure po*nography. I am not naive but I could never write such stories then again I am no writer.
Don't even know why I ventured there

The problem here is the viewership is pretty diverse so you have folks from really small towns with conservative parochial sort of thinking watching this as well as folks like us who use youtube and what not and an entirely different cultural outlook to watch this serial I believe there is a serious digital and class divide to this serial and that is where when expectations dont match up for either that some are left feeling disappointed.
I too want the actors to have some say but it looks like these 2 are not objecting. I dont understand how SI does some of the stuff compromising her brilliance as an actor I really do feel for her at times when she does some antics not at all in keeping with her stature but I guess that is your job so you do it whether you want to or not

Again there is a generation and an ideological gap While young India is ready to experiment conservative India is still screaming so considering that is where the ad revenues lie makers of serials have to pretty careful
I believe some kiss scene in some Ekta Kapoor serial really did not work that well so yes quite incongrous

Understand the diversity of the viewers. India having the second largest population with a cross section of people and citizens of many living abroad with a different concept.
That is where the makers have to brave and bold and decide which audience will they cater for and stick with it and not yoyo around confusing us, the actors and themselves.
They are behaving like politicians.
You are never going to please everyone so make your choice

What's astonishing for me is this is the land of the Kamasutra. Love, lust and passion is a given and a fact. The stork did not deliver us nor were we found under the gooseberry bush.
Its gross how some films portray a woman clad in a white saree under a waterfall whilst a man is groping her and yet a kiss is unacceptable?
Oh my giddy aunt
