DECODING: ARNAVand THE PLOT TO COME
I love it when you guys stop blindly leaning on my post and dig deep yourself. That's the kind of readers I love! But I have nothing against the others either...Now, I would love to CONGRATULATE, yes the word is congratulate, Bidz and supermom1 for their outstanding reading on Arnav's behavior and the future plot. Those who do not remember what they spoke of, I'll present them here once more:
BIDZ
I am not sure if he really doesn't like her being above him. When he made her win at the dance, I thought he just went to help her because he loved her. He just wanted to be at her side. Now also I feel the lack of credit is more to do with her betraying him and his love than anything else. I think it is the hurt talking, more than the fact that he wants to be above her. Though I can't make out why he wanted her to apologize on the road, what he did in their room was purely out of naughtiness. He was enjoying the concern and attention being showered on him and he was having fun and feeling light hearted at her expense. In other words, it was the kid in him coming out. I think the lack of credit statement is more to do with the hurt and not wanting to admit his love for her. Did you notice what brought about that statement? She said "aapne hamen dhokha diya?" In his mind she has given him the biggest dhokha and she has the audacity to raise her voice over such an insignificant matter? At this moment, all the love is forgotten and the rage and anger resurfaces, and hence the famous ego also resurfaces.
SUPERMOM1
I really can't see much change in Arnav and Khushi's relationship. Its like a seesaw. The CV are taking too many detours. Its been more than a month and I still don't see any kind of trust being formulated between the two. They are still fighting and trying to undercut each other at every chance they get.
Shyam is getting stronger and daring day by day. . On another note if he gets hold of the file and come to know that the papers were transfer of all the wealth in Anjali and her baby's name, what action would he take. Would he try to blackmail Arnav by telling him that he knows the secret behind his sudden marriage with Khushi or try to harm Arnav?
In your post you mentioned that it would be payal who would disclose the truth about shyam to ARnav, I hope you are right but as far what we have seen about payal is that she does not speak unless it is very necessary. Would she disclose the truth only once shyam's truth is brought in front of the family and they accuse Khushi to be his counterpart?
At the moment I feel that Khushi will leave RM even before he comes to know about the whole truth.
If you don't mind, bidz and supermom1, I would like to build up on your wonderful theories...thank you.
Get ready friends, we're gonna drink some kadha. And its bitter, alright:
Now, before decoding Arnav, we need to first review the basics of psychoanalysis. *grunt* Yes, sorry, but I will have to drag Freud into the Forum:
The psychoanalytic view holds that there are inner forces outside of your awareness that are directing your behavior.
According to Freud, the mind can be divided into two main parts:
- The conscious mind includes everything that we are aware of. This is the aspect of our mental processing that we can think and talk about rationally. A part of this includes our memory, which is not always part of consciousness but can be retrieved easily at any time and brought into our awareness. Freud called this ordinary memory the preconscious.
- The unconscious mind is a reservoir of feelings, thoughts, urges, and memories that outside of our conscious awareness. Most of the contents of the unconscious are unacceptable or unpleasant, such as feelings of pain, anxiety, or conflict. According to Freud, the unconscious continues to influence our behavior and experience, even though we are unaware of these underlying influences.
In short, its a man's unconscious mind that actually rules his conscious and preconscious, without him knowing about it.
Coming to Bidz: Arnav does things because he wants to do it: he wants to be with Kushi, he wants to make fun of her, wants to spend time fooling around with her, wants her to get respected as his wife, and wants her to keep attending and getting concerned over him. He is glorying in the very thought of having Kushi with him every step of the way. No denying to that. However, that is his conscious. The unconscious mind is something that stores everything from a person's prenatal phase onwards; yes, even before one is out of the womb, one's unconscious mind starts collecting vibes and traits and hence the term "reservoir". It is on the foundation of this unconscious mind that EVERTYHING in a person happens by way of thought, action or speech.
His 'lack of love' and 'need for denied love' drives him to Kushi and he finds comfort lingering in her shadow. It is this very same need for love that makes him mad about his sister and cannot bear ANYTHING that will threaten his sister's life, even if it means HIS OWN SISTER TALKING ABOUT HER DEATH. If a time comes when he has to chose between his sister and her unborn child, he will definitely vouch for his sister more than the child. He will compel the doctors to save his sister, and though he will be sad about losing the child because his sister cares for it, he will not falter to put his sister above her child. On the other hand, Anjali would want her child to be saved and not herself. Because even when she was involved in that frightening car accident (Shyam messed with the brakes, remember?) the one thought that crossed her mind was who will look after Chotey. She doesn't think of herself first. She doesn't think of her husband either. She went and met Shyam a lot later, after the fright of the accident had worn off.
Even when Arnav loves Kushi, that love is born out of the LACK and NEED for LOVE that is lingering in his unconscious since his hurtful childhood. And when he does things playfully, its the missed out childhood that lies dormant in his unconscious that comes to play. Freud believed and has magnificently proved that the only way to solve one's problems and mental drawbacks, is by unlocking the unconscious and letting the child free. Cure the unconscious, and you cure the child. For Arnav, his child is tapped inside of him. Destiny has given Arnav a chance to unlock his unconscious. Kushi is the key that will set him free and be a MAN again.
But one must remember, the unconscious harbors not just past memories and feelings, but also new ones that are strongly embedding. The terrace scene has gotten imprinted so badly into him that at every turn, any stimuli that could possibly instigate that memory into his head, brings him to confront Kushi or even his Di to shut up and stop the memories from tormenting him. Monday we saw him harass Kushi and Tuesday we saw him dance with her. These two actions were born out of that rage and distress that he aligns with the memory of the terrace tragedy. At the time he has flashbacks of that memory, his conscious and unconscious mind emerge together. At first, he will give in to the blind rage of the memory, but slowly he will let the 'other' stronger need in the unconscious take him over (the need for love). Kushi's hand crushed against the door frame, and her own acceptance to move to the dance steps as and how he is leading her, drives him to let 'rage' calm down and the 'desperation for love' to take over.
In short, what I have understood is, Arnav is not hard to understand but his actions are difficult to predict. Because we don't know at what time his conscious or unconscious minds rule him.
Now, coming to supermom1. She has stepped right on the mental rack in which the story ahs potential to move.
For Shyam and Arnav to have a face-of, Shyam has to do something. He will not walk straight to Arnav and tell him he knows about this and that. No, instead he will do something or say something that will make ARNAV COME TO SHYAM. Now, what would make Shyam do this? Most probably, he learns about the contents of the file. And then he realizes he needs to take quick steps, so his focus diverts a bit. Though he may not aim at Kushi for sometime and will keep Arnav as his goal, he might use Kushi to get to Arnav. Then comes the face-off and consequently follows Arnav's realization that Shyam knows more than he should know. Aranv is angered at Kushi and Kushi is helpless to prove herself. What happens in between all this is up to the CVs to build, and I hope they keep up to the mental state of the characters. Then it will be Payal's turn to act guardian angel to Kushi. She will disclose it to Arnav at a time when Kushi is not there (in the poolside, yesterday, only Arnav and Payal are there) and then Shyam might hear this as well. Of course, that creep will stop at nothing because he has two motives: get easy cash via Anjali's inheritance and fulfill his desire to have Kushi. Both these motives are in Arnav's custody. Hence, destroy Arnav = win his motives easily.
As long as the CVs maintain the consistency in the role of the characters mental paradigm and their growth, I won't mind if the story goes through roller-coaster rides and thunderstorms. Because in the end, anyway, its all about love and how love cures broken hearts to find solace in a future that is creep-free. Look on the bright side, friends, and cheer our ArHi all through!!
