Her pumps clicked along the marble flooring as she walked into the cozy restaurant, their pace increasing as she rushed towards the carpeted floor to avoid elongating the annoying clatter. Letting out a sigh of relief she let her eyes roam over the silent patrons, smiling as her eyes landed on her date for the night.
…
"So," Arnav began after they'd begun feasting, "what did you like most about me?"
Khushi quirked her eyebrows as she finished chewing the bite of salad. "Who said I liked anything about you," she teased.
He smirked confidently at her, "we wouldn't be here if you didn't."
Khushi laughed softly, setting down her fork as she leaned back in her seat. "Your dimples," she admitted, "you had dimples in that picture my sister showed me."
Arnav leaned towards the center of the table, beckoning her to move in as well. "You know," he said meaningfully, "my dad had dimples."
"Oh?" she replied with amusement.
"Yup," he admitted, amusement alight in his eyes, "my grandmother too, it runs in the family. My sister has the cutest ones."
"And you're telling me this because?"
He grinned at her, the dimples in question distracting her for a moment as he shrugged his shoulders and turned back to his dinner, "I'm just saying, if we ever have kids…"
Without waiting for him to finish she burst out laughing, "Seriously?"
Arnav winked good-naturedly, "a guy can try, right?"
"So you want kids," she assessed, "with dimples of course."
"Shouldn't be that hard," he said, grinning again to show off the object of the debate.
Khushi pursed her lips, her movements exaggerated as she tapped her cheek in mock thought, "They would be very adorable kids," she declared finally.
"Like their father of course," Arnav added seriously.
Khushi's laughter erupted through the restaurant, gathering many intrigued looks before she calmed down, "you just don't give up do you," she gasped finally.
He shrugged again, leaning forward as he stretched out a hand, "so what do you think Ms. Khushi Kumari Gupta, could you possibly see yourself with adorably dimpled kids?"
"Just like that," she asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Just like that," he confirmed with a nod.
Smiling she slipped her hand into his, "only for the dimples," she joked.
